Nice campground spot! Bathrooms are well kept with flush toilets. I believe they are kept clean by the "Camp Host", ours we're super nice and were even washing down the large trash bins! There are lots of Aspen trees for plenty of shade and tying up a Hammock. The best part is the wind blowing thru the trees! There may be Bears roaming so use the bear boxes provided to keep your food and fragranced items safe which in turn keeps you safe! Apparently some spots may be reserved and some spots are first come first served. We had reservations here and tried to move across the street to Gull Lake campground right on the water but they were all full. It's a short walk to Gull Lake where you can fish, rent boats, get fishing licences, snacks and beer! A little father is June lake and more stores and touristy shops. It's also about 30 min to the Mammoth Lakes area with lots to do there. We'll be back! Very similar to Yosemite, our favorite place! Thinking we're gonna explore here a few more times and it may become our new favorite! Only downside here... no showers. A short drive to Silver Lake Campground and your smelling good again. Or spend a couple hours at the Double Eagle Lodge with a pool and Jacuzzi... We did both!

We went on the Labor Day weekend without reservation and thank God we got to this campground just in time before everyone else started showing up! Half of this place can be reserved and the other half is first come first serve. There were no fcfs when we arrived but luckily found a reserved spot that was a no show so with Brian's help, the campsite host, we were able to take the spot! We got there at 6am and waited for Brian to show up at 8am ish, made sure that we were quiet and respectful. Everyone started coming by around the same time until about noon. It was a sh*t show with everyone asking if were leaving soon. Quite annoying if you ask me. If you're going to come here, please be respectful and stop asking campers if they're leaving soon. Look for the camp host and DO NOT go knocking on his door in the morning! He starts walking the site around 8am so just be patient! Overall, we love camping here more than Oh ridge because there were lots of shade throughout the day! I feel like it also kind of protected us from all the smoke from the fire! We will definitely come back here again.

Driveway was long enough for two trucks.

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. We reserved campsite #16 and were very please with the size and shade. The camp host was very welcoming and the campground is close to Gull lake and June lake so it's very convenient. The bathrooms were clean but one of the four was out of service and the bathrooms don't have toilet seat covers. Other than that we loved this campsite and would highly recommend it. As long as people don't mind there not being any showers haha

    Site 10, plenty of room

First time experience coming up to June Lake for the weekend and it was such a lovely getaway…read more Shoutout to my friend for taking me and showing me around. I know for a lot of people this is a nostalgic place that they grew up coming to as kids and have kept the tradition alive coming every year and so on. June lake is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking during the winter when there is snow. My friend has come here all year round and definitely agreed coming in the winter is like a wonderland. It was well worth the 5 hour drive to see snow and be in a cold and beautiful environment. While I'm sure it's lovely in the spring and summer, I'm looking for something I don't have close to home (which would be snow) so I'd definitely consider coming back again in those winter months. June lake is such a sleepy and quiet little area, it's very relaxing and calm. I felt safe being there and navigating the downtown. It's super small as far as the downtown goes, only a handful of restaurants and motels. Great for a solo traveler or someone wanting to wander around by foot. The lakes and mountains surrounding this town are picturesque and stunning. Having been to mammoth and now June lake id say if you want something more relaxing and small town vibes I'd prefer June lake over mammoth. It's got less action but if you are looking to just get away, snowboard/ski, and recharge - this is the perfect vacation destination to check out.

We asked another nice man if we could park somewhere else and walk to the lake and he said yes. We parked about half mile away and walked to the lake. When we got down there we found plenty of open parking spots. Nobody monitors how many come in and how many come out so how do they know if there is no parking. We didn't mind the walk but what was disappointing is the gate lady did not even suggest that. She just said its full and that we could not come in. She even tried to compair June lake to tahoe and say it fills up and gets busy quick. LOL sorry to tell you lady but tahoe could drop one tear and over fill june lake and tahoe don't tell people beach is full come back. That just doesn't happen at tahoe.

And it's so easy to just be able to walk down the hill to the lake and beach without having to pay $10 (if you can even find parking) in the regular beach lots. There was hardly anyone there last week bc it was just a soft opening but you could see that they were putting in a lot of work to get the spaces cleaned up before the holiday. Honestly, clearing pine cones and pine needles from the RV slabs seemed to be most of the remaining work needed IMO. The bathrooms and showers were clean, and the people working were friendly and helpful.

We are so happy to be back!…read more We were longtime customers and were really bummed when the campground closed a few years ago. It's now under new management, and we're excited to see it open again. Dana and Mike are working hard to bring the campground up to date while maintaining its welcoming atmosphere. The campsites are quiet, the bathrooms are spotless, and the showers are hot with incredible water pressure. There's also a convenient camp store where you can pick up any necessities you may have forgotten. I can't say enough good things about this campground. Whether you're dry camping in a tent, staying at a water and electric tent site, or bringing your trailer or RV, this is a fantastic place to stay. We're excited to see where Dana and Mike take this resort in the years ahead. Thank you for bringing this wonderful campground back!

It's hard to miss in the Eastern Sierra when it comes to camping, especially north of Lake Crowley…read more The June Loop has several places to camp, hike, or just relax, all with beautiful views, trees, and access to some legendary trout waters. Gull is one of the smaller lakes in the area, with plenty of fishing opportunities like her larger cousins June, Crowley, and Convict, to name a few of the hundreds. Camping is first-come, first served... and despite the signs telling you to "wait for the host," I suggest going and knocking on their camper door so someone doesn't steal it out from under you. Some of the lake is circled by cattail reeds, so shire access is perhaps more limited at times. However, Gill doesn't feature the summer annoyances of waterskiing and weekend jet-boaters like larger June does. Winter freeze hits this area hard, and the trout season ends at the latest in November up here. April is still mighty cold when it reopens... but plenty of great opportunities up here Spring through Fall.
