I've been oh so close on all our visits to Mammoth, and finally roads we clear to drive the extra 30 mins to June Mountain. It is an awesome mountain to board at. With wide up runs and much less crowded than other local mountains, I am definitely interested in returning here sooner rather than later. Lifts are older (kinda enjoyable actually) for mostly 2 riders per chair. Everyone must ride a lift up to get to the main lodge. From there, you can access all other lifts. Staff here was so helpful and very nice. Wind can close lifts quite frequently, so it was nice they helped us navigate the mountain with what was open.

Thank you June Mountain Team! Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the check in staff, ski lift crew, rental team, and the kitchen staff (especially the tall gentleman who served the delicious chili fries with all the fixings on top!) Thank you thank you thank you! I will definitely come back!

Great ski area! Fun trails and great terrain for every level! Some of the chair lifts are small and don't have the bar to put down which is a bit scary. Gorgeous views and awesome snow! If you're looking for a low key day that doesn't involve lines and crowds June mountain is the place to go!

Took my daughter(4years old) to her first ski lesson at June Mountain. Teagan's teacher was Ben luedtke and I can't rave enough about him. There was only four kids allowed in the class which was perfect because it felt like she had a lot of one on one time with Ben. Ben was incredible from how he spoke to the kids to how he legit in two hours got them going down a pretty good size hill on their own. He built up Teagans confidence by constantly encouraging her and working through her struggles of making a "pizza" Thank you Ben you don't know how happy you made this family.

June is a great smaller mountain to snowboard/ski at. There are less people here versus Mammoth. The trails are wider which is perfect for beginners who might need more room to practice.

The Chalet is a nice spot to take breaks before, between, and after fun on the slopes. Although it's the base of all the action, it's technically not on the bottom of June Mountain so going on a lift is required with or without your gear. It has the essentials like if you need rentals or need a restroom break. There is food available, both breakfast and lunch. Whether if you are eating pancakes or a burger, the view of mountains and June Lake is breathtaking. Even if you pack your own snacks, it's just nice to take water break and stare out the window. I suggest skipping Stew Pot Slim's higher up on the mountain and just ski or ride down to the Chalet. There's more food and seating options here. My husband and I enjoyed stopping by here.

For my 1900th review, I'd like to dedicate it to one of my favorite family mountain to ski/snowboard! After being a Mammoth season pass holder for over a decade, not sure why I never made it to this mountain until this season. This ski resort is about 30min north of Mammoth Mountain and is part of the same lift pass. It's a very small mountain with only a few ski lifts, mostly families come here. It's never crowded and the lift lines are short. The view at the top is amazing. The town is also very small and very cute. It's got the old school alpine vibe and very quint. Highly recommend! Especially on a saturday when Mammoth is super crowded.

JUNE mountain has been nothing but an amazing experience from the first time I've stepped foot on the mountain and taken my first über scenic ride up the lift called J1. The staff had been super accommodating and always super helpful every time I come to buy a pass. Specifically Emily and April who are in the ticket office. Both have always helped me when deciding the best pass to buy for the day and I couldn't ask more from them. 10/10 will keep coming here for years to come.

We came back again this year, and the experience was just as phenomenal as it was last year. God I love these runs and I love the staff here. I even ran into my ski instructor from last year (Van) and he remembered me and we shared a few laughs as he ended up being my daughters ski instructor. Van is really excellent BTW for adults and kids lessons at any level. The staff at the rentals counter is awesome and gets you in your gear quickly and with a smile. I love Mammoth a lot, but June is so much quieter and less crazy, and it's just a stunning landscape there with fantastic ski/snowboard runs. I still highly recommend it for a trip with family or friends.

It is clear and bright all throughout the day. We went in prime time of the year (right after New Years) and there was practically nobody. There is plenty of terrain for all skill levels, so a great family mountain. Only thing is the chair ride up can be a little sketchy, but going down, there is a small trail which is fun!

Ask the Community - June Meadows Chalet

Do you know if there are daycare options with June Mountain or within the community? I have a 2 yo who is not old enough for ski lessons.

Hi Tiana. Yes, there is a daycare option in June Lake, The June Lake Little Loopers. You can call them at (818) 523-8792. You can see more information here, they are the last listing on the page. Hope that helps.… Read more

The place is extremely run down, the facility looks like it hasn't changed much since it probably first open. The patio door screen had some holes, the hook for the towel was coming loose, and there is very dried dog poo on the grass. To sum it up, everything looks very dated. Pros + there able to accommodate larger groups, my extended family was able to reserve several rooms so we can all stay in one place + pool and hot tub on side + pool table in the main lobby area + walking distance to town and to the lake + cleaning house to clean your fish. + parking on site, can get packed towards the end of the day + picnic table and bbq area Cons - the WiFi doesn't work very well, especially if your room is further from the lobby area - run down facility Overall, if the aesthetic doesn't bother you. When we arrived, we were met with shockingly rude behavior. As soon as we parked, a woman, who may or may not have been the owner, yelled at us from across the parking lot while sitting with her group. Without any greeting, she told us that our dog wasn't allowed in the room. This sudden confrontation was confusing. At first, I thought she was talking about an unleashed dog that greeted us when we parked, so I said, "What dog? Sorry, that's not ours." She then repeated, "Your dog isn't allowed in 209. Dogs aren't allowed in that room!" Her tone was harsh and rude. A simple, polite introduction and explanation would have been enough: "Hello, welcome. Just so you know, room 209 is not a dog-friendly room." It was also strange how she seemed to have listened to my cousin's phone call to figure out our room number, which made us uncomfortable. Additionally, the place was poorly maintained. There was dog poop nearby, and unleashed dogs were running around, making it chaotic and unwelcoming. This experience was not just disappointing because of the poor conditions, but also because of the rude treatment we received. I mention room 209 specifically because I'm sure this rude person knows exactly what interaction this was, given that she literally did not greet us and the first thing she did was yell at us across the parking lot. As someone who works in hospitality for one of the largest companies in the U.S., I was shocked by the lack of professionalism and basic human decency. If the conditions are bad and the service is also bad, there is literally no reason to stay here and give them any business. This place sadly lives up to the worst stereotypes of small-town management. I strongly advise against staying here.

Pretty simple and easy. The rates here are much more reasonable than the prices to rent a condo in Mammoth. You can visit during peak season for not that much money. We went here in March during many good snow years with friends to go snowboarding. Both of our families would rent a 2-bedroom condo and it was spectacular. Even during holidays, they have a flat rate. For a 2-bedroom condo during Christmas and New Years it was only about $150/night. The same kind of condo in the village at Mammoth during that time would probably go for about $2000/night. The condo was awesome. It includes daily housekeeping and it's less than a 2 minute drive to the June Mountain. It had a master bedroom and one bedroom with two beds. It also had a huge living area with floor-to-ceiling windows. We could see the ski resort from our condos in the morning. How awesome is that?! It snowed over a foot of fresh powder while we were there and the next morning you could sit in a chair with a cup of coffee in your hand around 6 AM watching the ski patrol perform their avalanche control work, which is what I did. The condo also had a full kitchen with a microwave, fridge, and utensils. We had a huge balcony with a BBQ which we did not use because we were snowed in. Overall, I would stay here again. Thank you June Lake Properties for making my stay a fantastic one that I will remember forever. Highly reccomend!!
