I love munchies and it's perfect for what it is. This is a no-frills spot where you walk up to order grab a number and then your food will be brought to your table. The inside is like a casual diner like vibe. It is big with lots of space as well as booths and tables to choose from. They have a wide selection of American food at very reasonable prices. It is one of the few places you can get a meal for like 12 bucks. I like getting their specials like the spaghetti or the fish and chips. I was given the most mediocre Reuben sandwich I've ever eaten in my 71 years! There was only a bare hint of sauerkraut, perhaps a teaspoon's worth and that's being generous. Then they drowned it in Thousand Island dressing I assume to make up for the scarce sauerkraut. The meat was OK nothing to write home about but if the bread was toasted I sure couldn't tell it. Toasted bread should be crispy, not soggy and soft. Do yourself a favor and do what I'm going to do: NEVER order a Reuben sandwich there again!!!! read more

Wow. I never leave one star, but this place barely deserves that. I have tried the one in Grand Junction too and they are both terrible. The quality of the food is awful and poorly prepared. They really need to use better ingredients and learn how to cook. The chicken strips might as well have been chicken nuggets from McDonalds and my husband said that the city of Philadelphia should sue them over their cheesesteak. The fried mushrooms were frozen in the middle and the salad had the weirdest and cheapest ingredients I could have imagined. First off, I don't know if these two things are correlated. We had a pizza delivered a few weeks back. When the young lady came to the door my dog got out. No big deal, he's a good dog and doesn't wander. But the girl commented on how cute he was. Anyway, the next day a guy tried to get into our gate. He was there to kidnap my dog. He ran when he realized the gate was locked from the inside. He jumped in his car and sped away. I can't say 100% that the two go together but was suspicious. As far as the food goes it's good. Normally I wouldn't have been as upset as I am right now, but after I called and talked to Mike the owner, he called me rude because when his delivery driver dropped off the food I asked her if the ranch was in the bag. Today we tried the corn dogs and pizza. The corn dogs came nice and hot. Not bad for $2.20. The pizza was lacking the sauce flavor. Tasted a lot of cheese and pepperoni. It was crisp on the end, but soft bread in the middle. Not terrible, but not as tasty as Dominoes or Papa Murphy's. Pay extra for toppings. Sadly the fries were not fresh and hot today. We came about quarter till 4 on Saturday. Maybe things are better when they are busy. HOWEVER, their twist chocolate and vanilla cone was extra creamy and satisfying. When we left, the seats were filling up. I think next time we'll go when it's busy so the fries will be hot. But I don't recommend the pizza Still, there are a lot more menu items to try before make up my mind about this place. Next I will try the pastrami sandwich. read more

I am new to the area and haven't eaten restaurant food in weeks due to COVID. Tonight I decided to order pizza and found a local restaurant, Munchies Pizza. I called for delivery. The woman on the phone took my address and said: "We don't deliver that far". I explained that it's 2.8 miles, a 4-5 minute drive. She then explained the delivery radius to me and it seems they do deliver much further in the north and east directions. But not south, down the same main road they are located. She told me she didn't understand it either and it was on "issue with the owner". So I decided to put on my mask and go pick it up. She was very courteous and friendly on the phone and offered to bring the pizza out to my car so I didn't have to come inside. I really appreciated that offer. I proceeded with my order, a 14" pizza with sausage, onion, and double mushroom (see receipt pic). ~$20. Felt a bit expensive but it's my first take-out in a long time and I felt good supporting a local business. The woman on the phone asks me if I want a shake, I decline. She asks if I'd like anything else. I asked "what's the most popular item?" and she said, "well, I really don't like the pizza here, I don't eat it, but there are many other great things." This was a bit odd to hear after just ordering a pizza but I went with it and finish the order. I picked up the order 15 minutes later. I was impressed it was ready to go. The checkout was easy and quick. I brought the pizza home and when I opened the box I first thought I had the wrong order. I ordered sausage, onion, and double mushroom. You be the judge from the photo. The bottom line, I'm disappointed. I won't return. I hope the best for the business. It looks like a fun place and I know everyone needs jobs right now but customer service should still count. A quality product should still matter. read more

Munchies is hands down one of the best places to eat in Fruita, definitely the best fast food. There's no drive thru, but your order is always ready for pickup in 10 minutes. The Philly steak sandwich and deep fried mushrooms are the best. We go here when I'm craving absolute guilty cheat meals. They also make their own hamburger patties so you're not getting frozen burgers. We've eaten here several times and will come back again when Fruita. I highly recommend Munchies! read more
