Recently, May 7, 2025 my sisters (2) and I were traveling to visit our sister (1). We stopped for breakfast at this location and had excellent customer service and food! Upon reaching our traveling destination(2 hours away) I discovered that my wallet was missing. I had left it at the restaurant and when I tried to call, the restaurant had already closed for the day. The next day at opening time (5am) I called the restaurant owner and was gratefully told my wallet was there secure in their safe. What a relief! The staff had tried to contact me through Facebook. All this to say that there are truly honest people in this world and I hope they are all rewarded 10 times over! Thanks to a very thankful customer. read more

We Just stopped with a friend for a quick breakfast. We love their coffee, very good. Pancakes and my husband's eggs and sausage were cooked just tight. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We will be back again. It was very clean and well lit. read more

We had the lunch special. The Roast Beef. I had green beans, creamed potatoes and fried okra to go with mine. The Roast beef was tender and delicious. The green beans were amazing with onions and bacon in them. It was an amazing lunch for only $8.15. I highly recommend this place. read more

A group of us stopped in for breakfast on our way to flying home after goose hunting. It was funny to see all the locals turn their heads as we walked in as we were clearly from out of town. We have ate at 166 several times before the pandemic and the food service was terrible. It's just as bad. I've encountered 2 waitresses who are friendly and upbeat, all the others act as if they could careless. If you ask for your food, theres one waitress who makes you feel as if your a inconvenience. When you come make sure and NOT have a big group (nothing larger than 4) we are a family of five and wait at least an hour for our food. If you are ever through Pocahontas, AR, be sure to stop by this little "Dive" restaurant. It's Divey in all the right ways. Gravel parking lot? Check! Experienced waitresses? Check! Down home food? Check! Check! I stopped in on a Saturday around 2:00, running a little late for breakfast. We were on the bike so we were ready for a cool place to land. Our waitress was on a break outside but when she saw us, she darted back in quickly to greet us and take our drink orders. The menu is what you would expect, fried Catfish, Patty Melt, fries and such. My wife ordered the Catfish and hush-puppies, I ordered the Patty Melt and fried mushrooms. (they subbed mushrooms for fries). I thought that was cool. We struck up a conversation with a patron about directions and soon our steaming hot plates had arrived. I realize that this is not a fine dining restaurant but how many times do all of the items that you order meet and or exceed expectations? The Catfish was perfectly fried, not too much, not soggy, and not too salty! This is missed by so many places. The hush-puppies were rescued from the oil just in time to enjoy them in all of their glory... They were not just corn meal, they were fluffy and very tasty. Hush-puppies are usually a complete non event for me but these were memorable. My Patty Melt? Well how good can it be? It actually tasted like grilled beef. The bread was not used as a sponge to soak up grease from the burger. They must have actually patted the excess grease from the burger and rested it on the lightly buttered toast with a generous helping of cheese. Tasty combination of flavors, as it should be. The fried mushrooms were skillfully fried, drained and presented in a basket. The mushrooms on the bottom were crisp, just like the ones on top! We were getting ready to ride away when the cook, ( a young man in his 30's maybe) stepped outside to ask us how the food was.. We told him our review and he was very genuinely touched! He said in all the time he had been at the restaurant, he had never seen anyone photograph his food. He was a little shy and I could tell he was a little overwhelmed with the compliment. They deserve a chance to serve you on your next trip! BTW we stopped there again on our way back on Monday. Had a great Chef's Salad. Junction 166 opens @ 5am & is one of the few independent restaurants that has made it in this area. It's a big space, but if the parking lot is full, you might have to wait a few. Waitresses hustle like in the ole Flo's sitcom. Kitchen puts out plate after plate after plate. Don't recall ever seeing one sent back. Virtually all home cooking dishes are on the menu. Ham Steak breakfast & Fried Chicken lunch are my faves. Everything I've eaten has been delicious. O those homemade pies / cobblers / cheesecakes!!! The restaurant is self seating, so you get to pick where in the restaurant you sit. As far as I know it's locally owned, and it definitely has the hometown diner feel. The staff is always happy to see you and gives you a warm welcome and light conversation almost every time. The food is also consistent, always comes out hot and has a classic southern feel. There's a bit of a wait sometimes but that's only when they're incredibly busy. Don't get me started on the desserts. They are phenomenal! I definitely recommend the coconut pie if it's available that day. Overall good experience with this place. read more

I was very excited to try out this place since I was from another state and the reviews seemed really good. However, my review is based on the food. It had absolutely no flavor. My food, as well as the other people in my party's food, was bland. I can not recommend this place base on this. I am also not a big fan of lots of seasoning but this was the exact opposite. Not one item of food we order had any flavoring except for the sausage patties. Every other item was so bland and not worth the money spent. We were there at 10 A.M. on a Sunday. I had fried chicken and it was very good. My Husband had breakfast with the biscuits and gravy. He was also very pleased. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Loved the Southern accent our waitress had! Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you got. Wow! Came into town from Florida for my grandfathers funeral and just happened to find this gem of a cafe. The food was wonderful and the service (Debbie, I think was her name) was impeccable! I felt like I was with family. The owner was at the table next to us and you wouldn't have known she just met us. It's a must if you want more than just a plate of food. It'll be hard to find another good spot like this. Think I'll have to travel back to see these folks again. read more

I've eaten at the 166 so often I know the waitresses on sight and they know me. I can order without looking at the menu. I usually order breakfast even though they NEVER get the eggs right. I suspect they use a too hot grill. Their bacon is outstanding. I've ceased ordering breakfast pork chops because the are barely thicker than slab bacon. The breakfast steak is still good, however. I think they make their gravy from a mix which is a shame because excellent gravy can be made from scratch in about the same amount of time it can be made from a so-so mix. The Junction 166 usually closes at 2 in the PM although they stay open late on Friday and Saturday. If it were me, I'd stay open a little later on Sunday, too, to get the church crowd. But that's just me. I prefer soft scrambled eggs but after dozens of attempts to order them and failing, I now order eggs at the 166 over easy and cut them up on my plate. Because they keep their griddle too hot, expect your scrambled eggs and omelettes to be overcooked and dry. Consider yourself warned. I like the 166. I like the good fellowship and I like the good service. I like going to a restaurant I know well and where I can be comfortable. Despite the fact they always abuse my eggs, I always tip between 15 and 20 percent. Even more if the waitress flirts. read more
