    Blueberry pancake with sliced bananas

The Rose is like stepping into gram's house: settling in and getting cozy, having Saturday morning breakfast with all your favorites and leaving with a full belly and a smile. The china wall with pops of color, the rose covered ceiling panels, white coffee cups in a row... you've stepped back in time. Home cooking, friendly faces and easy going vibes - this is the Rose. He had their Western Hash and I had their Green Chili Omelette. We split a blueberry pancake with sliced bananas. Warm syrup FTW. Everything was tasty and well seasoned - home cooking good. Hash browns for miles and coffee at the ready. Despite the roadwork, it was well worth the quick 2 minute walk to navigate everything.

Good food and decent prices. We loved the chile in the huevo rancheros but they skimped on the meat. It came with only one slice of bacon which typically at most places you get a minimum of two. Had we known we would have ordered extra but we called in our orders to go.

Hash brown with over-medium eggs smothered in cheese. Amazing.

Oh one of The Best Breakfasts I've had in a long time. I was craving hash browns and that's what I got, (crispy hashbrowns, eggs, covered in melty cheese with a side of amazing green chile) along with friendly service and a relaxing vibe. Priced right. Huge portions. Wonderful food. Great service. Yes. Go here for breakfast or lunch - you won't be disappointed.

This place was full of what appeared to be locals and I can see why. The service was very friendly and quick. They were super sweet to my kids, as well as my family who didn't speak English, so thank you for that! I had the burrito smothered in green chile (you knew I would) and it was fantastic. My daughter had an omelet with the same chile and she loved it, and my husband had the biscuits and gravy which he also enjoyed. Our family from Japan liked their omelets. The restaurant is very cute and clean, and has a rustic Western feel.

Just an update, we've been to three to four breakfast spots since our last visit at the rose, and there is no comparison to the pancakes

Pagosa Toast, Apple panini, and country fried steak

My husband and I came for breakfast at the recommendation of a local. We got the Pagosa toast to share, the apple panini and the country fried steak separately. All were delicious with plenty of food! We weren't able to finish everything. The staff is friendly and helpful. The ambiance is perfect for a homey feeling. A lovely little spot :)

On our way to Durango, we stopped in Pagossa Springs for lunch. The town was overloaded with tourists, and all the restaurants had a wait. We selected the Rose, a quaint American cafe. The wait was about 15 minutes. The restaurant is small. The decor is definitely Western farm style, and the attention to detail was impressive. Our server was friendly and helpful. However, she was slammed. My wife ordered the steak sandwich, and when it came, there was no Mayo. It was a while before we saw the server again to ask for the mayo, and then she forgot. Our water glasses remained empty for a long time. I ordered the chicken strip dinner with fries and salad. The dinner came with four strips. They were good, the cream gravey was good. The fries were good. The salad was good. No complaints with the meal, but no wow factor with it. I rate the meal a 3/5. About the same with Jan's steak sandwich. It was OK, but nothing to get excited about. Another 3/5. The Rose offers friendly service, a nice environment, and good, but not great food.

The accent wall is just the start. The food has lots of options. Very kid friendly.

Service is friendly. Portions and options are great. Dry clean. Love the ambience. Several options on the menu have green chile. Red chile is even gluten free.

Yummy! Came here for an early lunch - Easy walk from the Springs Resort, and easy to find parking if you're driving. Chicken salad sandwich, crispy chicken and bacon ranch wrap and house salads were very good. The tomato on the chicken salad sandwich was sooo thick and ripe - such a great sign of quality ingredients! Very cute inside; happy decor and so clean and bright! Hostess/waitress was very nice and fast! Deff recommend!

Brunch options are the most well known but I think they'd be good for other meal times too. I personally got the Liege Belgian waffle with strawberries, banana, and whip cream and I thought it was absolutely amazing. The pearl sugar, the textures, and flavors! One of my favorite waffles I've ever had. I will be thinking about this whenever I crave a waffle in the future. Just the right amount of sweetness and crunch! My friend got the Hash Smash bowl. I got to taste a small bite and I found the aioli sauce to be delicious. Speaking of sauces, they have hot sauce buckets with a bunch of different ones to try. I found that very nice that they offer that and let people try a bunch of sauces they otherwise might not have had that chance to try otherwise. Also very interesting and unexpected that they happen to have boba drinks in this part of town. FYI though, their boba isn't soaked in syrup so it's bland if your drink isn't quite sugar heavy enough itself. Highly recommend the restaurant look into that and soak their bobas to take the drinks to the next level. Lastly, their menu seems to change quite often and the pics on yelp don't reflect the current menu anymore. You may see dishes/drinks missing or on there that you didn't expect.

After having pulled an all-nighter then stopping by Four Corners before breakfast, we were both hungry and the street designers, combined with navigation difficulties led me to play "ask a local", who guided us to #thelonespurcafe. The decor was pretty cool and reminded us of an old-western man cave. Having multiple factors working against me, my narcolepsy and cataplexy on full blast and I was actually afraid to fall asleep at the table especially as REM intrusions can't be fought off easily. Thankfully the coldness of the iced tea along with chugging water helped the sleepiness. I ran this review a little differently than usual, directing this review towards our waitress, Stevie, who turned out to be a good sport despite my playing the difficult but friendly customer. If you've never worked as a server, you really shouldn't judge them harshly on little mistakes (like forgetting a drink - what's more important is that they remember at some point soon after!!) because the job is much harder than it seems and there's a lot going on behind the scenes that customers don't know . The bowl of chili (smaller than we expected) accompanied by the biscuit restored my energy and turned out to be the perfect 1 pm breakfast! Definitely 4/5. We're looking forward to coming back for some real breakfast in the future... #gourmetrecovery #sundayrestaurantreview #narcolepsyawareness #cataplexyawareness #benicetowaitstaff
