I've been visiting this area of Mexico for over 20 years, and Emilio's Pizza remains a favorite! Our family has a tradition of kicking off our trip with pizza on the first night, and more often than not, we find ourselves here. One of the best experiences is enjoying a sunset dinner on the second-floor balcony--sipping wine, sharing a delicious pizza, and having great conversation. A heads-up for first-time visitors: dining in Mexico isn't always about speedy service, so don't expect the fast-paced Western-style experience. That said, the servers are friendly, and the food is well worth the wait. The handmade pizzas are cooked to perfection in a beautiful brick-and-stone oven, and while the menu offers much more, the pizza is the real standout. If you'd rather grab pizza or pastries without dining in, head just across the intersection--look for the white building that resembles a church with a steeple - to the left of that white building you can find Emilios (the to go version). Delivery was awesome add... we wanted to stay in our condo for the night but didn't want to make our own dinner. We thought that pizza was just the right choice. They put cold canned tuna on a pizza. Do I even need to type anything more? They sold it to us as "our most popular pizza on the menu." I guess we were expecting thinnly sliced fresh tuna on a pizza. I was in Ixtapa for about a week and ordered from Emilio's Pizza 3 times, they are convenient as they deliver, I ordered plain cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, Italiana pizza and pasta fettuccine Emilio's, the pizzas were very good they were thin not doughy, they came with a side of spicy creamy sauce and side of an oil sauce they were both very spicy, the pasta was good it had shrimp, the shrimp was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The pizza is thin and crispy. They serve it piping hot. The ribs are good and well done. However the service is not very good. They do not accept debit or credit card, so you must be prepared to pay in cash (no very tourist friendly). It doesn't has air conditioning, so it is hooot, even in the evening!!!'nn read more

this is more like a 3.5 star review. They deliver in Ixtapa and that was great for us after a long week in the sun. I had stopped by the restaurant earlier in the week and picked up a takeout menu, so when I called to order pizza on our last night, I had that menu with me. Unfortunately, the restaurant only thought they needed to list their pizzas on the takeout menu, so I had to ask the woman on the phone what salad options they had. No one on the other end of the phone spoke English, so I just asked her the names of the salads that the restaurant had to offer. There were six salads, and from memory they went something like this - Caesar, caprese, mixta, roma, Greek and something else. I figured the Roma salad would be something akin to a traditional Italian dinner salad, so I ordered that. I also ordered a large pizza with half mushroom and half pepperoni. I asked if they had ranch dressing for the pizza, but they did not. The pizza arrived about a half hour later and it was about $33 for the large pizza and the salad. The pizza came fully loaded with pepperoni and mushrooms, so my daughter had to pick mushrooms off of her pieces. Although there was no Parmesan, it came with what I would call something akin to a spicy ranch and some kind of dark oil and pepper sauce. Both sauces had a little bit of a kick to them. The pizza itself was decent, although I personally like a little more tomato sauce on my pies. The salad was just completely different than what I had expected. First off, it was large enough for two people to share, but it only came with one tiny little 2 oz cup of dressing (some kind of vinaigrette) that was not even close to enough to cover the salad. Furthermore, my Roma-style salad consisted of mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons, diced carrots, green bell pepper, mushrooms, raisins, celery, peanuts, and sesame seeds. It was quite simply one of the strangest salads I've ever encountered in my life. I probably would have eaten more if I had had enough dressing, but I don't think I would have enjoyed it much anyway. This establishment could easily be a 4-star restaurant in Mexico in my book if they would just publish a full takeout menu so that I could use Google translate and figure out exactly what I wanted before I called. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We came to sit down for dinner and proceeded to wait 25 minutes before we got up. No water, no bread, just menus and glances. We then decided to try and order for delivery-which we have done before-called put order in, waited two hours and many unanswered phone calls later before deciding to order Domino's pizza. There are two locations for Emilio's . This is the dine in location. They have a great patio and lots of space inside. Great for large get togethers or an intimate dinner. Salads are unique and huge. Lots of pizza options and they will do half and half if you cannot decide. Beer was some of the coldest we had in Mexico. Prices are a little higher but it is in the Hotel Zone so things tend to be a tad higher, still cheaper than in the states. We had the Mixta salad, dressing was pretty watered down and bland but toppings made up for it. I had the smoked cheese and onion pizza, it was delicious. Husband had the three meat pizza with onions and mushrooms. More or less a supreme. It was also incredible. Only issue is that they pile toppings on these pizzas and if you don't eat fast the crust gets soggy. So you for sure get your money's worth. We each got the smaller size and could have easily just had one small pizza to share since we had the salad. Our daughter had the fettuccine and she loved it. She did need a side of parmesan to add to it but she altered the order, sans shrimp and I am sure that took away from flavor. Service was great. Not sure I care to go back to Ixtapa but if I did I would dine here again. Think they are known for their sangria. Everyone was drinking it. Husband ordered one and it was wonderful. Yes, we came back. As a matter of fact, we ordered twice from our hotel. They deliver. The first time, it took too long. But since it was really good, we didn't care. We could taste the freshness and the thin crust is perfect. We had the pepperoni, which came with a lot of pepperoni and the Hawaiian. The Hawaiian was o.k. but boy the pepperoni was yum. This pizza is totally kid and hubby approved. So yes, perfect for the night when it was lightening and pouring outside, and we didn't want to step out of our room. I almost gave it a 4 star because it's somewhat pricey for Mexico. But then it's a tourist area and all prices go up, it's expected. So if we ever return to Ixtapa, Emilio's pizza is it. read more

Ok so we are on vacation and everyone said this is the best pizza in town . Be aware there are 2 Emilio's pizza one for dining in and if you walk across the street one for take out orders ???? Not sure why but hey when in Rome right . We ordered 3 large pizzas total in American $$ 68.00 . I guess that was fair price. Anyways the pizza was very good and hot and thin crust . I got the Italian and pepperoni , mushrooms ,olives . The ingredients are very fresh and tasty .
