The pics are not in order so please see the titles at the bottom of each pic indicating before, after... And of course, there's one of Meredith.. I'd been a loyal client at Jungle Red for years. That ended the day Meredith--a so-called "Top Tier Stylist"--butchered my hair beyond repair. After 1.5 years of growing it out, I asked for a light trim. Instead, she razored through my hair from every angle. I couldn't see the back until it was too late. My hair was left shredded, uneven, and destroyed. Even Meredith looked shocked by how much she'd cut off. When I returned, her only response was, "Aww, I'm sorry you don't like your cut." That's not an apology--that's condescension. The owner, Lisa Travis, refunded the cut but refused to take any real responsibility. I asked if they'd help cover the cost of corrective work--she smugly declined, claiming extensions "weren't possible." She was wrong. Other stylists proved it could be done and temporarily fixed what Jungle Red ruined. Their "top-tier" ranking system is a joke. Meredith lacks skill and judgment, and Lisa Travis clearly doesn't value her clients enough to make things right. It's been 10 MONTHS, and my hair still hasn't recovered. I was Brenna's first Client when she started here and it has been so fun watching her learn and grow. She does the BEST shampoo and it makes me sad when she has an assistant. Even though she's just a youngster it always feels like coming to visit an old friend. When I got engaged we got To work on a plan for wedding hair and worked on it the whole year to get to the color and length I wanted. I have very thick hair and a lot of it. My experience was ok. I went because it was near my short-term rental at Austin Landing. The salon was nice but the vibe with my stylist was kind of off. She was definitely just starting out, so no shade, just think she's still learning. I was really happy with my color, lukewarm on the cut. I also asked for something really basic given my circumstances at the time, so the lukewarm feeling was partially my own doing. The extra charges for styling and other services was a surprise and made this salon not a great value. I also tend to prefer a more serene atmosphere over blaring pop and country music. read more

I've been to this salon twice. Once for a blowout before my family photos and once to style my hair for a wedding. I was so impressed with both experiences. My last trip I worked with Brittany who was wonderful. I have recently cut my hair quite short and was unsure how to style it. She was wonderful to work with and even took the time to teach me some tricks. My first experience was equally wonderful. My stylist gave my mom, sister and I blowouts for our family photos and she did a phenomenal job. All of our blowouts were very affordable, under $50 each, which for a special event was pretty great! EDIT: Well - cloud nine didn't last too long. What good is a good first experience to sell a client on the salon if you can't retain your clients. I was really happy here initially but unfortunately it appears this salon is about sales and money more than anything else. In 3 appointments, I spent close to $400. I tipped my stylist $30 my first appointment and $20 for the two following and was happy to do so. I took care of her well. During my last appointment, I came in to cover a 1 inch in width x 4 inch length section of bang that ended up brighter than the rest of my hair... they charged me $97 for that tiny piece and to blow dry my hair. They initially tried to charge more than that but I caught it at checkout that the sheet was wrong. While it's annoying that they'd charge that much for so little, additionally, I had an identical appointment where she actually did less about a month prior that was $30 less than this appointment without reason. Obviously, this was cause for concern so I asked to speak to management about why identical appointments would cost $30 different. I understand there's different managers but the manager I spoke to didn't care to hear a thing I was concerned about. TIPS: 1. it's about $30 just to have them dry your hair and another $11 for them to use a hot tool like curling iron or straightener (which is Im sure why they ask if you want it - not because it'll look good) so $41 to have them dry your hair. Ask to skip one or both of not necessary. Product sales are a pocket booster for them too. Careful when they try to sell those to you. 2. Make sure your stylists talks to you about pricing before EACH appointment. If I had known she would charge $100 to cover essentially 4 square inches of hair and blow dry it. I would've absolutely skipped or changed course. I had a basically identical appointment for $30+ less a month before hand. There should have been a conversation about that before the appointment. 3. If you have a concern, try the owner. The manager I talked to today did not care to listen to what I had to say at all. It was clear from the beginning of the call that she was listening to refute, not trying to understand what I was saying. She was defensive and giving reasons why she wouldn't budge based on what was written in the system before she would even hear how my appointments went or what I had done. Clearly the notes in the system weren't thorough because when I got her to finally listen to what I was trying to say (I had to ask her to listen to me about my appointments about 3 times before she'd slow down and listen my concern but it was clear she didn't care, she just wanted to find more ways to defend.) she was surprised to hear about how my appointments went. I feel if she had listen or cared from the beginning this would've gone much differently and she would've understood what I was calling about. My hope would be that maybe the owner would at least care about client experience and where the root of the issue or cause for concern and confusion was here rather than blaming clients and bearing down on a decision without listening. If not, then the salon doesn't deserve your business. I will be switching to a better salon. The manager was clear that's what she thought was the best solution. ************************************ Last night was my first time going to Jungle Red and I could not have had a better experience!!! My stylist was Kenzi. She was fantastic! She listened to me, she asked questions to make sure we were on track with what we wanted, she gave pointers, suggestions and was super friendly. She was incredibly knowledgeable and great at her craft, I felt very confident with her working on my hair even though we had just met. I'm very happy with this result and plan to make this my home hair studio. Definitely recommend! read more

