Nice cottages, clean and comfortable home vibe. June pie, local store and bait shop a small walk away. Just a small inconvenience are that some windows are missing window screens, I will be coming back on October! Would definitely recommend!

This place is absolutely fabulous. They have thought of everything, and everything is brand new!! It's all clean, you can ask for more towels, dog friendly, it's so cute, love the decor. And a great location in the middle of town. So happy with this place!

Kind of tough to review considering the plus and minus encountered while staying here. Upon arrival, our cabin was ready and cleaned. The cabin layout was great with an affordable price, but I was surprised there was no air conditioner. Unfortunately, we came at one of the hottest days or week of the year, and some nights were unbearable. They had fans you can put out, but weren't very helpful in 90 degree weather. The patio with gas and charcoal grill were awesome and convenient. They provide all necessary cooking and eating utensils, dishes, and paper towels. There's a laundry room that's accessible and a fish cleaning station right outside of the laundry room. A couple of critters made themselves cozy in the room. We couldn't tell if they were ticks, but I had some sleepless nights hoping not to get bit. Overall, not a bad place to stay considering location to the marina, general store and restaurant. The cabin is fairly well kept. Not the most pleasant evening/night with the heat and critters.

The five stars aren't for the cabin, although it was rustic, clean and comfortable, and centrally located with the feel of being secluded; everything you'd hope for in a mountain experience... The five stars aren't for the fact that our little dog, and other's dogs were welcomed without a blink, and with open arms... The five stars aren't for the offerings of an on-site laundry, fish cleaning station, or BBQ with covered picnic area... The five stars aren't for the very reasonable pricing... The five stars are for Amanda and David Carmichael, the new owners. This young couple has fresh ideas and are breathing new life into the Pines, plus they are super accommodating and immediately deal with any concerns during your stay. They care. That's definitely a five-star quality! Great accommodations for two or a whole group. June Lake has a new star in the "June Lake Pines!"

A great trip with the family. When we arrived the cabin (#11) was already unlocked, warm and ready to receive the kids after being cooped up in the car for 6 hours. The cabin was just the right size for me and my 3 kids. If you are looking for a comfortable family place to stay that is directly next to the mountain, this is the location. Each morning we could wake up to a nice cup of hot coco and be in the parking lot of June MTN and on the lift within minutes. I enjoyed being back in the warm cabin with feet up in no time when we finished each day. The owners are delightful and always asking if here is anything you might need. I always overpack so I was just fine since I brought my rice cooker, crockpot and expresso machine. But the cabins have everything a normal family would need. We will definetely be back up this season and maybe even the summer if they'll have us back

I absolutely love this place. I'll be going back for my 3rd stay this weekend. It really beats all the high priced places and it's so small and cozy. The manager makes sure you have everything you need. This year my entire family decided to join us so luckily they have a 3 bedroom and 2 bedroom that are joined by a door. So convenient. And they let my dog Charlie come too!!

We originally were going to stay in cabin 7 but I realized on our way to June lake that we may needed a cabin with more rooms. I emailed June lake pines and at 7am and asked if I could switch it. She emailed me within 2 minutes and switched our cabins. So we stayed in cabin 12. It was so cozy and we loved the modern updates! Everything was soooo clean! The beds were so soft and warm. They had everything we needed in the kitchen area. My husband wished the tv was much bigger, but we spent most of the time fishing and napping. To me, it wasn't a big deal. My daughter loved having her own room across from our room. My father in law stayed in the 3rd bedroom that had a half bath. We were a short walking distance from the store, gull lake and tiger bar. Even though the owners were not onsite, they were very accommodating by responding fast with emailing and they were so very nice! We are definitely staying here again! It was such a relaxing Mother's Day weekend for me! We felt right at home!

I don't enter a lot of reviews but I've got to tell you at the Pines is a really nice quaint motel in June lake. We stayed in room nine and it was clean easy in easy out. The couple that manage the Pines are super cool. Thanks so much for a great stay

I LOVE JUNE LAKE PINES! The owners are young and hip and have transformed this older property into something fresh. I have stayed at the property 3 times now. I also stayed before it was renovated and although the rooms now are amazing, the property was so quaint and the owners were so nice that I loved it even before it was renovated. Amanda and Dave have done wonders with the place. i like cabin 10 although I think the others are really nice as well. I also purchased some of Amanda's AMAZING salve, its a MUST GET and her sister makes essential oils. All the soaps in the rooms are 100% organic which is awesome, you don't find that everywhere when you travel. I am a big fan of all natural. The kitchens are so well stocked. I cook when in June and they literally have every cooking utensil, plate, and pot you need. This is the only place to stay in June.

