My wife and I had dinner and we both ordered the fried chicken which is amazing and the best ever. My side was the mashed with gravy a natural to serve with fried chicken, however. The scoop of mashed potatoes was served cold and only with maybe a teaspoon of gravy on top. As we all know mashed potatoes deserve to be smothered in gravy. I had to order a side of hot gravy so I could manage to eat the potatoes. Veggies of the day and the soup were both amazing. Soup was served piping hot. Cheerful staff , typical envioirment and meals prepared from scratch. It's a local favorite and staff seems to know most who come in. Wife ordered hot turkey plate from the lunch menu and I ordered SOS from the breakfast portion. Both meals were good, reminiscent of the diners and cusine of the 50s. Try them. read more

We have tried breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Original Junior & Rosie's Cafe across from Publix on 776. We have not yet tried their newest location where the old Good Times Charlies was located. We keep reading of challenges for this new location so we'll keep going to the original location. Each of the three times we have dined here we have enjoyed the good food and reasonable prices. The wait staff has been friendly and this place is definitely a local's hot spot. Breakfast was quite good, lunch was very good and a to-go box was needed as portions are sizable. I love a good prime rib, so of course after learning that Saturday was prime rib night, I had to give it a go. Having been asked what size I wanted, I just told her to bring the cow out. Well, not appreciating my humor she responded, "the 12 ounce, and how would you like it prepared?" I bit my tongue but did consider "still mooing....." LOL. OK, medium rare, baked potato, cup of soup (cheese broccoli), and veggie of the day was green beans. My wife had the Chicken Angelina, O-rings, and green beans. Photos attached so take a look at the portions and you'll appreciate the need for a to-go box! Nicest piece of prime rib I've had in a while. Cooked perfectly, VERY flavorful and juicy. So much so that the baked potato and green beans were dipping their toes in the au jus on the plate. Now this came with a separate small condiment size container of au jus, which was not really needed, but was tasty. I used to like the prime at Zarates on Thursday night but it became quite hit or miss on quality, and the price had increased beyond reasonable for the meal. Baked potato cooked well and green beans were not canned, but freshly cooked and sadly, overcooked. They did resemble canned green beans but were very tasty so no real complaints on that. My wife's Chicken Angelina was excellent and her O-rings were good. Here's the real bottom line..........the check. $41 (less tip) for all of this deliciousness and take home to boot. Now consider this.........most breakfast places now cost this much for MUCH less. Junior and Rosie's is now our Go-To mom and pop eatery. Haven't been there yet? Why not???? You won't be disappointed if you appreciate a good home-cooked meal from scratch. read more

She was very pleasant and friendly, I Ordered the House Special Pork Chops with carrots and Baked Potato food came out reasonably fast lentil soup-was my appetizer and unsweetened iced tea. The soup was actually very good and arrived steaming hot, my meal arrived and the presentation was a bit lacking food just thrown on the plate there was excess liquid beneath everything the chops though they appeared appetizing were overcooked and very chewy, only ate most of one,The carrots and potato were equally overcooked but not at serving temperature others in my party had fish and they claimed to have enjoyed their meal. Tonight I want to Rosie Café with our neighbor and my wife and we had the special prime rib. Then three different cuts small for 18/8 oz , medium for 20 /10 oz, and large for 22./12 oz .. I asked for baked potato and corn chowder . tonight. I had a cooked medium. A week ago my wife and I ate at Stefanos's. I ordered the special prime rib. It had no price and I had to leave half of it on the plate. It was tough, not juicy and certainly not what I expected. It was then and unattractive. For me to leave a piece of meat which I've never done says worlds. I certainly know my way around the table. read more

we have eaten here twice, once for breakfast and once for a late lunch. both times the food was just ok. Service has been good both times. Breakfast we both had bacon and eggs, cooked as asked but no thrill to eating. for late lunch my wife had the turkey meal, the turkey was sliced real thin and my wife was not excited on how it looked or tasted. We would love to have had HOT FOOD when served. The hot turkey sandwich was cold, mashed potatoes cold and the gravy had it be out of a jar not tasty at all. My wife and I have been there numerous times and the food is always been great, and Priced Right. Everyone we've met on the staff has been wonderful, and with great sense of humor. The only issue is the speed of the service. We have waited longer than usual, however the wait is always worth it. And that's why we keep going back. Basa fish was very greasy and mushy, liver and onions were also oily but flavorful and tender, split pea soup tasty but only warm and obviously canned. Third visit in as many weeks. Nearly half the paved portion of the lot was cordoned by a sign "NO PARKING" Employee had no idea as to why. Light drizzle. Some people used the muddy field in the next lot. PRICES WERE VERY GOOD. They use REAL dairy products. Service was good except that the Coffee was weak and there was no offer of a second cup (all three visits) Eggs were ok, could use something to reduce the fried egg taste in Scrambled eggs. Would have expected more from a new restaurant trying to bring in customers and get their name out there in a positive way. There were no napkins on the table, had to ask for them if you could get someone's attention, menus were paper (messy, dirty, wrinkled), I would not call what they were serving French fries (they weren't cooked well either), nothing about this place was inviting Or appealing. Tried the new place tonight, the old good times Charlie's restaurant. Had to wait for a table, finally got seated. 15 minutes sitting and no one came by. Plenty of workers walking by but nothing. People would come in after us and would order their drinks. Can't really compliment on the food because we got up and left. Maybe try again maybe not. read more
