Last time I scheduled Junellen to clean my home, she showed up an hour and fifteen minutes late and visited her personal problems on me in order to excuse her constant tardiness and incompetance. That's when I said enough...three strikes you're out. She gave some kind of excuse each time she came...for being late, not having enough time/people to clean my house even though I scheduled weeks in advance, etc. She raised her voice at me which I've never experienced from someone I'm employing. She then left abruptly after I dared to point out her unprofessionalism and incompetance. One time she had someone clean my house who appeared to be under the influence (my opinion, but it was pretty obvious). This particular person, employed by Junellen at the time, is also a thief. Junellen told me herself. Junellen will either leave you waiting for 1-2 hours for her to arrive, completely change plans at the last minute, do a inadequate job of cleaning your house then when you complain she'll have someone come back to clean obvious, standard things she and her assistants missed like cleaning a cake of dust on top of the refrigerator or not lifting appliances up, leaving food particles under them. I could go on and on but you get the idea. Also, her prices are outrageous. In my opinion, neither Junellen nor her assistants know how to properly clean a house, or for that matter run a business. I gave her three chances and she blew it. AVOID!!!!! read more

We were in the process of remodeling our home and needed the lower part cleaned before we moved in. After reading the reviews I contacted Junellen's and set up a walk thru for 4 pm on a Monday with cleaning to be done on the next Wednesday at 1pm. Junellen came on Monday to do the walk thru at 1pm which was actually ok, since I had to go back over the hill. On Wednesday one of her cleaners came, on time, at 1pm. Based on the agreed quote from Junellen, the cleaner would spend three hours on the lower part of the house, which is the minimum time for them to work, meaning she would work until 4pm. I went upstairs to help with some of the remodel still in progress. The person cleaning spent most of her time on her cell phone and after about two hours another cleaner showed up and i was informed the first one had another job at 3:30 she needed to get to. So she left and the second cleaner finished the job after I restated what was to be done. The cleaning was ok but not stellar. We plan to hire a housekeeper for one or two times a month and I had hoped my search was over. But after my initial experience with Junellen's House Cleaning, I will continue to look for a reliable cleaning service. read more

I actually havent used Junellen's House Cleaning services due to scheduling conflicts for both of us but I wanted to comment on the customer service/communication with her. Even after we both decided that I needed to look elsewhere, we continued to chat/text and she was kind enough to provide me with a referral -- but there must be a huge demand for house cleaning here in Santa Cruz because he too was busy and was also kind enough to provide me w a referral. Im definitely not hating on Junellen and David for not being available -- good for them and their businesses for keeping busy. These companies alone with their friendliness and willingness to help even when they couldnt, will have me calling them the next time I need their services. We own a vacation rental house and have had inconsistent service from another cleaning service that we used for about 18 months. We switched over to Junellen just before the summer season and she's been great. She gets the job done when she says she will and the house is left in good shape for the next guests with even some extras thrown in, like the little strips of paper over the toilet seats to show that they've been cleaned. It hasn't been perfect there has been a hiccup or two, some of it communication issues on our part, and some of it has been illustrative of the difficulty that can be had in finding good reliable help in this business. But to her credit Junellen has always responded positively to any issues and has corrected the situation promptly. Our neighbors who are permanent residents have noticed that she spends more time cleaning than the other cleaners did and that she comes back to check in the work when she doesn't do the whole job herself. She is always very pleasant and is very good about pointing out issues that are starting to affect the house. Junellen was busy but she squeezed me in and did exactly what I needed. She was responsive, reliable, pleasant to work with and she didn't take advantage of my late notice to gouge me. Well the case seems to be that clearly something has changed within junellens company in the last 2 months . I had her clean for me recently and it was no way near the wonderful job done several months ago. This time my home was left anything BUT CLEAN. I felt as if I was in the twilight zone.... what happened! !!! She missed even the very basic's of things. And took longer to do it I think shes been in the office too long and forgot how to clean by herself. So if she was having trouble due to her old employees then she may want to think about getting them back ... Fast cause without them shes really in dire-straights, dirty ones. Junellen has provided me with confidence for *move-in and move-out* cleaning for my furnished home for tenants who stay a month - 6 months. She makes sure the home is ready for a new tenant and does a thorough job when they move out. This is extremely important.I am very impressed with the cleaning and also the finishing touches such as the way she arranges towels and places items in a pleasing manner. Let me start off on how confused I am left right now and very offended. I should of listened to my gut the first time Junellen was late to just our meeting at the property to do a walk through of the house for an estimate. She calls me 45 min past the hour that she was suppose to show up frantic stating if she could reschedule because she was running behind on a job she was still doing. Ok I decided to cut her some slack. And reschedule for the next day. I decided to read her reviews on yelp more throughly after that. Although I did find some reviews stating that she lacks time management skills and seems to be late often to a job site and doesn't do a good job, I still decided to hive her a second chance and follow through. Next day, I had to cancel. But I gave her an hour notice. She was Pleasant and understood. We rescheduled for the next day between 1-2. I waited and waited and no phone call. I actually called at 12:30 to see if she could come sooner and left a message. She never returned my call. I waited in an empty house after the movers had left and I could of gone to help my family with the rest of unloading at the other house. But no curtsy call or anything. So come 1:50, she text me "I'm at job cleaning. Another at 2:00. I have a chiro appt at 4:30. I can meet you around 3 or after 5:30. " I texted back and said we had set an appointment between 1-2" All she texted back was "ok, miss communication" I was kinda offended, because there was no Miss communication on my part. I confirmed twice the day before and we set it for between 1-2 the next day. I just didn't want to go into a he said she said because I was already exhausted from moving and she didn't give me a curtesy call back when I called before the hour she was suppose to show up. Plus she responded through text and an hour and a half later while I'm still waiting. Even after I called and stated are we still on for 1-2 I'm so glad she didn't do work for me because it seems like she lacks in time management and at that, she doesn't even have the curtesy to remember an appointment that she set. Also, she doesn't have the professionalism to call back after a potential client calls you half an hour ahead of time stating if we were still on between 1-2 and if she could come early. Than she texted (not call, but text) an hour and a half later stating that she's at another job and she can't come until 3pm ( ok, well, she said she had just finished a job, had another appointment at 2, why did you change the time to 3, and then say we had a miss communication. Then what time did we set? I'm so confused!!??) When I already wasted an hour waiting for her, when I could of been helping my family move at the other property. I do not recommend her at all, just because she lacks time management skills, no courtesy of others times when time is set, even when I called in advance she knew I was waiting. Not professional at all. And after reading more reviews, she doesn't get the job done right anyways, stated from multiple people. Good thing I had another cleaner lined up. read more

