The person who answered the phone couldn't have been more courteous or or helpful. I was able to get the exact day and time slot I wanted which NEVER happens. The prices are super reasonable - bordering on cheap! Scheduling an appointment was very easy and very fast. In fact, I was able to get same-day service. I have used two other junk removal companies in the past and Junk King's prices are very competitive. Actually, JK's price was lower than another company from which I had received a quote. The fact that JK could come the same day made this a no-brainer for me. The only thing I would suggest is that maybe the drivers be equipped with a few basic tools--a couple of screwdrivers and maybe an Allen wrench set in the event that some furniture pieces/parts have to be removed in order to move the whole piece--like at my place. Other than that, I found this a very good, reliable company and when I get around to some spring purging, I will definitely be calling Junk King. read more

I would be very careful of using Junk King. They were fast and efficient, but their price was unreasonable and I felt like they took advantage of me, especially because I was in a rush to get to work because they were late and I needed to make a decision. They charged me $420 to remove a fairly small amount of waste in the yard - it took up less than 1/3 of their truck - and then showed me a fee schedule as if it weren't negotiable. Then when I emailed the office, they essentially said it was negotiable, but not retroactively. It was really upsetting. If you do use them, I would try to negotiate them down to about 50% of their starting price, and don't let them take advantage of you, especially if you are a woman. read more

This was about the best service I could expect from a company. They responded to my online request within an hour, and just a few emails later, we had an appointment set up for the following day (today). They arrived on time (calling before arrival to confirm). After seeing our stuff (a big couch and a bunch of random things, tires, scrap metal, a toilet, etc.) we had some easy negotiations and settled on a price. What's truly exceptional is that after they loaded everything on to the truck, they said that the process was faster and easier than is typical, and they dropped the price from what we had agreed! After I wrote the check, they even agreed to take a few more things that we had forgot to include. This company was recommended to me by a friend, and it gets great reviews on Angie's List. Junk King was shockingly responsive and easy to schedule. I went on their website and requested a Saturday morning visit with very short notice (3 days?). They showed up on time and dealt with a huge pile of yard waste and old pine wood that nobody else would even give me a quote to remove (including multiple landscaping companies). Apparently the latest restrictions on yard waste disposal have made it difficult for everybody - and you're not allowed to rent a dumpster and use it to dispose of yard waste. Already had the fire department called on me when I tried to burn it. The only bummer was the price ($660) but its hard to fault them on that when nobody else would even talk to me about this job, they showed up fast, and got it all done in about an hour. A lot of the wood was in huge chunks as well so again, I do understand why it got expensive. read more

Called for a quote - sent a picture. Had an old sub-zero in the basement. One flight of stairs and out. Was quoted by Debra $114 + $15 dollar disposal fee. They showed up and said $250. Total bait and switch. What is the point of getting a quote? No their fault but they also showed up right at 11:00 in the 9-11 window. Very frustrating. Would not use them again. read more

The phone part was great. Tina was cordial, knowledgeable and very efficient. Pick up experience, not so much. I had explained the huge amount of things I needed removed, and it had to be before 1 pm. The guys showed up 2 days later as scheduled, but a half hour past the end of the quoted time window, with an already-full truck, and they moved as slow as molasses. My realtor actually ended up helping them load and trying to get them to pick up the pace. Nope. It says they take yard waste but they refused it. They left the driveway unswept and with big pieces of debris, too. The price was very reasonable however. read more

I've used Junk King twice now. First to remove a giant projection TV. Second to remove a basketball hoop and grill. Both times it was so much easier than I thought it would be. Tried out Junk King from a friend, he was decluttering his home and told me they have a mini dumpster for a good price. Dumpster came quick as expected but they've not yet given me, my $150 deposit. In total I've spent $480 on a dumpster they said would only be $345, I've attempted to call 6 times only to tell me they've emailed the onsite supervisor and said they would reach back out to me. This is 5 weeks after they've picked up the dumpster and said I was supposed to receive my deposit back. Don't use Junk King they are scam artists. Each week I call to no avail, if you want to spend $500 might as well go for a larger dumpster through another company. read more

We replaced our kitchen cabinets, and were trying to figure out how to get rid of them. We looked at Bagster and the other single-use dumpster options, but the trucks can't pick them up if there are power lines on your side of the street, because they use a giant crane. Junk King had appointments available the next business day. At first I was a little nervous about the "we can't give you a final price until we show up" business model, but it makes sense, since people tend to over or under-estimate how much stuff they had. The appointment window was 2-4pm, and they arrived around 3:45. They called beforehand to let me know they were on the way. I stand by what I said with this correction. I forgot that there was a kitchen table, one rolled up rug and a small amount of kitchenware. Nothing close to 7 queen sized beds. When the drivers quoted us $618 we told them no. They quickly dropped the price to $500 ( for 2 beds, 2 TVs, one table and one rug). We should have said no. When we told them to go ahead they SMASHED everything in the house -- a perfectly useable table, a solid maple bed. It literally made me feel sick.
