I rode the 1-hour trail ride with 2 adult friends. We were intermediate to advanced at riding. Our guide, Savannah, was awesome. The weather and forest were beautiful, making for a pleasant ride. We would have liked to trot a bit since we were all able riders. The slow walk was very nice, but it would have been fun to pick up the speed for a portion of the riding adventure. Savannah had some interesting things to share about the area, but we couldn't really hear her since she was facing forward and didn't turn to us. The photos on the site show beautiful views. Our trail was entirely in the woods. I now know that the views are only visible on the dinner ride. The horses, equipment, and staff were all great, and we also got to see turkeys and deer. It was a relaxing and enjoyable ride. read more

This ranch is top notch! My bf and I did the breakfast trail this past Tuesday and it was truly amazing! The horses were so gentle and well trained. The trail, was so nice and peaceful and when we arrived at the breakfast site, it was so beautiful. We sat on a bridge that was over a creek. It was so intimate and the food was delicious. The good: Had a fun time on the one-hour trail ride with a lovely horse (Jazzy) and a great guide. It was a very easy ride, perfect for beginners. We had marked we were intermediate riders though and were hoping we'd get to do something a little more than just walk the horses. The bad: The woman running the check in desk was one of the worst customer service providers I've ever encountered. She was clearly frazzled, unorganized, and taking it out on all of us who were there. She was complaining loudly about everything, telling people who had already paid they might not get to go, complaining about what horses they had available, swearing over the computer, bemoaning the fact she hadn't worked there in a few years, and just completely not put together. It was a huge damper on the experience, as we had to wait in line for more than 30 minutes listening to her, and our ride started nearly an hour late. read more

We had SO much fun on our ride! We did the sunset dinner ride...1 hour ride up the mountain, then they cook you a delicious BBQ meal (not fancy but delicious!), and you get to sit on the top of the mountain for an hour, and then it's another hour back down. The staff were great and super friendly. The horses were very well behaved and well kept. Reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back! Only con: No bathroom! There's only a stinky porta-potty. read more

We had a very large group and the organizers of the group overbooked us. The crew handled it really well and broke us into two. Bring in the second group, we only had to wait another 30 mins or so. They handled the issue that was not their fault with grace and efficiency. They brought in extra people and made it happen. We had a great time and would definitely recommend! read more

Fantastic experience with the family. This was our first time in the Lake George and I couldn't be happier with our pic for a horse trail ride. The price was reasonable especially for an hour ride! Emma our guide was great and very nice. Only complaint was that I was not able to get any pics because they secure your phones but they tell you that your guide will take plenty of pics for you, sadly that did not happen. Don't waste your money if you have kids under 9 ! I was told my kids can go on a 15min horseback ride. Both kids were back within 5 mins ($30- crazy) . I said to the staff that was only 5 mins and was told "they walked down and back." That's it !!! And there was silence ( this was after I was told on the phone it was 10 to 15 min) but 5 min !! Shame on you ...! I talked about 10 other parents with kids out of wasting their hard earned money on this before we left. read more

My favorite place to ride horses with my family!, There are others in the area but this place just seems to be more personal,super friendly staff especially owner Bonnie and our beautiful guide Patience, The horses are Beautiful as well lol and well behaved, The trail through the woods was very nice and peaceful but not that adventurous, $25 for half an hour it is well worth it though, I highly recommend this place over all the others in the area and we look forward to coming back next year! We've been to Bennett's a few times now and at different times of the year. The rides have always been perfect - gentle horses and beautiful scenery, great staff too, always friendly and professional. This is going to start sounding like a restaurant review but they do a dinner ride that's fantastic. You order before you go - steak, chicken or salmon - and when you get to the top of the mountain it's freshly cooked and waiting for you. Not a bad experience overall. We did the sunset ride & they offered dinner at the top of the mountain. Utensils were all packed in a zip bag & everyone just kept sticking their hands in to get them. Nonetheless the food was definitely good, probabaly better than most restaurants in the area. When we started the ride the horses were exhausted after doing more rides than they should have that day. I was given a horse named Rocky who was probably the slowest out of the bunch or maybe overworked that day. Our lead was a teenage boy & when Rocky stepped on ground bees & started freaking out trying to throw me off, the guide didn't even move from the front of the line to come to my help & control the horse. I was lucky to not fall off but the horse was on 2 feet at one point & it could've gone very bad. Just some advice for the owners, please have someone older & more experienced lead a group of 6 next time if you don't want people getting hurt. read more

We have done trail rides here often over the last 25 years (mainly when it was known as Bennett's). It's always a great experience, but our last visit several weeks ago was the best. My 11 year old son, who us afraid of heights, decided as we were getting on the horses that he didn't want to ride. He was incredibly nervous, which we didn't know going into it. The staff, especially our guide Savannah, were amazing. Savannah had his horse connected to his for the entire ride and had him distracted. She really made it such a positive experience. read more

Our guides (Ava and Laura) made sure everyone was as comfortable with their horses as the horses were with their riders while conversing and doing tricks. We did the breakfast ride with another family and every aspect was perfect. This spot is very unprofessional, called twice to make sure they can accommodate us so we cancelled plans to come here and than they told us we arrived minutes too late and did not us let us ride even though we had a big group. This place was an absolute gem! We stumbled across this stable after a horrible encounter down the road. The horses are well taken care of, the girls running the place were awesome, and they accommodated our group of 7 with no problem; with no reservation. The kids were allowed to pet the horses and take pictures prior to riding which thrilled them. The staff was patient and extremely insightful. Excellent, family run business! Staff is super friendly, horses are friendly and the trails are beautiful. Have been here three times already and each time I've had an absolutely terrific experience. Weekends can get crazy and you can wait up to an hour to ride, but the time flies when you are in such a beautiful environment. During the weekday, you have to make a reservation to ride, which actually works out well because then you don't have to wait around for the horses to get back. I came to bennett's riding stable yesterday afternoon, and absolutely adored it. There were a bunch of horses and you can tell they're well taken care of. There's a border collie running around (family dog), very friendly and active. I went on a trail ride with copper. It was very nice with the snowy ground and random streams of water. The hosts were very accommodating. Next time, I will try the ride up the mountain side for dinner. read more
