Unfair tactics. No mention of a charge to pick up one item, TV. They advertise under Free Junk Removal, get people to call. Then the drivers show up demanding hundreds of dollars to move the stuff, whether one item or a housefull. Maybe they are reasonable for large loads, but for one or two items it seems like a ripoff. I was especially unhappy after shopping with several firms who did offer free pick up of usable items. Then they drove off and I noticed their message "Save $30 by booking online.", which I did. They removed several pieces of very large furniture (one from the 2nd floor) like it was made of paper!! They are fast, efficient and mindful of your home and property. Best junk removal company i've ever dealt with! I had a pile of junk in the backyard I've been meaning to move forever and they did it within 30 minutes! They were not only on time but notified me 15 minutes prior to their arrival and managed to arrive early. Overall, we are very disappointed with Junk Kings, which was a huge surprise given the excellent Yelp reviews. The gentlemen who came over (Charles, Nick and...James (?)) were extremely friendly, helpful and respectful. No complaints there. We are giving 2 stars because of the immense cost difference given in our estimate. I called five companies with our needs (3 large items), and Junk Kings gave the lowest at $188-$300. The person on the phone giving me the quote said the price is dependent on volume. Well, when the gentlemen actually came in they commented on how the tub and the piano were both much smaller than they expected. I thought, "Great! Maybe it'll be closer to $200." Well, their onsite estimate was $418. And the gentleman said it was due to the weight. He emphasized that the piano alone has a specific cost. When I called for a quote they said the piano does not have any additional fee and the cost is only calculated by volume. I told this gentleman that they said on the phone it was all about volume and he said something to the effect of "yeah they don't know what they're talking about." We ended up moving forward with using them because it was such a hassle to get home early from work to meet them, etc. We are really disappointed in this company. We would not use again due to the the dishonesty- whether it's on the call center's side or somewhere else I don't know. Major bummer to spend $100+ more than expected and receive conflicting information. read more

It was a very large spa that required chopping down to small chunks, and Junk King did not charge anything extra for that service.