Junellen went ABOVE and BEYOND for me in a very stressful situation. My landlord was a complete NIGHTMARE throughout my whole moving out process and I don't know what I would have done without Junellen. My landlord was essentially going to keep my full deposit for claiming that the rental wasn't clean enough and that I "ruined" a master shower and needed to replace the whole thing. Junellen took time out of her crazy busy schedule and met with my landlord to do a walk through and to see what else could be done. She also put in the extra time to come in herself and make sure that everything was perfect. What else I LOVED about Junellen is that she is so kind, honest, and genuine. My landlord actually asked her to write a letter stating that the master shower was ruined and that I needed to replace it. Junelle spoke to her and told her that I did not ruin the shower, that the sliding glass doors needed to be cleaned because of the water build up, but nothing needed to be replaced. Junellen even took pictures for me to show that the shower was spotless after she cleaned it and that my landlord would have a very difficult time charging me for an entire shower. (Backstory: My landlords were selling the house that we were renting and the buyers wanted a different shower placed, my landlords didn't want to pay for it and were trying to stick me with the bill. I hope this gives you an idea of what kind of people my landlords were!") But Junellen helped me out and refused to help them screw me over! I cannot recommend her enough! read more

Junellen helped me out of a difficult situation. I had a home inspection scheduled and the cleaning service that I had scheduled did not show up or call. When I found out they were not going show up due to car trouble I was in a bit of a panic. After reading the reviews on yelp I gave Junellen a call. She did not have any openings for that day but after hearing my problem she added my house to the end of her long day. She showed up with all her own supplies and a helper and went to work. The effort and attention to detail was astounding! She is fast, friendly, efficient and cares about what she does. She charged me exactly what she quoted me. No hidden surprises. Junellen informed me my home could not be cleaned because her employee stopped showing up for work. She told me she would reschedule the cleaning but never returned my text or showed up. Our first scheduled cleaning went very well. June Ellen came and did a very good job. Our second scheduled cleaning went absolutely terrible. 2 young women showed up, missed one bathroom entirely, left to go clean another home...without saying a word and then came the billing. On first quote it was $40/hour. Fine. However, since there where two girls sent over, (who didn't even clean the entire house) I was to be charged $80 an hour and they left for another client. They seem to have far too much going on to be able to take care of their clients and we will not be using them again. read more

My review is reflective of Junellen's unprofessional management rather than any actual cleaning. She came for a Look at my house and later that day sent me an email giving the charges I should expect. Although the her's was highest of the quotes I got, I made a time for her service...several times. Last week after several time misses, we had a time of her choosing finally set! On that day the time was changed several times without anyone coming by the end of the day. Sounding very tired in her last call, she told me she had several homes yet to clean that day, and the lady she scheduled for me did not show up. When she first set the time for me she said she had another house to clean before mine, she said she would set up a time and fit me in this week personally if she had to. But she would check her schedule when she got home and set a time and call to let me know. It is now Wednesday the next week, and I have heard nothing from her. Frankly I feel she has jerked me around enough! I assume she is biting off more than she can chew. Her high star rating is driving more customers her way than she can handle, but that does not get my house clean, I'm looking elsewhere. read more
