Working with Junk King was a great experience from start to finish. I reached out via Yelp, where they provided a quote - a quote that they actually honored (lots of companies seem to come up with reasons to charge more once they're on-site). The team arrived on time, were very helpful and careful in bringing up the gym equipment from the basement, and charges were reasonable. In fact, they were willing to quote me for an additional machine that I hadn't mentioned and also hauled it away. I asked Chris what they do with the things that they haul away, and he mentioned that they try to donate things, so it's pretty cool to know that the items being taken away might have a new life and hopefully help someone. I was surprised at how much furniture removal costs. When I expressed my disbelief in a review I got an email from the manager asking me for more details. After a few conversations the manager, Mr. Donovan went above and beyond to make sure I was not only satisfied with the service provided but was happy as well. These conversations took place after business hours and Mr. Donovan used his personal time to take care of my issues. Great fast service, easy to request pick up service and reasonably priced. One thing that would be nice is the option to pay or pre-pay online with a credit card, or to select a payment type in advance... we wanted to pay with cash but found it wasn't an option once they were at the door. BTW - I tipped in cash but I was advised they accept tips by card and the owner cashes them out at the end of the day which I thought was a good business practice. We needed an air hockey table removed. I called a few places yesterday. Junk King was my final call. Customer service stated that they must see the items to determine the cost of removal. If I determined the price too high, no harm no foul. They asked when I needed it removed. I told them within a few days if possible. They gave me a 3 hour window and a call when they were a half hour out. They came on the earlier side of that window. Less than 24 hrs later, the air hockey table has been removed and it only cost us $89. The guys were polite and careful of the walls. It couldn't have been more convenient. we can't be more pleased with the help we received from Junk King.. starting with the lead.. Nate.. his professionalism was outstanding.. he looked at what we wanted hauled.. gave what we felt was a fair quote.. did the job which included a 50s hide-a-bed in the basement.. we also wanted to rid ourselves of a chest freezer in the basement.. he said he needed another guy.. made a second appointment and gave us a quote.. he came back at the time he said calling 15-20 minutes before.. while writing the check we told him we were planing to have carpet installed and did he know any movers.. they do that as well for a flat rate.. we called when we had an install date and they arrived on schedule.. can't say the same for the installer but that is for another post... again we totally recommend the Junk Kings... they also told us that appliances are checked an if working.. donate them.. not just trash them Bob Andersen read more

Junk King saved the day!!!!! On our move-out day, we were faced with a pile of junk we could not take with us. Junk King was able to come out to our house within a couple of hours (yes, they do same-day service!) to remove our items. In fact, they arrived early, and had our stuff removed in about 15 minutes. I thought it was very interesting that he never apologized for the comedy of errors and absolute lack of customer service. However he was quick to relate how bad any other company was and how they were not recycling and save his after thought of an apology for the end. The company I used got everything in one truck compared to junk kings 3 truck estimated over $1800! When I made my appointment I was clear I needed a full truck and they confirmed they would be there between 3-5pm. Again buyer beware! Junk king is a horrible company to use. ****************************************************************************** Here is their email: Michele, Our call center forwarded your email to me, and I wanted to reach out to you. While I understand your frustration, I'd like to clarify a few things from my end to hopefully ease any distaste. We are a family owned and run company, and we run our company more like a family with our structure and the way we treat our team. I do apologize that we were not able to be in a position to complete the entire removal on Saturday. We run a shorter schedule on Saturday for a few reasons. The first reason, is that after 2 o'clock, there is no recycling or disposal locations open for us to take anything to, as well as limited donation centers. Any other company that is open past 3 on Saturday is not almost certainly not disposing of items ethically. I do not know what company you called that we're able to do this, but I in all honesty do not see how that would have been possible. We have the largest fleet of Junk Removal trucks in Denver, and had we had the ability to quote your project prior to Saturday, we could have absolutely planned accordingly to send extra trucks and men. That late in the day though, there's just no logistical way for us to finish a project like that in such short notice. We are closed on Sunday's for two reasons, partly for the same reason as the Saturday short day (no recycling or disposal locations are open on Sundays) and also it's a guaranteed day for our team members to spend with their families. We have over 30 employees, and we enjoy being able to provide the stability of a guaranteed day for them all to relax and enjoy their time. The other thing I would like to address is the price. I personally saw the photos of your project, and I do feel as though 3 full truckloads was a fairly adequate and accurate quote. Again, I do not know what company you called, but based not the price you describe it was likely a much smaller company that likely is not disposing of items in the same we we do which does come at a cost that we cannot negotiate. I personally instructed our team to offer to remove what we were able to fit at the end of the day on Saturday, and that we could return on Monday to finish the project first thing in the morning. As a company, we do not guarantee any ability to complete any project same day, we can always start a project same day though, as unless we know ahead of time what the project entails and if a quote has been agreed upon there are limitations like any business that we must operate within as standard. Despite that we can and have handled essentially any size project as we do have the adequate resources. Our call center does book appointments, so I do not believe that my driver was not dismissing accountability, I believe he was attempting to convey that a call center rep booking an appointment for any given customer on any given day does not have the ability to foresee what can and cannot be done. Lastly, I do apologize that we were unable to earn your business, however I believe this falls into a perfect storm type situation where there truly wasn't an opportunity for us to be able to accommodate the project in such short notice. WOW!!! Why have I not used this bunch before???? This was 5-star from start to finish. Easy to use website let you get a quick estimate and book a pickup. They are able to take a wide range of items which is a huge plus! Once booked, I received a confirmation with details about the day of. As promised, about 25 minutes before arrival they called to let me know they'd be a few minutes early if that was OK! Two very polite and pleasant guys showed up, walked through my request with me, gave me an updated final estimate (which was very close to the online version) and off they went. One and done. They loaded the truck then the associates attempted to uncharge. I told them no so they partially unloaded but still charged me the same price.
