We often visit Junction Square when we visit from up valley to take home pizza and antipasto salad. The new owners have taken it to an even higher level of excellence. We stopped by on Mother's Day and they were closed. The new owner Aaron was there and cooked pizza and prepared a salad for us. We appreciated it so much. I recently had surgery on my leg and when we knew we would be in grand junction I chose this for my special Mother's Day meal! First visit since they moved. We were frequent visitors prior to the move. I ordered online for pick up. Order placed at 5:16. It said it would be ready at 5:36. I arrived at 5:45. Walked out the door at six. There is no waiting area(outside or inside)at the new restaurant unless you sit at the bar. After waiting and hearing other customers when I finally got my pizzas I checked them. I did not check my cheesy garlic bread unfortunately. When I got home, opened it up only to see it was plain bread with the smallest amount of butter and no seasoning. Hopefully things will get better as they get in a groove. This pizza spot is pretty darn good, although it's pretty basic. I've been to Junct'n Square Pizza a couple times now, and it's becoming a must-stop when I'm out in the GJ area. My aunt first took me here, because they offer a GF pie; and it's pretty darn good! What I really love about Junct'n Square is they are attentive, clean, kind, and try their best to adhere to GF needs. I also love that their large GF is actually a decent size, at a decent price. If you need a GF meal, they will make efforts to prepare it as such, and won't roll their eyes at you in the process. The rest of the family doesn't need GF, so they always order the Square Meal Deal. The anti-pasta salad is big, and is perfect to share with the whole table. It's also GF, so I can partake, too. It's also a basic salad, but again tasty. The pizzas are always cheesy (both GF and regular), saucy, and hot and fresh. There's nothing here that I would say, makes this place a mind-blowing foodie experience, but it's 100% satisfying, fresh, affordable, welcoming, and an all around win. Disappointed. I loved the pasta with the melted mozzarella and garlic bread. Went back for the 1st time since the big move. Ordered the same item I always order and they bring out a $15 dollar plate of spaghetti with sauce. No cheese, no garlic bread. I am so sad. I loved eating here. read more

Place a has been around forever. For me it's just ok. This was first time we dined in. The servers were good. Food was ok. $80 before tip. We got anti pasta, breadsticks, small pizza, one fettuccine and one kids size pizza. Dinner for 4 with some leftovers Please note they have their own fenced parking lot but we couldn't utilize the handicap spot for my grandmother. Apparently it's been around for a long time, but all I know is that we were looking to murder some pizza after a day of hiking and square deep dish pizza seemed like the right choice. It's not a true deep dish--this is served up in a metal casserole dish type tray and cut to squares, but it's not the cheesed-up, sauced-out version you'd get in Chicago. It's a little more Detroit style, which was fine by me. We got the meal for two, and antipasti salad and a small pizza. The salad is a pretty basic salad based, but then topped with meats and cheeses in generous portions. We chose plain old pepperoni as the topping which was 100% the right call. It's plenty bready, still very cheesy, and my only quibble is that it probably could have taken 2 more minutes in the oven. All that dough needed just a couple more mins to finish baking and not be so doughy. Not in a bad way, just maybe that soft of doughy top is not everyone's favorite. It's located right in old Grand Junction near the very adorable Main Street, so it's a great stop for anyone in town, for a mid-shopping lunch or dinner, or just an easy bite when you're hankering for some pizza. read more

We have lived in GJ since 1980 and have been a faithful fan of Jct Sq. Pizza. Lately our favorite menu item has been the Square Meal Deal because it is a great salad and pizza combo. Jct Sq Pizza has never failed to make it a good deal for us. I would say since 1980 we have probably had at least 100 meals at Jct Square. Today we just got back home after a strenuous day of travel and I called at 7:25 to order the Square Meal Deal for take out. The snippy and totally unpleasant person that answered the phone informed me they no longer did take out after 7:30. I inquired as to the current time (honest it was7:25) and she informed it was too late. No way possible to place a take out order. I begged and promised to pick up before 8:00. But no go. So we went elsewhere with great results. I highly recommend Dorio's on North Ave. They were pleasant and the pizza and antipasto salad was awesome even though I couldn't get there before 8:15 they did a fine job. Sorry Junction Square. If you are looking for a true deep dish pizza or "AKA" Detroit style pizza you have one choice in GJ and that is Junction Square Pizza. The crust is amazing. This is my go to for take out pizza. But they do have a great out door seating around, after we get through the 100's temperature in the summer time. Late summer, fall and spring are great times to be outside with an amazing deep dish pizza. read more

