Great company!!! My furnace stopped working on the first really cold day the year. I called Davey about 4:00 PM that day, knowing how late in the day it was and spoke with Dorothy. I asked to have a repairmen sent out, thinking it would be the next day. She asked a few questions about the HVAC system, age, etc. and said, "We can't get anyone out there today but we can probably fix the problem over the phone." After assuring me that if we couldn't, she would send someone the next morning, she spent over half an hour walking me through a few checks and procedures and we got the system up and running. So something I thought was going to cost a few hundred dollars or more, cost me nothing, because she wanted to save us a very cold night and the possibility of pipes freezing. Wow! A company that shows incredible integrity and professionalism, and really seems to care about the people they serve! It's been a little over a year and after speaking with two other HVAC companies, and making calls to some of my friends in the business, and with a ton of home remodeling experience under my belt, we discussed this at the house and I was prompted to write this review. We had a water leak in my twelve year old 96% efficient Amana furnace and I placed a call to Davey. Dorothy was very courteous sent out her son Junior to look at what was going on. He told me he was going to condemn my furnace though there was no signs of aerial contamination. I told him I'll go out and buy two expensive meters and they both showed ZERO contamination! Ok, Junior then said the furnace would be covered under replacement warranty as the heat exchanger was cracked. He talked to the local dispatcher and they had a unit in stock. I was then told by Junior that it would cost me THIRTY FIVE HUNDRED to get the job done. I was flabbergasted at the price! This was for labor! Unbelievable! Ok it was winter and cold temps needed to be handled so I told him let's do it. Junior returned and started installing all the while informing me that it would cost me another EIGHT HUNDRED! I told him no way! Mind you, my old unit was removed and brought downtown. He called his office and they backed off on the additional eight hundred. I left Junior alone and he put together the new furnace and installed it! It was not straight, not plumbed and he left after the furnace was running. I called Dorothy and COMPLAINED! She sent Senior out and he straightened things out. The inspector came by and failed the inspection. Senior came out again and touched up all the work. Senior had to come by a third time to rewire the condensate pump... to code! That final time he came, I could tell he was PO'ed at returning and never said a darn word to me. No respect at all! Bottom line, I was ripped off to high heaven. Thirty five hundred... for the work done? Maybe they get this from other uneducated customers but the unit was under warranty, the whole installation with labor should have cost me $2000 at MOST! I found an unbelievably reputable HVAC and they have so far treated me with respect and professionalism especially when it comes to pricing and top notch customer service. Dorothy to the rescue! We got home from work and found our heat totally off and our house at 63 and getting colder. We were so worried about how our toddler would do overnight. After calling around and not finding anyone to come out, we were sure we were in for a night of crying and squirmy co-sleeping to keep our son warm. After getting a missed call from us, Dorothy called us back and walked us through the whole thing over the phone. We are pretty useless in the homeowner/home repair department (don't know the age of the furnace, the brand, how to open the panel...) and Dorothy was so nice and explained everything. We sent her a picture of what we were looking at, she walked us through checking the fuse, and ultimately solved the problem by helping us clear out the error code and find the source of the problem (low batteries in the thermostat, which still looked like it was working, but wasn't). We're so relieved, feel a little silly, but mostly are so thankful that Dorothy cared enough to call us back and walk us through this while she was driving home from the mountains. I'd been putting off replacing my 1993 model a/c for a few years, but it was finished. With crippling tariffs looming, it was time. Yelp is a great place to start. I reached out to a handful of the highest rated companies for a quote. Davey won the day for multiple reasons: It's small and family-owned. Dorothy called me right away on a Saturday. She was helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with my questions. Try that with a call center! The installer was not a random tech with no stake--he's an owner with skin in the game and decades of experience. Service from big companies can be impersonal and inflexible. This was the opposite, as it should be. We had four quotes/companies come by. Each person had different things to say about my needs and some strong disagreements with each other. One was cheaper, but unconvincing. Another refused to sell anything but Lennox despite stocking other brands. Manny offered the best combo of knowledge, planning, and quality equipment. Most important: I felt most comfortable with his credibility and integrity. I ask a lot of questions and proceed with some trepidation on big purchases. Dorothy and Manny went above and beyond here, including two calls totaling about 75 minutes. Thanks also for rolling with the clogged drain issue and delay during the install. My only gripe is that the financing listed on their site required an SSN to simply see terms/rates. Hard pass. Trane and Davey for the win, regardless. Five stars. read more

Avoid this company! They improperly installed a new A/C system for us. Now costing us a lot of money to redo the install to code. Photos of improper fittings will be attached. After 14 mos the A/C is out of commission. They charged a lot for a small unit as well. So we overpaid and now are stuck with thousands to pay for a new install of same unit. read more

