Junbi just opened up about five minutes away from my apartment, so of course as a lover of matcha I had to come and try it. I really wanted to try the yuzu dragonfruit drink, but they unfortunately don't have the ingredients for it at this location yet (the cashier mentioned that the store would be getting it at the end of the week, so look out for that!) so instead I tried the strawberry matcha, no ice and full sweetness. I usually get half sweetness or 70% sweetness at most of the other boba places in the area, but the full sweetness at Junbi is pretty good, not too sweet, and the matcha flavor is very apparent while also blending well with the various flavors! I also tried their onigiri flight and it was delicious. Super fresh and made to order, great ratio of rice to filling, and the mentaiko has quite a nice kick. I also really appreciated the touch of packing the nori sheets in a separate bag, so they don't get soggy in transport if you're not going to be eating the food immediately. Excited that this is so close and convenient, and I'm looking forward to coming back frequently for my matcha fix, and maybe to try some of the other stuff on the menu! Happened to be at pure barre next door for a workout and wanted something refreshing so stepped into Junbi and tried their earl grey honey lavender which is a seasonal drink and is DELICIOUS. As an avid tea drinker, I can tell it's some high quality tea they use . I came here without knowing anything except that it was affiliated with JK Films. I stayed for the phenomenal flavors and of course for the matcha madness. The menu looked so fancy and unique compared to other boba shops, but eventually, we decided on the strawberry matcha w/ milk and the Madagascar vanilla matcha w/ milk + almond jelly both less sweet and DAMN were we blown away since I had zero expectations. Never been to a junbi before and I believe their other locations are on the West Coast, so I was definitely super excited when I saw that they had opened one near! Inside is very well decorated, bright, colorful, and very clean! The workers were super nice and helped us right away with any questions or suggestions. We decided to try 3 drinks: Yuzu Dragon Fruirt Matcha Mango Matcha Blueberry Matcha All were really different options/combinations with matcha that we've never tried before. The yuzu dragon fruit one was the only one that did not have any dairy. It was a super delicious and refreshing drink. A little bit light on the matcha flavor, but you can definitely taste the yuzu! I really enjoyed this and would probably get it again when I'm craving something not too heavy. Mango matcha had a very strong mango flavor. I really enjoyed this combination and thought the flavors were unique but very good. The only thing I didn't enjoy so much was the "hairyness" of the mango pulp mixed into the drink. Blueberry matcha had a more strong matcha flavor than blueberry, but you can definitely tell there is blueberry. This drink overall was a bit lighter in flavor than the other two, and would probably be my last pick from our selection. I kept seeing Junbi pop up on my IG explore page and I only saw their California location. But how did I not know they had a location in Texas?! This was my first stop on my weekend trip to Dallas and the yellow interior with all that natural lighting just perked me up. I had the Matcha latte with regular milk so I can taste the grassy notes. Usually choosing oat milk or almond milk takes away that subtle matcha flavor I enjoy. The drink was smooth and alluring. The boba was lightly sweetened and didn't take away from the drink either. The second day, I went for the Madagascar vanilla matcha with whole milk and the balance between the two flavors was surprising. It's hard to have an equal balance when you choose mixed flavors but they somehow did it. I still prefer the Matcha latte just a bit more. I've been dying to do another weekend road trip just to come back here. I'd be an absolute slut for Junbi if I lived in Dallas but since I'm not, I'll be planning my next visit. read more

Get the matcha powder dust if you try the ice cream, it's a brilliant topping. The location is a little small, but the staff are always friendly and helpful. I have been here at least a dozen times, and I have had a few issues with order accuracy, but it has always been promptly corrected. The parking lot is a nightmare so be prepared, there are a lot of businesses, and I don't think there is sufficient parking so it's hectic 9 times out of 10. It's smaller than I thought it would be, but still could be a place to come do work. I didn't see the WiFi password around but I did see people working and they do have a connection. Average price of drinks is $5.50 probably. The milky ones are more expensive than the "Fresca" (regular tea) ones. Their magic matcha drink for $7 seems a bit of an overkill. You can put add ons like boba for extra cost. Got the matcha Madagascar vanilla for $5.75 and you can taste the splash of milk. I said no sweetness for mine and it still tasted sweet probably from the vanilla. I enjoyed. It was pretty large though and you could definitely split it with someone. Been here a number of times, service is always ok. This time I came after work to pick up something to drink before heading home and boy... I was the only person in there, ordered 2 matcha drinks and the rice balls, it took 20 minutes. Then when I carried my drinks out the lid wasn't even sealed and the drink spilled. A little annoying to wait that long and your cup sealer isn't even working. Giving 3 stars, since usually it's not this bad. If you're a matcha lover I would highly recommend going to Junbi, double if you're a UTD student as it's also pretty close to campus. Overall I'd rate this place 8s/10, they have great boba options and some delicious onigiri as well. Sadly this place doesn't have immaculate study vibes, so don't plan on coming here to get some work done. Sadly they were out of furikake for the onigiri when I got it, so I have to give it a 7/10. There definitely was a need for seasoning/salt. Otherwise the salmon filling was pretty good, you can't really mess up a ball of rice. You could taste the authentic matcha (not overpowered by sweetness like other places) and it combines so well with whatever they add do it. (Review #8) Fairly new tea place that opened earlier this year. This store's focus is matcha-centric. A lot of their tea options are matcha base while mix/blending that with other teas / drinks. I've tried their straight teas, and while those were fine, I definitely think their strong point would be the blended/mixed tea drinks. They also have a fair amount of add on toppings. Any of the fruit matcha teas are good to try for a first timer, note they also allow substitutes for whole milk including: oak milk, organic coconut milk, and organic soy milk.