We had a great experience the first time we ate here. We ordered pizza and was very satisfied with quality and service. The second time we went there it was quite the opposite. My husband had lasagna and I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. The lasagna was okay but the spaghetti and meatballs were disappointing. The marinara was good, the meatballs were poor quality. They tasted like the ones you can get in the store in the frozen food section. For the price that we were charged I totally expected homemade meatballs. I haven't decided if I'm going back yet., Definitely not eating meatballs! the floors were somewhat dirty, especially after the server wiped everything from the table onto the floor, including a piece of pizza and then never picked it up. I picked up my first order today. The restaurant has great atmosphere. The staff that I encountered were courteous and had a great customer service attitude. The pizza is pretty darn good. I was not satisfied with the antipasto salad. A medium sized antipasto salad cost a little over $15 so I was expecting a traditional antipasto salad. Turned out to be around 2lbs of iceberg lettuce with a very minimal amount of toppings that only included a little cheese, diced ham and tomatoes. Not traditional , which would add olives, pepperoncinis, pepperoni, artichoke hearts and more cheese. If you are a fan of antipasto then you will more than likely be disappointed with the cost and the fact that it is an overpriced and under topped garden salad. Definitely not the quality we are used to. In all the years we have been going to Junction Square this was the worst pizza we have ever had. First the order was wrong we asked for a large thin crust mushroom pizza with half pepperoni and half ham. The sauce was on top of the pizza like an afterthought. It has never been made like this. The salad was enough far a small army. I asked for a salad that would feed 2. I was given a medium which feeds a whole lot more than 2. I love this place so much. It's my go to spot for lunch or dinner when I visit family in Grand Junction. The restaurant has been fully renovated and looks good, though the plates and cups need updated now. The family always gets a medium antipasta salad that is a crisp bed of shredded iceberg lettuce, topped with tiny diced cubes of cheese, ham, salami and tomatoes all served with a creamy Italian dressing. I always say that's satisfying where I don't need pizza, but who am I kidding!?! The deep dish Detroit style pizza has crispy edges and is the perfect amount of cheese and sauce. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. But, lots of great pizza in the area, so I only now got there for lunch. First, I want to commend the servers - both were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Because I always am hungry and pizza takes a little while, I ordered a salad and a half order of bread sticks with marinara sauce. You have 3 salad choices: Antipasta (sic), Vegetarian antipasta, or Andy's Ultimate Antipasta Salad. The Andy's has additions of pepperoni, ham, olives, tomatoes, green peppers and olives to the basic version (with tomatoes and salami). The bread sticks were disappointingly doughy to me. Like the accompanying marinara sauce, not horrible, but not compelling. Still - they come fast and are something to munch on while eating (a half order is 3 bread sticks and a full is 6). The Andy's Ultimate Antipasta Salad has gotten such good reviews (on-line and from family) and I was looking forward to it. We shared a small (there are 4 sizes, starting at mini and going to large). Looking at it, I was happy - lots of meat chopped small, good crisp lettuce and veggies, and a circle of pepperoni around the bowl. We were given tongs to serve ourselves and a little pitcher of an Italian-esque dressing. Everything was SO cold that there was no discernible flavor. Might be better as a take out. And definitely needed some acid - either some pepperoncini peppers or a sharper dressing. To me it was bland. They did one really good thing - they layered the ingredients through the salad, they were not just plopped on top. By this time, I didn't have high hopes for the pizza. We had ordered the small deep-dish square version with additions of sausage and green peppers. I was aware they serve a "Detroit" style deep dish (as opposed to the VERY different Chicago or Sicilian styles). I liked it. The edges had climbed up the sides just a little, giving some very thin tendrils of cheese and dough that almost felt fried to a crunch. The pizza dough was tender, but chewy (probably the same as the bread sticks, but it works better here). The toppings were not generous - the sausage was nicely sprinkled over the top, but the green pepper was one sliver per slice. I wanted more. But, all in all, I liked the chew of this pie and I loved the fact that the tomato sauce was ladled over the top. Nice moistness. Also the pizza was not overly cheesy, which is a huge plus to me. Felt light, but satisfying. I had been wishing that they had a "deluxe" or "special" version instead of having to get a plain pizza and add ingredients. When I asked (later), I was told that they do have one. But, on their menu, it is listed under "House Specials" below a pasta combination meal. And, it isn't called out as pizza - just as a small or large Special. Hmm. Menu could use work - there is no definition of what the salads are composed of, what the style of pizza is, and how big the sizes of salads or appetizers are. Ambiance is clean and modern. There are 2 levels - lower has booths and small tables, upper has tables. Nothing really to look at here, though. The restrooms are very clean and have nice decor. There is a small outside dining area for the summer. Beer and wine are available (and they include New Belgium beers). So, I'm saying A-OK. Probably go back for the deep dish again sometime. Or try one of their well priced lunch deals. Glad I went. read more

This is the first place I beg my mom to go for lunch or dinner anytime I visit home. I associate Junction Square with home and when I lived in Denver, I used to get large antipasto salads to go every time I went home for a weekend and eat them for the next week. Yes, I now live in Chicago and everyone says I'm so lucky to get such great pizza here, but frankly, I'll take Junction Square over any Chicago pizza any day. First, the square pizza corners are fantastic. I really like how they get crispy. They are buttery and delicious. Second, the antipasto salad is incredible. Meat, cheese, and lettuce? Yes please. I usually mix ranch and Italian for my dressing- both are great. Service when dining in can be spotty, but I'm never in a rush so I really don't care. read more

NO! After a disappointing initial visit we decided to try it again as were were going to an event at the Avalon theater. They did not disappoint as the food was just as mediocre as before. The pizza was awful with just a little sauce and about as tasty at the take-out box they provide. The last time I was there I ordered a calzone that was pretty dry so upon request they served me a 1oz plastic cup of marinara and charged 75 cents for a penny's worth of bland canned sauce. The "deep dish" pizza we had on our first visit was basically a loaf of white bread lightly dusted with some kind of red sauce and some cheese. If they served that in Chicago the owners would have been taken out in the alley and shot. A FROZEN PIZZA FROM A GAS STATION IS BETTER THAN THIS PLACE! Three strikes you're out. read more