Last year I went through Davey's in order to replace our furnace, and they did such a kickass job that they were my first choice for who should help us replace our air conditioning (which we've been needing to get replaced for quite awhile at this point)! As I mentioned in my previous review, my boyfriend and I bought our house just a year and a half ago, and were first time home owners, so when it comes to dealing with anything in the house beyond decorating the rooms () we're both completely lost. So we've both been dealing with our lack of AC as best we can ever since we purchased this house, with plug in fans in basically every room, however after doing the math on our electricity bill we realized not only were we probably spending more money running the plug in fans 24/7, and in the end those fans weren't making much of a difference anyways in how comfortable we were temperature-wise in the house (aka spending every night tossing and turning because our bedroom was always a tad too hot). So I couldn't be more happy that we finallyyy called Davey's and had our hvac replaced, and my only complaint is that I seriously didn't called them sooner, because now our house finally feels actually comfortable to be in, no matter how hot it is outside! I know that may sound "cheesy," but to go from constantly sweating through your bedsheets, to being able to sleep through the night because of the cool temperature in your bedroom, is beyond amazing! Plus I'd also like to mention that as a woman, I totally recommend the employees here. There have been times when we've hired people to come over to work on something during the day, and my boyfriend is gone at work all day, while I personally work from home, so usually I'm alone in the house all day, and there have been times some people we've hired have made me a tad uncomfortable. But the guys from Davey's have always been extremely professional and courteous, I really can't recommend Davey's heating and air conditioning enough! read more

Dorothy in the front office is so pleasant and helpful and Manny is really thorough in the field. I needed a entire replacement of my HVAC back in 2022. Dorothy and Manny were the only ones who were able to get me a quality furnace and condenser at a reasonable price during that crazy time (remember all the supply chain issues?). We just had a storm come thru that sent an electrical surge and blew out the furnace. I called them and Dorothy had Manny over super quickly to service my system under warranty. They are great as being responsive, but worthless in terms of their support and addressing the issue. They didn't know the issue about this unit. Recommended me to get another unit, or something might be wrong with the electrical panel. I've changed the breakers the next day for $250, only to realize that it was an issue with the AC starter which needed to be changed , and one of my neighbors having an AC business fixed in 15 min with no issues afterwards. They need to either get better professionals, or address what their fundamental business process and protocol - unsure about their actual intentions and ethical practices. read more

A friendly common sense reminder for everyone out there hit by whatever heating or cooling outage. Stay away from companies that reply with "your equipment is too old, we're not touching it as it might break somewhere else and ruin our reputation, but we're more than happy to install a brand new one for you" or the ones that will send you "quotes" with shiny round numbers, without giving you a rundown of hardware and labor. In my case, I found them both in this company. If you can believe it, they also replied to one of my inquires about one of the quotes they sent me with "don't know the brand or model, it's whatever we have in stock". Pretty shocking if you ask me. I can't give them zero stars, but in their defense they did send someone to take a look at my furnace for the problem I was having with the motor on my blower. But unfortunately when I said "look", I meant LITERALLY LOOKED AT IT. I was stupidly expecting him to pull a good old multimeter and check a few things here and there e.g. a motor, a capacitor, a relay. That didn't happen. It was all based on a hunch. So, as you might expect, I didn't give them my business. The lack of professional attitude is what pushed me away, the original $7,000 quote for a furnace I didn't need, the revised flat cost for fixing the blower after they realized that the other half of the entire system had already been rebuilt by the previous owner, with no itemized list of parts and labor of course, not to mention the cool "whatever we have in stock" $1,200 solar attic fan I was actually truly excited to learn more about. You might be wondering why this company gets so many good reviews here though. I'm assuming the low level of expectation people have nowadays? I am also a professional (not in this line of business unfortunately) and I could never treat my customers this way. Be transparent, honest and professional with the service you're providing and have respect for other people's hard earned money. read more

It was the night after Christmas, and all through the house, no heat vents were stirring, no heat was about. My wife, she was chilly, our cat's teeth were chattering and our kids were yelling for their father to set things ablaze. The furnace was wonky. It wouldn't give a start. I will only be using this company in the future. I had called to set up an appt since my furnace was making a loud noise. Dorothy asked for a recording of the noise so Manny could figure out the problem. They are pretty sure a part needs to be replaced so they also let me know my furnace was not as old as I thought and should be under warranty. She walked me through how to check and get signed up properly for the warranty. She also let me know I would have to go through a specific company for the repairs to be covered. Update 5/18/24: Since I posted the review below, it was explained to me that the estimate I was given was for both a replacement A/C unit AND furnace. I appreciate them contacting me to straighten this out, so raised the rating to Good. I still think if they had offered right away to send someone out instead of giving me a quote over the phone, or listened more closely to what I was asking for, this misunderstanding wouldn't have happened. Instead I contracted with another company. They also said that they were in the process of putting up a website, and were considering listing with BBB. Davey was the first company I reached out to for an estimate on repair or (more likely) replacement of my very old A/C system. I talked to a very nice woman at their number, who asked me for some details about the size of my house, age of the A/C unit, etc. When I asked if they would be sending someone out to get a more accurate estimate, she said there was no need, that they did estimates over the phone. I was unpleasantly surprised when she quoted me in the neighborhood of $14500-15500 for a replacement 3.5-4 ton unit. When I looked online for the typical cost, I saw "most range between $3,500 to $8,000, including installation" on www.consumeraffairs.com. Called another company, and they were professional enough to send someone (the owner, in fact) out to look at it and chat with me. His estimate for a new Lennox system: $6900-$7400 depending on the efficiency rating. So no surprise, I won't be using Davey, who by the way, doesn't appear to have a website, nor could I find them on BBB. read more
