Great inn centrally located by great restaurants and walking distance to the beach. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Andrea as she checked us in and went over the amenities the inn offered and gave us some great restaurant recommendations. There are rooms located in separate buildings and rooms located within the main building. The disadvantage in staying in the main building is the limited view from some of the rooms. The major advantage is the following amenities are located here which include the: * Gym * Pool * Ice maker * Vending machines * Business center * Coffee and tea * Microwave * couches and tables in the lobby area Some rooms are a tad more expensive but it comes with 2 sinks and a larger refrigerator. So check before booking. There is no restaurant located in this inn, but there are plenty in walking distance. Some of the rooms have a 6 inch drop when you step down from the threshold of your door. The rooms are clean, well lighted and the HVAC system works well. Love the inn and the entire staff that works here. Everyone is so nice and personable. We actually have stayed a number of times at this hotel, and enjoyed our stay. However this time was not enjoyable. My husband was injured while using the jacuzzi. He jammed his shoulder into safety rail due to a large drop while entering hot tub. The staff including the manager was extremely inconsiderate in how this was handled. I don't want anyone else to experience this unfortunate, avoidable situation. I won't be returning, and if I asked I will not share this hotel as one someone should stay at. read more

I randomly booked Juniper Hill Inn at the last minute on HotelsTonight. The rate was ridiculously good so I didn't expect much. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and updated the room was. The check in was easy and the grounds were meticulous. I would not stay on the first floor again. Neighbors above us were loud as can be. Not the fault of the Inn, but the walls do seem to be very thin as we could hear the ones next door also. All in all I'd stay here again. read more

I have been staying at the Juniper Inn in Ogunquit, Maine for many years. My girlfriend and I would travel from Albany, NY on a Saturday, stay two evenings and return on Memorial Day. This year we checked in on Saturday, May 25. On Sunday, May 26, I received a call from my sister at approximately 5pm that my 94 year old Mother had fallen and broken her hip. We raced back from downtown, packed up and went to the desk to checkout. I asked if there would be any financial consideration and the woman at the desk said that she would have the manager call me because she was not the person that could make that decision. It has been three weeks and I have never heard back from the Manager. I waited until today because my Mother had a lengthy stay in the hospital and passed away on June 6. I called and spoke to the Manager, Jordan. Jordan explained to me that we would have had to checkout prior to 11am for their to be compensation. I found that quite humorous, like I had control of when my Mother fell. He refused to give me any money back and just kept repeating the companies policy. I told him my Mother had passes away, that we were regular customers and still, nothing. By the way, the hotel was purchased three years ago by an Indian Company. Also, our room was never cleaned after the first night. I was told that their new policy this year was to only clean rooms if the customer had requested it. Jordan said that we should have been told that at check-in. We were not. Would he consider any compensation for that? NO. read more

There's no surprise that this is a renovated motel, but they did a nice job with it! The room is exactly as expected but with granite counter top in the sink area and on the tub wall. The tub was so very clean that it gleamed and invited me to take a bath which I did but it was small, of course. The bed was really comfortable and the pillows were lovely. There's coffee in the lobby and an indoor and outdoor pool which we didn't have time for unfortunately. The walk to the Marginal Way was only 1/2 mile through the cute shops and restaurant area of town. Nice location for something not overlooking the water. Hotel staff were pleasant. Would NOT recommend. I booked a room as my husband doesn't walk well and they told me it was not the room I booked. The girl said it would be extra for the main building room and would NOT give me my money back. Not accommodating at all. Gave me a room outside main building which I did not want. She said guy that answered the phone was not direct with Inn. He said the room was available but she said it is not and not her fault. Was rude and again not accommodating at all!!! just checked in a couple hours ago and was given a room with an outside entrance after I specifically booked inside the main building. when I questioned the room I was told that's all they had, contrary to what their site says. I came back in after seeing the room and asked again for them to find something inside the main building as requested, it did not need to be a King bed, anything would be fine. As a single traveler, I feel safer without an outside entrance. a different young man who was dealing with another check-in interrupted and said " These are premium rooms." I can only guess my tee shirt and Jeans that I was wearing for the 4 hour car trip indicated I wasn't worthy. I have been coming here for over 20 years...I guess I am done. read more

Juniper Hill was absolutely perfect for our family vacation (My husband and 2 small grandbabies). The staff was friendly and accomodating; the rooms were well appointed and spotless; the grounds were meticulously maintained; a half mile walk to to the beach, without having to cross any roads; and less than a half mile to restaurants, from fine to casual. They thought of every detail a guest could possibly want. Coffee brewing all day. The have a large facility off the outdoor pool area, with tables , chairs , highchairs, microwave, vending and ice so if you want to bring in your own food you can dine comfortably; indoor and outdoor pools and hottubs. Young and old, everyone around us was pleased with their time at Juniper Hill. We cannot wait to go back. read more

We stayed here one night this is in April off season. The room was fresh smelling, clean and bed linens, wall paper all well coordinated and clean and updated. Coffee maker, fridge and mic in room. My partner is more sensitive about mattress comfort and slept well. The indoor pool was open and looked renovated. All good. Good stay friendly folks at the desk willing to go above and beyond when requested a first floor room and close parking due to difficulty w walking and stairs. Did not have a chance this trip to walk the 10 minute path to the beach. Indoor pool and path to beach is a win. read more