A fresh new contemporary look for the cottages!

Upon arrival, we were placed in a dog-friendly cabin with two beds. After unloading and preparing for bed, we immediately noticed a strong unpleasant odor and carpet that did not feel clean or appropriate for a guest room. Within the first 45 minutes of being there, my wife was bitten by what appeared to be a spider. She became distressed and wanted to leave immediately. At the same time, the area around the cabin was overwhelmed with unusually large mosquitoes, making it impossible to relax or feel comfortable. The window screens were broken or missing. We reported the situation to the front desk and explained that we had no choice but to leave. Instead of enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime family event, we ended up driving 6 hours back home so my wife could recover. Because of this experience, our entire trip was disrupted. We had to rearrange plans, absorb additional travel time and expenses, and later make another trip just to attend our son's wedding. The most disappointing part was the complete lack of follow-up and accountability. We were told multiple times that a manager would contact us and discuss a resolution. That never happened. No phone call. No concern. No refund. We stayed less than 45 minutes and left because we did not feel the cabin was clean, safe, or acceptable. Yet it cost us $2k with nor refund. I will not stop here and will follow up with and attorney to get my money back. I should have read the reviews of spider webs just like to ones behind the bed. Very disappointing experience.

When we were in route, we discovered the entire town of June Lake was without power and the motel never notified me. I only learned about the outage through social media, not from the motel staff. This wasn't a minor issue. I had my children and my dog with me, and I rely on an electrical medical device at night, so being without power was not an option. A simple call or email would have allowed me to make other plans before driving all the way there. Instead, I had to scramble to find last‑minute accommodations and ended up having to book another room in Mammoth, where there was power. This cost me extra money, extra stress, and completely derailed our trip. What made the situation even more frustrating is that the motel offered nothing no partial refund, no options, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience or safety concerns. They easily could have rented the room to younger guests or anyone willing to stay without power, but instead the responsibility fell entirely on me. I understand that they can't control a town‑wide power outage. But they can control communication and how they treat their guests. Unfortunately, that's where they fell short. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend June Lake Motel unless they significantly improve guest communication and show more responsibility during situations like this.

The rooms are actually very big and comfortable. We had a downstairs room, off in the corner, with windows and a large living space and kitchen area. We couldn't get over how spacious the bedroom was and how comfortable it was for two people. The bed was super soft. Bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels. Soft towels too! A nice little couch and a three person kitchen table. Truly a large room great for when you'll be staying a few days. It was all of the little touches that made this room great as well. The fan worked and didn't make any noise. The heater worked great. The kitchen was equipped with a large fridge, sink, microwave, Toaster, and four burner stove. It was nice that they had cups, plates, bowls, and silverware. Honestly, anything you would need to eat in. We ended up eating out pretty much every meal because we wanted to enjoy trying the local businesses, but should I ever come back I would definitely pack enough to be able to cook here because it was a great set up. Tyler made check in and check out a breeze. He was nice and didn't give us much hassle when we needed to extend our check out by 30 minutes. He was very friendly from the get and insured we had everything we needed. We appreciated his kind demeanor as we checked in after hours of traveling. The location is five stars itself because you're dead in the center of June Lake downtown with restaurants on each side of you and right behind this motel is the very popular June brewing company. The location was walkable to everything we needed. We also appreciated that they had about a 10 car parking lot. When parking spots fill up, you are welcome to park on the street no issues. We felt that the rooms were pretty soundproof from outside activity but when you are on the bottom floor, we were at the mercy of the people above us. Unfortunately, the people above us were pretty loud, but that's just the way the dicerolls sometimes. I'm sure had we went to the motel staff they maybe would've helped but it just seemed Like too much to ask because really guests should be more courteous that we don't have to tell on them or confront them. The only real negative about being on the bottom floor, but I do prefer the bottom floor as it is easy in and out/not having to carry your bags up the icy stairs etc. The good news is this downtown area is pretty quiet and most of the businesses are closed by 8/9 PM so even if there are loud people, everyone seems to be in their rooms and winding down earlier than if you were in a big city so it was still pretty comfortable and reasonable overall. I would definitely recommend this motel when staying in June Lake, and should I come back up here soon this would definitely be my #1 choice.

