Many of our friends recommended the Southington Care Center, and we were fortunate to get in there. I cannot speak more highly of this organization! Attentive, skilled, and caring Nurses, CNAs, and Aides. And the PTs, OTs, and Speech Therapists were not only highly skilled and effective, but they all had amazing and genuine interpersonal skills - a very rare combination. The supporting staff from Admissions to the Social Worker/Transitions professionals, and other Staff were simply great. Other reviews mentioned issues with the food - but we found the food to be unexpectedly well-prepared and delicious! Sure, 5 weeks, 3 meals a day, to hundreds of patients, there were a couple "misses". But my Wife and I were stunned at how good the food was overall. Great job everybody! We are SO grateful that Carol was able to go to the Southington Care Center. (A Note to management... and this is NOT a SCC issue... I STRONGLY recommend you find a different Wheelchair Ambulatory Service than that from "Nazim" [860-990-1172]. Our grandson was a patient at HFSC a little over a year ago, discharged with promises of follow up and NOTHING. He has been hospitalized three more times for the same challenges, never again accepted at HFSC and the outpatient day program which has been promised, then slow rolled with delay excuses which made little sense and now after an 8 week wait that was supposed to be 3 we shall see how it will go. His challenges far exceed a clipboard and stickers for treatment but that's all he's gotten so far.

When I was finally contacted, I was informed that the referral had been denied because the testing was considered not medically necessary. While I understand that not every referral will be accepted, my biggest concern was communication. It was extremely difficult to get in contact with anyone by phone, and I spent a significant amount of time trying to reach the office for updates. The long wait times and lack of communication added unnecessary stress during an already difficult process. If you are considering this practice, be aware that you may experience delays in receiving updates and may have difficulty reaching staff by phone.

Her incredibly compassionate, patient, and knowledgeable team of aides took copious notes about mom's needs. Anna communicated care updates to me and after a few weeks we were able to adjust mom's care to 15 hrs/day. While caring for my mom, my dad suddenly became physically needier. Once again Anna made adjustments to her staffing schedule to accommodate care for both my mom and dad. When dad entered Hospice care, Anna pivoted again and her team tenderly ensured his passing was peaceful. I can not say enough about the responsiveness, expertise, dedication, and flexibility of Anna and her Nutmeg team. They supported mom, and then both my parents, for over 9 months. Nutmeg saved my parents, extending my dad's life and allowing him to spend his final months with his wife (versus in a skilled nursing facility). I have reported her to the Veterans Administration, Medicare, my Attorney, the Attorney General, BBB and a few more agencies who are interested in fraud cases like this.
