Long Beach's hidden gem. It's ran by ANNA Banana, that's what they call her. Great environment and very family orientated. People have been coming here for over 10 years ! They all do amazing cuts. They have a walk in section but I highly advise making an appointment and it's cash only. I like to get my car washed across the way and walk to get my cut. All the people working there do a great job so there's no need to worry if you'll get a good haircut. I usually go with Sophie since she does appointments by phone. I've been going to get my hair cut by Anna since a kid, around 2003. They're reasonably priced compared to other shops. This shop is great! The ladies here are super nice and friendly. They all get to know you and joke around which is great because who wants a quiet and serious barber... The price is not low or high which is good and they are good at cutting you up so it's worth the price! If I can give them no stars I would. I came into this barber shop today June 14, 2019 for a quick cut. My hair is quite long from the top and and it gets shorter from the sides. I asked Anna to clean my hair from the sides and to give me a taper ( a very common haircut style ) she claimed she didn't know how to do it and proceeded to tell me a customer didn't pay her a previous day. Her attitude was negative even before I told her the kind of haircut I wanted. When I asked if any of the 3 other women knew how to cut it she said they didn't. So she refused to service me completely for NO REASON. I will never step foot inside this establishment again and I'd advise you do the same. read more

My haircutter was Sophie. She's super friendly, chatty, on point with the clippers and scissors and makes you feel very welcome. She even gave me some tips on a great Cambodian Restaurant on Cherry. I do not write reviews, ever. But this place deserved it. I was in from out of town for a few weeks, and looking for a good barber. After stopping at multiple spots on a Sunday that were reservation only, I stumbled upon this place, and I am glad I did. As most were waiting for the owner, I rolled the dice with the first seat on the right, and she did an amazing job. I went to another barbershop 2 weeks early when I first got to long beach, and if I am ever back, I will for SURE use Junipero. A smaller place, but truly a diamond in the rough, and not only a better cut, but 10$ cheaper than the previous shop. You simply cannot beat not only the price, but the quality of cut you will receive here. For someone who has used the same barber for 20 years at home in Chicago, I can say these ladies are TOP NOTCH, and would recommend anyone who is questioning trying this place out, or looking for a new quality/affordable barber, do not hesitate, this is the place for you. read more

I've been here about 4 times and haven't left disappointed. The barbershop doesn't look extravagant, but the barbers have talent. Normally I'll pay up about $30 + for a good fade, but these give me the same cut for half the price. Definitely recommend!!! read more

Gone here a few times and the same lady always cut my hair, i didn't realize it was because she's the only one that will do women's hair. So I stopped in tonight for a fade and was turned away because she wasn't working. Guess I'll have to wear a fake mustache next time. As a customer for over 20 years hopefully this review means something. Anna has been my barber since 1998 even before she opened her own shop. Previously she whispered in my ear as she was cutting and said "I'm moving to my own shop down the street". So, as a loyal customer I followed. Ever since I've felt so comfortable coming here. If you want a good haircut that is inexpensive with no frills, this is your place. For $12 they will give you a quality cut and take the time to do it right. I have been there over a dozen times, tried all of their barbers, so I feel I am qualified to review them. They repeat areas more than once to provide a good cut. They have a lot of young clients and can do some of the newest trends. If you want luxury, bells and whistles or a spa like feel, this is not your place. It's not the cleanest place, so if that bothers you this may not be your place. I definitely think it's much better than drive thru haircut places. read more

JB was actually my second pick for a shop, only based on the location of the other place. Unfortunately, the other place was closed the day I needed to get in for a cut so I looked into a number of others and liked the sound of JB. They're still close to home and I got the exact cut I asked for. The ladies there were friendly, particularly my barber and we conversed the entire time. I may still give the other spot a chance sometime, but this will be my main go-to spot.