The cabin is a nice size for a couple, or maybe a small family, but to sleep 10?, I think it would be cramped. The fridge is a very small dorm room sized one. We could only get the front burners on the electric stove to work, and we didn't try the oven. The heater in the bathroom does not stay on,which is not great, when you go to take a shower and it's a VERY cold morning. One of the provided towels seemed to have some hard, blue stuff stuck to it. The toilet is...tilted. This is a little disconcerting if you have to get up to pee during the night and almost fall off of it! The bed in the downstairs bedroom is soft. VERY soft....and sinks into the middle. My husband and I basically kept rolling into each other all night and had to fight for space. The futon in the living room did not make for a very comfortable couch at all, and would take a SOUND sleeper to be able to sleep on it. The heater in the living room area seems to work well, and we didn't need the one in the bedroom as it seems to stay pretty warm if you keep the door closed. We were unable to use the wood burning stove as they only provide wood during the winter months, and we didn't feel like buying any. It would be great if we could have used it though. It got down into the low 40's to high 30's at night. The whole place needs updating as it looks like it came straight out of the 50's, but not in a cool, kitchy way. The railing on the deck...we get that nobody is suppose to climb on it,but when we even touched it, the entire railing wobbled Also, the screen on one of the doors was off the track, and no matter how many times we fixed it, it was just difficult to use. The tiny TV, had a sound restrictor on it, or something, as it was very quiet and sometimes impossible to hear. The remote did not work to turn it off or on. Now, the pros. The view of the mountains, out the back is beautiful. The deck, provided with some VERY old, plastic chairs and one lounger, was ok. Would have been nice to have a little table as well, so we had a secure place to put our coffee cups, during breakfast in the morning. The kitchen, though dated, is well stocked with dishes, utensils, cookware and cleaning supplies. There are barbeques, but no shade or places to eat or sit while bbqing. There IS WiFi, and the code was provided right in the cabin. It worked pretty well the entire time. The bathtub was large enough for me to stretch out in and soak in. There is a microwave, coffee maker and toaster also provided. The place was clean, but very dated. In summary, this is a housekeeping cabin. If you are looking for maid service, room service or other hotel resort type ammenities, this is NOT the place for you. This is more basic. We will consider returning IF some things, such as the bed, stairs and railings are fixed.

Instead, when we arrived, we got a 10 minute lecture about how there is no maid service, we can't use the wood burning stove, there's no paper towels for the kitchen (at least there's East German surplus toilet paper on hand), there's a drought in California, leave your car unlocked because of bears (what?), keep the curtains closed basically always, sweep before you leave, and on and on and on. Oh, and the entry steps and landing (which is 6 feet up) - I had to pray they wouldn't crumble beneath me because the wood is so rotten - who inspects these places? Helen Keller at night? I was actually nervous every time I would enter and exit the place - what a relaxing resort-style vacation this turned out to be. Full kitchen? Look closely at the picture on the website - there is a tiny dorm-sized refrigerator that didn't freeze water after three days of it sitting in the freezer section - and that's after I spent two hours of my vacation defrosting it. There's hardly any room for one person in the kitchen, and if someone wants something, it's a total hassle to get it. And the luxurious bed - my wife would blink and the mattress bounced so much I nearly flew out of the bed. Add to that the 1960's blanket made of who knows how much polyester and you have resort-level romance in the making. Not to mention the boot-camp instructions on the wall which read, "on your last day don't strip your bed" - what? So they can see if the sheets really need to be changed or just straightened out for the next guest? Ewwww. The picture shows a comfortable looking couch, but ours was an unyielding uncomfortable futon covered with another nasty old blanket. I couldn't get comfortable while watching the 17 inch old-fashioned TV. Also, no Wi-Fi - lemme check. Yup. It's 2014. Need I say more. The entire "resort" is in disrepair and shabby. Weed growth between buildings. Parking area nothing but dirt and stones (not gravel). Solitary BBQ sitting across parking area with no seating or picnic table or anything. I like how Wikipedia puts it: "In North American English, the term "resort" is now also used for a self-contained commercial establishment which attempts to provide for most of a vacationer's wants while remaining on the premises, such as food, drink, lodging, sports, entertainment, and shopping. The term may be used to identify a hotel property that provides an array of amenities and typically includes entertainment and recreational activities". Now, take the opposite of Wiki's definition and you have The Four Season's June Lake.
