The nice thing is you pay based on how much of the truck is used, instead of hourly labor, gas or disposal costs (which is good, because our job took much longer than I expected based on the amount of stuff to haul). They did an on-site estimate beforehand, and Jacob and his team were very thorough in cleaning out our garage and asking if we wanted to save any items that may have value. I engaged in a quick text conversation with whomever and set an appointment the next day, Monday 2/25 to remove a 10' couch from my home. Two young men arrived at the time promised ( actually 1hour early) and promptly removed the couch. The cost was exactly what was agreed upon via text. No trying to get more money from me. (This morning) The two guys who came get a zero. The company gets a zero. The website says it removes soils, sod, landscaping debris. We had landscaped our front yard. We had maybe a yard-and-a-half of broken concrete. Two guys loaded in 15 minutes. They wanted $300. I offered $150. They took it. What about the dirt? The two guys said they didn't do dirt. Their supervisor, whom they called, told me "we don't take dirt. It's very difficult to get rid of." Tried to sell me on my dirt pile was 7 yards. Nope. It's just under 4 yards. Yet when we placed the order on Sunday, we told them what we had. "No problem" they told my wife. End result: concrete gone. About 4 cubic yards of front yard dirt still here. Spent the rest of the day waiting for a call back to explain why website says they'll remove dirt, but the local supervisor said they don't dirt. (4:30) The owner of the Petaluma office just called. More excuses. More explanations. He admits they completely mishandled us. Said they lose money hauling dirt. I said they need to change their website. They said they would tear up my check from this morning. Told us we should have been given the name and number of another company who would take the dirt. Why are these two guys working for you? Owner says they need them as they are understaffed. Interesting answer. Wrong answer. I'm also calling the BBB. And posting on Facebook. And anywhere else I can find. Junk Kings? I am moving to Hawaii and had a lot of last minute things I realized I didn't need. I didn't want to leave them behind for someone else to deal with- so I loaded six garbage bags full of things and went online to look at junk pick up. We had used a different company in the past- who were very nice- but don't do orders under 125$. This was definitely not going to be that much. So this was my first time using a junk removal service. I called these people on 7/24/2020, spoke with a male rep named "Alex." Alex took down my information, and all my specs, quoted me 105 to remove a 3 seater couch from a close by apartment, seemed easy enough. Alex informed me that they could even do same day service, which I thought was super convenient. We then decided that tomorrow 7/25/2020 in the afternoon (the quoted window was 1-3pm), would be better. So he confirmed all of my information and I told him, I'd have cash waiting for them to come and dispose of my couch. My wife and I were super excited. So, Sat 7/25 rolls around, and I had the couch ready to go in the living room. 1pm, no sign of them, fine, but then 3pm hits, no sign of them, no call. I decided at about 3:15pm to call them and see if they need more time. I get Cassandra on the phone who seems nice at first, however she can't locate my appointment. Ugh oh! She appears to be fumbling around with her computer and then finally says that she realizes that based on the call logs, I "did" speak with Alex yesterday, but there is no record of my order. "Must have been a glitch in the system," she says. She then goes on to say that she will have a manager call me back "soon." I wait another hour for the "manager." So now it's 4:15pm and the phone rings. It's Cassandra (no manager), who is telling me that there is a glitch, but "don't worry, we can come pick up your item, no problem." I say, "great! when can you do this?" She fumbles around in her computer and says, "looks like we have openings on Monday at 11am." I'm a bit upset at this point and reply, "you realize I placed this order for today, why am I having to wait till Monday." This is when she starts to get nasty with me (paying customer) over the phone and says, "well, we don't work on Sunday." I'm thinking wow, the tables are really turned here. You all must have LOADS of business to be treating upset customers with sarcasm. I remind her that I was waiting around during a booked window for 2 hrs and then waiting an additional hour for the "manager" however neither the movers nor the manager have seemed to "show up." She responds that she had to determine what the problem was. I reply back to her that it doesn't seem reasonable to spend another hour trying to determine the cause of the issue when clearly the company knew what the issue was one hour prior (i.e., nothing has changed). Also, there is no courtesy, no sincerity, no apology, just her trying to get me off the phone. I tell her I'm going someplace else because and she replies, "OK that's fine." So I guess buyer beware with this company. I am quite surprised by the super star reviews for these folks. I find them to be absolute "junk" at least when it comes to customer service. I can't even rate their moving skills as they didn't show up to move anything. Too bad they are one of the few outfits in my area. read more

My father recently passed away, and I had the unfortunate responsibility of keeping, donating and removing all of his personal belongings. After an exhaustive process, I still found myself buried under years of collected items; most of which were useless to me.