Attended a Sunday wedding as an out of town guest, and the staff was ON IT with organizing this difficult task for us being new to the area. So glad they were open on Sunday. Our party of 6 for hair and makeup soon turned to 8 with last minute time constraint changes and the staff gave us major relief when they scooped up our little ones to help us in that pickle. Olivia's airbrush skills and makeup opinion was everything. She gave options, always asked what my opinion was and worked with me ( I thought wouldn't be this picky lol) Daisy gave my daughter her first salon experience and left her feeling like this style should make it to the first day of school lol Megan also worked with us and made our hair look sleek, exactly what we were looking for Lisa, the owner also jumped in with some additional tweaking and add on to details right before we head out the door. We were offered coffee and water and got us out on time for our event. I will definitely be referring Jungle Red to others as well as returning in the future if I am in the area. I showed up for my appointment. They were over 40 minutes late taking me back. They were so apologetic. I was going out of town for the Thanksgiving weekend and had to get to an appointment at noon when my hair style was scheduled at 10:45. The staff and owner came over to apologize. They gave me my style for free without any hesitation and gave me some travel shampoo and condition for the weekend. I cried when I got to the car, because I actually had a business show me what customer service is and did the right thing. I have had such a rough year from health issues to family issues to housing issues with no relief and no help in sight that this little gesture of doing the right thing and caring actually I think made my whole year. I did not have to fight and was not a struggle. I did not have to say or ask for a thing, and they just did it. They smiled and did it. This is what a business should do. I want to thank you. Lisa saved me from a bad haircut a few years ago, and I'm a devoted regular ever since. You have to love a stylist who makes you look great when you walk out the door, but also gives you a cut that looks just as good when you do it yourself! I had a bad experience with Kristen Grossnickel. She became angry when I asked her why she charged me for a conditioning treatment that was supposed to be left on for 10 mins and she rinsed it off immediately. She was so angry I walked into the lobby. She followed me into the lobby and was so rude. I called the owner but the last I heard Ms. Grossnickel is still there. Never go to her. She will cheat you out of your money and get angry if you complain. She is arrogant and full of herself. read more

I got a Brazilian blowout. It did not last more than a day!!!! So dissapointed! I paid over $250 for the initial service, plus a nice tip. Additionally, I paid top price for the recommended shampoo and conditioner. None of the staff cared that my hair went back to normal the next day!!!! They would not give me any refund at all. They wanted to take a look, and have me come back in. But had already let me know there was nothing they could do because they had already put so much chemical in, they would not be able to do more. At almost a $400 investment, it doesn't work, and they screwed up. This is NOT a wash and go style for hair with a strong wave. I FEEL LIKE I WAS SCAMMED!!!! read more

Was early to salon for my 3:30 blowout appointment. Wasn't taken back till just after 4:00. Explained to stylist up front that I was attending a ball with my husband that started at 6:00 and showed her pictures of exactly what I wanted for my hair. Left salon at 5:15 with hair that looked nice, but nothing like pictures I showed stylist because it was so late that I didn't have time to wait for her to fix. Ended up being late to ball because of salon's delays and slow service, which reflected poorly on my husband since this was a work event. Definitely will not be back again and would not recommend this salon to others for event styling/blowouts. read more