This hotel was great from start to finish! They were so friendly and helpful on the phone and by email before our trip. The lady who checked us in was as well. There's coffee, hot cocoa, and tea 24/7 in the lobby. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lots of helpful little features like a drying line in the shower and double sinks. Housekeeping did a fantastic job and I felt like I was living in luxury after covid. The best part was being able to walk to the beach in 10 minutes and to the center of town in 5. we enjoyed parking the car and walking for drinks each evening. The pools are nice too. I've stayed here 3 times in the last couple months. The people working at the front desk could not be nicer or more helpful. The location is perfect- walk to town snd restaurants easily. Stayed for two nights midweek in September. Great location, very clean and quiet. Nice fitness room and pools. Lobby staff super nice and helpful. Not a fancy place, but very comfortable. Fitness room has high quality machines and the pool is well/maintained. Nice outdoor sitting areas all around the property. Ten minute walk to the beach and plenty of towels available in the lobby. You know I have expectations when I see a hotel named Juniper Hill Inn with a solid 4 star Yelp review rating. A 60's era old school motel with a series of double decker buildings along a main highway isn't where my head goes when I imagine where I'll be staying. The large grounds were nicely manicured with a pool, there's a walking path to Ogunquit beach & a few minutes walk to town. That's why we booked it not realizing exactly what we were getting. Once we opened the door to our room, the overwhelming smell of that generic febreeze that motels often saturate all their rooms in immediately took over. No amount of leaving the door open helped & it isn't something you just get used to. Room had been cleaned well and decor is grandma bedspreads & shabby chic style white furniture with decent bathroom & bar sink updates done sometime in the last decade. Good and plentiful room lighting plus there were feather pillows, a fridge, wifi & a basic muffin/bagel breakfast. Walk to the beach is begun down a paved path thru the wood which is really nice and there's a picnic bench back there. Then you take a series of 3 roads through a residential neighborhood to the beach. About a 12 minute walk. Since parking at the beach lot is $25 in season, walking is definitely better. Town shops and restaurants are about a 10 minute walk along the busy highway. Pavement has been widened to accommodate walkers but, parts of it feel a bit close to the road. Lots of people do use this path. I believe 2.5 stars is pretty fair for what this motel provides. The aroma in the rooms needs some work. read more

We previously stayed in June and decided to come back in September. Once again, everything was great. The room was a good size, immaculate and the bed so so comfortable. I really like the fact that there are 2 sink areas with lots of space to put your stuff. Location wise, Juniper Hill is perfect. It's far enough away from the crowds, but walking distance to everything. There is more than enough parking for all guests, which can be an issue at some places. Once again, I appreciated the complimentary morning coffee. This time I brought my own skim plus milk (that's what I use) and since all rooms have a mini fridge, just kept it there. FYI, I found talking to other guests that many are repeat visitors to the hotel. That says it all. read more

We always book our summer vacation at Juniper Hill resort. This is an outstanding property. Pristine care, friendly staff. Beautiful grounds, outdoor pools, hot tub, and rooms. Walking path to the beach approximately 9 minutes. Walk to downtown Ogunquit approximately 5 minutes. The Greenery Cafe is about 500 feet from Juniper Hill. They call it an "Inn" so you might think you're getting a quaint Maine lodging. It's just a motel along side the highway. And although some might call it a nice motel, it's still a motel. I don't like motels. On a positive note, the grounds are spectacular - well manicured and supremely well tended. Gorgeous in fact. But what matters more to me is what's inside. When you open the door to your room you are instantly hit in the face with that noxious, antiseptic chemical smell that I've encountered countless times in other motels. They must all buy it by the barrel cause it is liberally infused into the room (and I swear the AC unit). I'm sure you know the smell. We've all smelled it. It's so strong that you wonder if you'll really be able to survive in here let alone sleep. Wonder if they are immune to it after all these years. The room itself wasn't that bad. The pillows were NOT foam, the bathroom had granite counter tops and shower surround, the lights were nice and bright, and there was a 32" flat screen with decent programming. Breakfast was basic bagels and mini muffins. The carpet seemed a little sticky in places (I'm not sure I want think about that) but generally everything else seemed pretty clean. We could hear the people in the room above us thumping around pretty regularly but didn't hear any one next door. The walk to the beach starts with a short path that dumps you onto neighborhood roads. The walk into town is via a narrow sidewalk along side busy US 1 and can be dicey at times. Both are about 10 minutes away. While I can see the appeal for those who don't mind roadside motels, it just isn't a place for me. One night was enough. read more

We had a fantastic experience at Juniper Hill. The hotel itself is situated right outside the skirts of the main town which makes it super easy to walk to. It's also located in Ogunquit, which is a really great little town in Maine - driving distance to all the major attractions. Juniper Hill has ample parking spots (we always managed to get one right outside our door) and is right on the main road so you can't miss it. The hotel staff were incredibly hospitable. They hire a lot of young students from various countries throughout the summer and we worked with a girl from New Zealand! They were super sweet and helpful. The lobby is a decent size and has a computer if you want to look up anything. Also, they have plenty of brochures and pamphlets on things to do and places to eat. Very informative. As for the rooms - adorable! They were clean, bright and very comfortable. Free wifi, outdoor pool, free coffee/muffins/fruit in the morning for breakfast (wish they had a full free continental, but no worries). My family has been going here for years and my opinion of it has been positive. If you're travelling to Ogunquit, stay here. read more

We had a room on the first floor and were woken up repeatedly throughout the night to the sounds of footsteps (akin to a heard of buffalo) going up/down the stairs outside our room and footsteps in the room above us. ALSO, the walls are very thin...we had the joy of listening to our neighbor's TV and conversations throughout our 2 day stay. A last minute trip to Maine in November, limited choices, but we saw this and decided to go with it. It was clean, the beds comfortable. There were three of us who showered in the morning and did not run out of hot water. The staff were all really nice and even the other hotel guests were nice. We would stay there again.
