Junction Restaurant is just east of Pagosa Springs, CO, on the outskirts of town. Overall, this is a family-oriented restaurant that serves beer and offers a decent kid's menu. Huge sign. Large parking lot. Wolf Creek Gifts inside. My significant other and I walked in and were seated after a long pause. I was quite perturbed that the ladies' room was out of service. There was one open all the way through the gift shop, but what a pain in the rear. Especially when you have a post-wedding hangover. Lol. Speaking of hangover... Cindy, our waitress, was super friendly and checked on us often. Maybe too much because I got annoyed when she said our food was on its way three different times. From the breakfast menu on 8/11/2024, I decided on the Breakfast Skillet ($11.95) which entailed two eggs my way, ham, mushrooms, cubed potatoes, and chiles topped with melted cheese. It also came with my choice of bread or tortillas. I highly recommend the tortillas. Slowest cashier/hostess ever. She charged me different items than what was on our handwritten ticket too. This was our first time at Pagosa Springs in the Fall and it was absolutely beautiful. On our last day we decided to have breakfast at the Junction Restaurant and had a filling meal. Our waitress was Ellie and she was very friendly and checked on us as regularly as she could but you could tell that they were short staffed. She was thoughtful enough to apologize for the wait because it took about 45 mins to get our food. When the food arrived, none of us were disappointed. The food was delicious. I opted for the Breakfast Skillet and it was very filling with a lot of flavor. Each plate was heavily filled so you won't leave hungry. The wait may be long but the food is worth it if you have the time. If you aren't in a hurry and the weather is just right, eat outside and enjoy the views. read more

We stopped by on our way to mesa verdes national park. Service was great! Sweet server gave recommendations away from poor choices and about extra charges. My husband and I had the hamburger steak diet plate with mushrooms and onions. Side salads came with it and the waitress gave us a bowl of dressing so we would have enough, because who doesn't need a bit extra blu cheese dressing!? The salad was fresh with carrots, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. The burger was delicious!! Not the lean type, lt had lots of flavor and juicy:)The club soda really good too. Driving to Durango and getting hungry . Not many places to eat between home and Pagosa Springs. Saw a restaurant with lots of cars in the parking lot, so hey let's stop here. The restaurant interior was cool - wood throughout: walls, beams and posts. Elk paintings & taxidermy elk adorned the wall. Pagosa Springs is in the middle of elk country. Definitely a rustic feel to the place. A check of the menu - lots of choices. So we settled on the rib eye steak and shrimp and Philly Cheese Steak. Meals arrived and I cut in my steak it was cooked as ordered, a pleasant surprise. But it was tough. Huh? Rib eye isn't supposed to be tough. At least the shrimp was good. It was time for our late lunch/early dinner stop while driving from Colorado Springs to Durango. It was the first restaurant we saw after miles and miles of green scenery, and we needed to get our stretch on. We were seated right away, and chose an outdoor seating on an amazing 82 degree weather day. Our cravings? Appetizer: Mushroom and cheese stick combo Husband: Jumbo shrimp with potato salad Me: Liver and onions with a side of rice Kid: Mac n cheese OK, so here's the deal. The food is above "meh". It's exactly the way you imagine it. Deep fried appetizers, shrimp, thinly sliced liver, which was a little overcooked with chopped onions, and a mac and cheese that would satisfy any child. The food is good, not great. I give them a good rating because the service is excellent, the patio seating was wonderful, and the gift shop gave us a little fix that we walked away satisfied. The Man and I stopped here for breakfast after a recommendation by some locals. A true original country diner with simple yet delicious food. Pricing was fantastic and the portions were wonderful. I don't think I have seen the Man eat that much for breakfast before . He enjoyed the chicken fried steak with some sides and I had the pancakes with eggs and sausage. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have higher ratings. We've been coming to this spot for over 20 years. It's a tradition to stop here and eat before we head back to Texas. We started off with coffee and water. A fun table game is there for anyone to enjoy. It's a good brain teaser. I ordered the full order of biscuits and gravy- it comes with a big bowl of gravy and 3 large biscuits. Definitely shareable. It's only $4.95 We also got the one egg breakfast. Choice of one egg, bacon, toast and hash brown. It's was so good! Only $3.95 Hubby got the chicken fried steak and eggs and that was a show stopper. We have eaten here a few times (in a pinch) & have to salt & pepper & green chile our food to get some flavor out of it - there's a reason there are tons of condiments on each tables. The 'dip' on the French Dip was warm, brown water. The SW Chicken sandwich was fair - dry, not a much flavor. Favorite breakfast spot everrr! I honestly don't know why there are so many negative reviews this place is bomb! I had the skillet and biscuits and gravy (amazing) my husband got the huevos rancheros with green chili sauce and the little one got pancakes and bacon. Everything was very good! The Junction restaurant was a last minute lunch stop in between sledding hills, and we're so glad we stopped! Our picky party of 6 all loved their food (best patty melt I've had in a long time!), our server was so sweet and attentive, and bonus: we thought their souvenir shop had the best selection of shirts and sweatshirts around! Okay I understand that this is you're typical roadside restaurant and it is very touristy. Complete with a large gift shop. But when we stopped in today we had a great experience. The service was absolutely outstanding! The friendliness here is beyond any expectation I've ever had. The food was prepared and tasty. And no, it's not 5 Star dining but it's more than acceptable. What's nice is that there is plenty of parking - even for big rigs. We tried to eat at a couple of restaurants nearby but no parking but we'll definitely go back to the Junction. We stopped here for dinner over the weekend. My husband picked this place out and I was not impressed. The staff are very nice and helpful. We both ordered the rainbow trout and it came out very dry and no seasoning on the fish at all. You only have the 1 daily vegetable option, really! Only baked potatoes or French fries. I asked for a sweet potato, but that option was not available. The only thing that was good was their salads actually had Romain and spinach instead of crappy lettuce. We sat in Cindy's section.. she was amazingly fun and friendly- gave us some local tips along w a little SASS back- which I love!! It's not a fancy Hipster place at all, the food is good- typical AM breakfast. French toast was good. Eggs over easy were eggs over easy... I like the little store attached... I will say- serve was excellent 2/3 times we've been here. Our first visit was LONG ago greater than 6 months and that visit was the poor service- recent visits have been excellent... They were out of several items our group ordered, brought incomplete orders and one person in our party did not get her food until the rest of us were almost finished. Tasted like school cafeteria food. Wilted lettuce in the salad, fatty roast beef in the French dip, and the au jus was fatty grease, frozen chicken fried steak and overcooked salmon - that was supposed to be cod. I read the reviews on this and still wanted to try it. I was instantly seated. Warm and welcoming hostess. Very sweet waitress, Cynthia, and my food was at the table in a decent amount of time. Very homey place. Lots of hunters coming in. They got super busy while I was there, but my coffee cup never ran dry, thanks to my waitress and the hostess. Bargain priced, and decent food. Good variety in the menu. I had the 10oz Ribeye, and the dinner was well worth the $15. We own property in Pagosa and go there frequently, and there are primarily two types of restaurants in Pagosa... overpriced, and underserved. You either get gouged for a decent meal, or you end up with incredibly slow service for substandard meals (Boss Hoggs included!). We enjoyed our meals, they arrived quickly, and it was all reasonably priced. I'm only deducting a star based on the mixed veggies which were clearly from a frozen bag and not fresh. They weren't bad... but the texture was off a bit. We will be back! read more
