While at a conference for work in Long Beach, I decided to try to find a salon at which to get my hair cut and styled. The first two I found on yelp were permanently closed, and I happened to walk by The B Room which was open and doing a thriving business of men's haircuts. I am so glad that I peaked in and asked if they also cut women's hair, and that Rocia was able to fit me in for this fabulous hairstyle. She took her time, made sure every hair was just the right length, and I'm absolutely in love with the style. I just recently moved to Long Beach & needed a haircut! So I did some digging and found this place. I chose this place specifically because it was very clear that this shop creates a safe place for the LGBTQ+ community. Upon first entering, I noticed the calm color palette and vintage/eclectic/modern design elements. I wasn't so sure if I needed to sign-in/check-in or not but Isa put me at ease and assured me, I'd be up next when he'd finished. Once I got in Isas' chair, he asked how I like my hair cut. Typically i go with a taper fade and not too short on the sides but wise from that I let him suggest/go with what he thought would be most suitable. I read that they offer wine! That's pretty cool! I didn't expect it nor did I ask. The chairs to sit & wait are also quite comfy. Now price.. I booked for a men's haircut which was ($30) & he shaved my neck, which I didn't mind that he did, however I also assumed it would be extra. My final cost before any tip was $40. He did an awesome job and I was super pleased!! Found my new go to shop! For those who may be wondering, I did in fact feel safe and sort of at home. Usual Barber has been on hiatus so I decided to try somewhere and someone new. Fortunately, I was able to find a Drop Dead Gorgeous Barber named Josie. She is a Great Conversationalist. Takes the best care of her clientele. Takes her time. Does exactly what you ask for and is willing to try something new. She is a risk taker, in a good way. I told her I like Thin Hard Line; No Highways or Freeways. She did amazing with a steady hand. No Bowl Cuts were involved in my experience so she gets brownie points for that as well. Clean cut with no random hairs sticking out like our boy Alfalfa. I recommend to anyone looking to get great quality service with an affordable price range. Show them some love and check them out. Fairly decent haircut. I would give a 5 star however I was little confused and bummed about not receiving the $5 discount over the phone that we agreed upon even when it wasn't happy hour when booking. Maybe he forgot or not. But the haircut seems pretty good. A little worried about the thinning scissors (I'll have to wait and see and update later if anything goes awry). But the complimentary hair wash that comes as part of the service and is not charged (along with neck cleanup) fantastic to get all the lose hair post haircut. i asked for a wolf cut and showed lots of exact pictures of what i wanted before even going to get the haircut and they said they could do it. i went in and she cut at least 8 inches off my hair even though i asked to keep the length as much as possible and ended up with the worst haircut that looked nothing like the pictures i showed at all. if u want any type of alternative haircut, just pay for it at a salon that specializes in it. i didn't even get a discount after all of that, i don't know why they let me come in and said they could do it when they couldn't. read more

I usually go to barbershops that are queer owned so that I know I'm welcome. Although they don't only cater to the community, Rocio and her daughter made me feel very welcome. Rocio never questioned the length of the cut I wanted and didn't try to convince me to get my hair cut to a more feminine style. I have made this my go-to spot for haircuts because they put up a UTLA sign during the strike last January. As an LAUSD teacher living in Long Beach, it made me feel supported to see those signs in businesses in my community. The shop itself is very cozy and feels like you are in someone's living room. There is kind of a disconnect between the actual salon and the massage room in the back, but I think that adds to the quirk and charm. I've gotten two haircuts here by different people and they have both been excellent. What a gem! I found this place on yelp and the reviews are spot on. I got an amazing haircut! I'm not a picky person but I do like my hair cut a certain way , and in the past when I get my hair done their is usually something that I don't like about the cut, the fade or the top. But Isa nailed it! As soon as I got home I did a full inspection and wow! Everything was perfect, considering I came in looking like a mess. Not to mention the wash after the cut just really was the cherry on top of a relaxing experience. I moved to the area with my 5 y.o. son recently. I work Monday-Friday 9am to 6pm, now with that schedule the only time I have to take my son for a hair cut is obviously on the weekend. We started our Saturday morning late. We got ready and went to a local barber shop. The soonest appointment available was 3pm. We had an even to attend at 2 that that appointment was definitely out of the question. I quickly searched local barber shops in my maps which lead me to The B Room. I called and a guy picked up. I asked if they take walk-ins, guy answered yea. I then asked what's the soonest they could squeeze my son in for a cut. The guys said in an hour. I didn't hesitate and grabbed the appointment. He guy took down my son's name. When I arrived for my son's appointment we were welcomed by the entire staff I clouding this adorable dog. Right away that had my son in a chair within seconds. Asked if we were thirsty, the accommodated my son and made sure he felt comfortable and asked what movie he wanted to watch on Netflix. I was very satisfied with their service. Did I mention they have a dog??? The lady (I wish I remembered her name) that was cutting my son's hair began a conversation with my son. Soon after that she began a conversation with me. I then learned it was a family business and the girl and guy cutting hair there were her son and daughter. Not sure if I mentioned this but....they have an adorable dog named Lupita....now I really wish I remembered the lady's name. All in all, The B Room has great service, does well with kids, my son's hair cut came out perfect, decent price, and the have a the most adorable dog there.
