    Onion Rings

Service was quick and the food was plentiful! Three of us shared an order of onion ring and there were still a few leftover. I had the Seafood Diablo- a mixture of clams, shrimp & mussels in a spicy tomato sauce! Next was a Mushroom, Onion & Swiss burger & fries good value for 1/3 lb burger great flavor cooked to order Third out was the Boom Boom Shrimp, nice deep fried shrimp with a light drizzle of sauce. All in we'll be back cheers

A good visit I like the name, so I headed down to check it out and eat some food. When I walked in and looked around, I saw a larger than I expected place, spacious really, with a sea theme. This is a no frills space, basic setup with a bar area on one side and dining tables on the other. All the people were on the bar side, so that's where I sat. For dinner I went with a burger, a 1/2 lb Paradise Bacon Cheese Burger. When it arrived it looked basic, plain bun, typical toppings. That the patty was thick did get it to something more towards that 1/2 lb. By the time I finished it I had decided it was actually very good both in taste and size. I liked what I would describe as laidback service, no rushing around, available if needed, comfortable like me new guy was welcome in this room. While I was eating more and more people arrived until the bar area was loud and there were diners in the other part. I don't know how many bar and restaurant options are in the immediate area, this may be the place to go for everyone local. Looking at their facebook page I learned they do have evening activities but you wouldn't know it just sitting in the restaurant / bar at 6pm. No schedule, no advertising items, just a few TVs. I did ask about the Cool Pickle name hoping there was an interesting story, and only learned the new owners liked and kept the name the old owners called it. Maybe someday they can learn or make up something funny and hang it on a wall. The walls could use some clutter.

Food is below bar food standards. Dark and dingy ambiance inside, minimal seating outside. Service was slow.

They were pretty busy but the food arrived quickly. Lots of people were stopping in for fresh seafood from the market while a few were having lunch outside. The food was delicious and everyone loved it. The only issue we had was that I was hoping to just get fried shrimp for my daughter but the only options were coconut shrimp or the shrimp po boy. They said that's all they could do. Once we received the shrimp po boy, I was confused why they couldn't just give us that but without the bread. Oh well, she just picked the shrimp off the bun and loved it anyways. Just didn't seem very accommodating when they seemed so helpful to the customers ordering from the actual fresh seafood market. We will definitely come back.

I've gone here a handful of times throughout the years. I've never been impressed. This time…read morethough, will be my last. They changed the inside of the market. Before, you used to be able to view the live lobsters and see them pick them out. I used to like this, because I want to make sure the lobsters are alive and moving when they are removed from the water. Now, I don't know where they keep them, but I can't see them. I wouldn't trust that I am getting the fresh and very alive lobsters. Second, and most important of all, the prices are BAD. I called them a couple weeks ago for the price of lobsters. They told me 3 for $65. For me, that's extremely expensive. For me, I wouldn't pay that for myself, but my wife wanted me to cook some lobsters (would have been only her second time having lobster in her life). I decided to give them a try one last time and compare it to other markets that cost much less. If I could get similar taste at the other markets, I would no longer go here. Sadly, when I went in, I noticed the prices were now 3 chick lobsters for $75, or $25 a pound if you don't want 3. I asked about this, telling them they recently told me they were $65 on the phone... maybe not more than 2 weeks ago... and they said they raised their prices. Holy shit. That's not a $1 raise... or a $3 raise, but a whopping $10 raise. It wasn't too long ago that 3 of their lobsters were $25, and even that seemed expensive. I was willing to try them one last time at $65 (highway robbery bent over backwards), so I asked if they would honor the price quoted on the phone a few weeks ago, and they said no. So I walked out without spending one penny. These prices are terrible. TERRIBLE. Other markets in the area are charging $15 a pound for new england live lobsters. It's their store, they can charge what they want, but I won't buy anything if the prices are too high. Maybe this will go out of business like the port charlotte location? Maybe the snow birds don't know about other places to buy fresh lobster and pay the price? Well, if you know where to shop, you can find everything I've seen in this store for about 1/2 the cost. Tourist trap? I don't know, but buyer beware.

Delicious topping & sauce. Highly recommend. They come 2 per order and they split them on plates for us since we just wanted a snack (only went in for a drink). The onion rings were also way above average, crunchy and delicious! Austin the bartender is really sweet and keeps the customers happy. Enjoyed sitting at the bar so he could serve us again. Don't recommend going on a holiday weekend though. What were we thinking? Well the beach had no parking and the streets were very busy. Glad we found a place to park at the pink elephant. We just wanted a little beach outing for vow-renewal "anniversary." Wink. Probably going again soon on our engagement anniversary!
