I've read the reviews posted here AFTER I visited the Zoo Experience. I can understand the main concern, the poor Baboon in the cage. I agree that he appears to be upset, mean, annoyed and taunted. I know the staff were watching carefully to keep the unruly people from causing him any more grief. We did find his favorite thing was grapes, he took time out from ranting and raving to enjoy those treats. Overall I found the Zoo clean and fun to walk around. There is a large selection of animals to enjoy, some are running around loose with the people, some in small enclosures. All enclosures well kept clean by the staff. At one time the hog got its tusk stuck in the fence and within minutes the staff were there to get him loose again. One girl I spoke to said that her job was to walk around cleaning up the ground where all the missed animal treats were dropped. She said that she enjoyed working for the family that owns it. I found the Zoo Experience to be very interesting considering the amount of animals on display. The prices are very reasonable for admission and the treats that can be purchased for the animals. read more

I took my 6 yr. young grandchildren this past summer. What a wonder place. She had lots of if laughs and truly enjoyed it! Animals were well taken care of. My only issue was trying to manage a child and myself and stuff, in a 1 person size outhouse. Many folks are the only adult with child or children, and most adults are not going to be comfortable having a child wait outside while the toilet. ​​ read more

We loved all the animals. It's great that they sell different kinds of food for a dollar and you can walk around feeding the animals too. It was disconcerting that so many people were not wearing masks because the place is small and it's impossible to be 6 feet when busy. We were able to visit different animals and only stand by people who wore masks. None of the employees were wearing masks either, so it may be the culture of the area. It is an outdoor zoo, so that would make people feel safer. However one man was sneezing over and over again. He did not cover his mouth and he was not wearing a mask! read more

Great experience, and fun for the whole family! A small little spot to spend a few hours really interacting with all the animals, not just looking at them from a far like most zoo's. We loved all of the employees, the young girl at the front desk was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The young man ( they mentioned they were siblings) was also equally friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. We loved how some of the animals roamed free, it was so exciting, and feeding them was great too! I definitely recommend this place for anyone in the area. If we lived closer we would visit often! I can not give this place more than two stars... although the owner and staff were very nice... and it's fun to feed animals.... the part that makes me sad is Rooney the baboon ... he is in such a small enclosure and didn't even have a place to go away from all the people.. people were taunting him despite the sign that said not to. I truly hope they get him a better enclosure. He was freaking out a bunch. Staff just kept saying all the animals were being "naughty"... I don't understand how that animal can be kept in such a small boring enclosure. I wanted to like this place and was hoping to tell everyone I knew with kids or without that it was worth the trip but a day later I can't help and feel sad for him. read more

What an amazing place! Brought my 3 year-old niece and the whole family ended up having a ton of fun (adults included). The owner and their kids are amazing and really care about the animals and sharing them with people. They sell food cups for you to walk around the park with and it is definitely worth it to get them because it allows you to interact more with the animals. I suggest getting the fruit cup because you can feed that to the most animals. One suggestion I have for them is to maybe color code the cups and put the corresponding colors on the cages and areas because it can be a little confusing to remember which food is eaten by which animal (especially for little kids). They are currently expanding and obtained the cutest owl ever, and a linx cat! Other animals include: turtles, kangaroos, donkey (who was pregnant and due any day while we were there), zebra, llama, pigs, foxes, aardvark (I think), wombat, badger, goats, little birds, parrots, geese, ostrich, goats, monkeys, and a few more that I'm missing. We spent an extra $10 on food for the animals and it was well worth it. They have little sticks for the fruit that help you to feed the turtles and other animals. This was definitely worth the trip and I'd love to go back again to see any new animals they may obtain. read more

Five Stars! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. When we first arrived we were told about all different animals we could see, feed and even hold if we wanted. We are lucky enough to live only 30 mins away and I can't wait to go back with family and friends. All the animals looked very happy and well taken care of. It was so cool to just explore around and check it all out at your own pace. Cuddling with the baby kangaroo was my favorite part! This place is a hidden gem! Great for any and all ages! read more

This zoo is basically small cage enclosures for stressed out animals. Kids feeding fruit to animals on long sticks- and then poking them with sticks- awful. The goats were mean, not allowing anyone near- animals are conditioned to constantly look for food. They had many animals in small individual cases and most were just stressed, trying to either get away or get fed through tubes leading into cages. Saw everything in 15-20 min with my 2 yo. Took the family. 40.00 for 20 min and had to leave. So crowded, half patrons not wearing mask ( not the zoos fault) and really no interaction made this a waste of time and money. read more

First the baboon they have in a small enclosure was not happy and going crazy very sad to see. Second they have been breeding kangaroos for years to make money off the babies, when they grow up they are thrown in an enclosure with the rest of the kangaroos they have been breeding for years. The baby kangaroos are taken from their mother and do not return until they stop making a profit off of them. The kangaroo enclosure has NOTHING for the kangaroos. Someone needs to shut this place down. read more

The Jungle Experience zoo is now entering their second year of operations. Located on the Granville/ Hartford border, it's another in the line of backyard zoo's in Washington county. It's a pretty small operation, you don't have to walk too far to see everything. They have a few monkey's large and small. There are parrots, rabbits, ducks, and even a few donkeys roaming around the exhibits. On the outer edge, you can find emu, ostrich, rams, and even a zebra to see up close and feed. Towards the middle they have a variety of exhibits, prairie dogs, an owl, a porcupine, some foxes and a few other creatures. They have another area with a goat and some ponies for feeding and pettings. Their big exhibit right now seems to be the mob of kangaroo's they have. If you go at the right time of year you can see the joey's still in their pouches. New this year, they have a small enclosure with a few young kangaroos that you can visit with for a small fee, feed em, hold em, take a picture. The park is a bit out of the way coming from the Glens Falls Queensbury area. They have a few human snacks or drinks, but otherwise there isn't much else out that way. One trip around the zoo can be done in about 15 minutes, we stayed a little over an hour. For ten bucks a person plus a bit more to feed the animals it's a nice place to visit once or twice a summer for us. read more