The service was good, but the girls at the front desk were very immature and rude. I distinctly remember one had a very short blond pixie cut. My daughter and I went in for a cut, and I waited for her in the lobby. As I waited these two girls were whispering and laughing. I could really care less if they were talking about me, but my concern was my daughter. When she came out I went in with the same hairdresser. Before I went in I asked my daughter if she wanted to wait in the car because I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable in the lobby with those two. She chose to wait in the lobby. When I came out without me saying a thing about it, she said those two were making her feel real uncomfortable. As if they were whispering and laughing about her. My daughter has been going through depression lately, and this didn't help one bit! We as women go to salons to feel good about ourselves, and we should stick together to bring everyone's self esteem up not down! Be professional! I showed the picture to my stylist (Kaeli) and it was a picture of a girl with ash brown highlights and she immediately assumed I wanted a balayage. I specifically told her I wanted the dimension of the dark and the ash brown color because I curl it a lot. trusted her and maybe thought she understood what I wanted. We didn't spend to much talking about it..She applied the bleach...and toned and washed me out. Walked back to the station and she gave me a crappy trim (took her maybe 3mins) because I watched how she did it ... then she started to blow dry and turned me away from the mirror... curled my hair which I didn't like either... anyway she didn't ask if I liked the color or even said the color turned out great..or anything... I didn't even get to inspect my cut... I felt rushed to leave. I guess I'm too nice because I still tipped her and said she did a great job even though it was nothing what I wanted... I called and complained while I was in the car because my hair was bright red and orange. They tried to tell me it's the sun.... I get that but I've had my hair an ash brown before and this is not what it looks like unless u don't put the right toner on my hair. They let me come back to add low lights and tone it. I noticed how she washed my hair, it was not fully washed out ... even when she blowed dried my hair I can tell she was being careless... even then she still didn't inspect my hair that the toner covered all the spots... because now there are spots in my hair that is not toned ..... so my hair looks unevenly toned... and now I need to go pay more money for someone at a different salon to evenly tone my hair. Horrible experience. They need to teach some of their stylist to care more about their clients thoughts and feelings and actually enjoy their work. Paid $215 for the worst experience, never will go back or recommend. I wish the stylist was more caring but I don't think they teach them good customer service. It was the walk of shame for me coming back and it was the most uncomfortable experience. They made me feel like they didn't do anything wrong. Went in for the first time last week. My cut was good but feel I was taken advantage of with a retail purchase. Stylist suggest a shampoo and they were on sale. I paid $37 for a liter which is a good price. But I tried something new to me and once I got home and tired it once I wanted to return it. I tried to return it in less than 24 hours and was told retail purchases could only be exchanged for another product. There was no sign near the register and no one mentioned that when I bought it. I have no problem with the policy I just think they need to be sure everyone is aware before they make a purchase. So now I'm stuck with a liter of shampoo I can't use. If I had known I wouldn't have bought such a large bottle. read more

Easy to book appointment online and was able to get in the next day! I got over 10" of hair cut off and the stylist Jenny did a fantastic job! She asked what I wanted and listened, taking care to explain what she was doing. After cutting my hair, Jenny showed me different hair styles and products I could use with my new hair. The facilities are incredibly nice and tastefully decorated and the staff are all very genial. Really impressed with Jungle Red Salon and would recommend again and again. My first visit to Jungle Red Salon was my last one. When I called to make the appointment I requested someone who was good with fine thin hair. When I arrived and met the young lady who was to be my stylist, Maddie, I discussed with her at great lengths my desired results and she said she understood. She colored my previously highlighted hair back to my natural color as I had requested. That part went fine. She appeared uncertain as to how to cut a stacked wedge hair style. When I used the mirror to look at the he back it was uneven and a big gouge was on the right side. I walked out with very short hair in the back with not the slightest resemblance of a stacked wedge. $117. later I stopped at another salon to have the back trimmed to at least look even. When I got back home from both salons I called Jungle Red and asked to speak to a manager. Lisa got on the phone and I explained what had happened during my visit and how disappointed I was. She was very defensive of Maddie and not too concerned how I as the customer felt. Lisa said she would refund the cost of the haircut. I indeed did receive my refund but my hair is still super short and looks nothing at all like I wanted it done. I will NEVER step into that salon again. Maddie was nice but very inept in her abilities to cut a short stacked wedge hair style. What I had been looking forward to for weeks turned out to be a nightmare. read more

When I booked my spa pedicure, the site indicated that the service would be 1 hour and 45 minutes. "Oh, good!" I thought. "It will probably include a long massage and scrub." Not so. Hannah wrapped up it all up in 45 minutes, thanks to a lackluster massage, sloppy polish, and careless trimming. I left with a literal chunk taken out of my big toenail, polish all over the ends of my toes, and crooked lines, which Hannah was nice enough to attribute to the "shape of my nail." Funny, but my nails weren't that shape when I came in. One of the worst--if not THE worst--pedicures of my life. What a disappointment. read more

First, they have online appointments which are wonderful. I took a pic in of the cut I wanted, a longer inverted bob, and had selected full foil. Sarah D. advised me that I didn't need full, but only partial. She advised a toner treatment, as well. She did exactly what I asked for, and the color was perfect! She described the products she was using as she used them, and the benefits of each. There are few stylists who can do a bob right, but she will nail it.
