Hey Yelp Fam! Hey y'all, I'm back with another review, and this time we're in Florence, South Carolina. We were out and about and wanted to try a new place to eat. My sister mentioned that she came across a spot on TikTok that everyone was talking about--apparently, they serve huge portions of seafood at a reasonable price. Honestly, there wasn't much convincing needed. She had me at seafood, big portions, and affordable prices, so I was like, let's go. When we got there, the parking lot was pretty full, so we expected a bit of a wait once we went inside. They do have a drive-thru, but since this was our first time and we weren't exactly sure what we wanted to order, we decided to go inside instead. For it being our first visit, we ordered quite a few things: shrimp platters, a hamburger just to try it out, and even a couple of hot dogs. When the food came out, they weren't kidding about the huge portions. You get a lot of food--served in what looks like a medium-sized pizza box, overflowing and a bit greasy. But the food was good. I really enjoyed the shrimp and fries, and the hushpuppies, fried okra were good too. I didn't care too much for the hot dogs or the hamburger, or salad, the bake potato. The grill shrimp was ok but to be fair, when I go to a seafood place, I usually stick to seafood. When I post the photos, you'll see just how much food they give you. Overall, the food was good and the service was solid. Would I go back? Probably. I'd likely check out a few other seafood spots in the area just to compare, but if I couldn't find another option, I'd definitely come back here and order the shrimp platter again.

HONEST REVIEW!!!! They give you a TON of food. However, the wait is too long and the food is not well seasoned. Our order was missing the fish but was easily resolved. If you want a ton of hot fried bland food, this is the place for you! The customer service was excellent but unfortunately I don't think I'd return. There is nothing special about this place.

First visit here and we were loving the minute we walked in the door. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very welcoming. We ordered the calabash dinner and the old fashioned. The plates have more than enough food. I think I finished 1/4 of the platter and needed a to box. Same with my husband. Everything is flavorful and not too greasy. We were shocked by the prices because we thought it could be more compared to the amount of food we received. We will definitely be back.

Can you believe this is a hushpuppy? Haha

I hadn't been to Jumping J's in years until yesterday when I happened to be in the area. I had yesterday's Shrimp special which came with 2 sides. I got homemade onion rings, a side salad and complimentary hushpuppies. I ordered online and picked it up shortly after via drive-thru. The gentleman who gave me my food was very welcoming and had a winning smile. My food was hot, tasty and filling. I also had the strawberry shortcake. I was stuffed and very satisfied. I might go back today and get me one of their good cheeseburgers. Thanks Jumpin J's!

Driven by many times, always crowded, finally stopped. Located beside Maryland Fried chicken on S Irby St, Flo. Was in search of a healthy meal saw reviews of the flounder platter decided had to try. This restaurant has variety of burgers/seafood platters, all the fish items are breaded except grilled shrimp which my wife requested. Breaking down my meal, the breading is very thin so can just pick off for fresh hot flounder, yummy. The coleslaw has similar taste to Bojangles if you know what talking bout so that's good. The circle battered items are hush puppies not onion rings, the shrimp were small but the amount given makes up for this. Also included are side of fries, all this in one platter for $12.95 that is value. Side note, my wife felt her gizzards were not thoroughly cooked for her taste so this could vary person to person. So to wrap up, very good portion for money. Due to amount of food I would definitely utilize drive-through next time as it is nearly 3 meals worth depending on your appetite.

Wonderful. The service was down home. The flounder was fried good and seasoned. I love the slaw. Portions were fabulous. You will leave satisfied, and with leftovers. The burger was cooked great with bacon fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Tons of fries. The Fried pork chops were cooked well and seasoned to the bone. The interior was very clean. The menu is very broad. You can definitely find something that pleases your tastebuds. The price is definitely right.

Delicious food! I got a hamburger plate large, and got PLENTY of French fries. The service was super fast and extremely friendly! The restaurant was clean and someone was always sweeping and wiping down tables. Sondra was wonderful and polite! I can't wait to come back! Definitely worth a try and great prices too!

I like the chicken salad pita. This is a long time restaurant in town, owned by a Greek family. They have good food.

We got the crab cake platter, blackened catfish platter, honey pecan chicken roll, crab cake…read moresandwich, and the white russian pecan pie. After having the crab cake sandwich we would recommend doing the platter because the bread overpowers the crab cake. Everything was incredible, the flavors, consistency, and quality. It is for sure comfort food but nothing sits heavy and feels super fresh. Not a fan of coleslaw but it was super yummy and great corn fritters for our first time having them. Service was great. Ambiance was super informal and adds to the vibe of what you're eating. Also unrelated but the cashier/server has a super calming energy/presence/voice which totally added to the vibe

Came with slaw, 1x Side (Collard Greens: sweet vinegar with some heat, and a bit of pork, really good!), and some AMAZING Hushpuppies (fresh, sweet corn bread). Shrimp & Grits: Fantastic! Buttery and cheesy grits with sausage and nice shrimp (not over-cooked or chewy). Green beans were slightly too soft (30-mins until closing), but good comfort food. Coleslaw was "meh," but a good, crunchy foil to the fish and rice. Counter Service (order at register, then they bring to table/to-go) was quite fast, given that they had to cook the fish and prep foods for take-out. Everything looked clean, staff was nice, and owner was talking to everyone. Didn't get to try the variety of desserts, but they looked and smelled great. Traveling, but worth the stop!

**A Comfortable Visit to Panera Bread - Florence, SC**…read more I stopped by the Panera Bread on David H McLeod Boulevard recently for a quiet breakfast, and while the experience had its charms, there's certainly room for this location to shine a bit brighter. I ordered the Ham Croissant Benny - Black Forest ham with scrambled egg and cheesy benedict sauce nestled in a flaky, buttery croissant. The flavors melded. That croissant had good texture, and the benedict sauce added a nice richness. My only small disappointment was that it could have benefited from a bit more time on the sandwich press - the center was a touch cool when I bit in. Still, the taste was there, and I enjoyed every bite. The Bold coffee was... well, coffee. It did its job and paired nicely with breakfast, though I wouldn't call it particularly memorable. Sometimes that's just fine when you need a reliable cup. What I appreciated most was the relaxed atmosphere. This is an older Panera location, and it shows its age a bit - the space could use some freshening up here and there. But honestly? The quieter pace was a blessing. I never felt hurried, and I was able to spread out some paperwork and take my time without feeling like I was overstaying my welcome. There's something to be said for that kind of comfortable, unhurried dining experience. I've always loved Panera's aesthetic - that inviting combination of stone and wood creates such a warm environment. This Florence location has good bones and that classic Panera feel. With a little TLC, it could really be something special again. The bottom line: If you're looking for a peaceful spot to enjoy a decent breakfast without the hustle and bustle, this Panera fits the bill. Just maybe double-check that your sandwich is heated through before you settle in.
