This place is great. Walking distance from central Playa la Ropa/Thompson area. Pizzas are served Mexican-style with chili oil and an aioli-type sauce on the side. Salads are crisp and fresh. Cocktails are hefty without being stiff/strong. Service is attentive. Ruben has had this place for years and his success speaks for itself. We go 5-6 times a year, just check days/hours he's open as his schedule is limited in the off-season. Pizza is one of the best in Zihutanejo and the Margaritas are huge! Everyone raves about the place for food quality but the service is dismal so be prepared before you go. Several reviews talk about the service being terrible and we witnessed it. The owner is great but needs to work on getting some better service talent. Ambience is great too. I have eaten pizzas all over the world. Italy, United States, Germany, France, Japan, and Spain. But these people really know how to make delicious pizzas. Thin crust cooked perfectly in a wood fired stone pizza oven. We were met by the proprietor, Ruben Gonzalez. He checked in on us often and was a very kind host. We highly recommend this place. This was not high season. It's my understanding that this place gets really packed. So make sure you go early enough to avoid the crowds. We've been coming here for 12 years - every time we are blessed enough to visit Zihua -- and sometimes we come twice! The service is awesome, the owner, Ruben, is warm and friendly. They even have great playlists to complete the vibe! The pizza is perfection (try the RangerMontana), but we dream of the Lollicake (ice cream cake)! The other margaritas you can get in Zihua are big and seem like the size of your head, but here they literally are. And they're delicious! This all outdoors pizza joint has a giant made from scratch clay oven where they make crispy thin crust pizzas. Is it the best pizza you've ever had? Probably not, but it's darn satisfying and a great, homey meal. Rubin, the owner is super friendly and also owns the building next door where he rents out rooms. It's in the "nicer" part of downtown Zihua, where the expensive resorts are nestled. Keep in mind it's only open Fri/Sat/Sun dinner, but it's a great spot to fill up after a day at Playa la Ropa. read more
