I appreciated that they answered the phone right away. Didn't get a message to call back or leave a message like the 1st two I called. They set up an appointment same day at a convenient time. The driver made a courtesy call to say they were on their way. They were up front with the price list and what it would cost. When asked if they could take the time right then to load up the truck full of our junk, they were accommodating and said yes. Don't call anybody else. These guys are the rock stars of removal. I emailed Byron in the evening for a quote. He responded in less than 10 minutes. I explained that realtors where coming to take photos of my mother in law's home and we were let down by another removal company. Byron was able to get me an appointment the next afternoon. Big difference with these guy;s is they come out and give an estimate on the spot. If you like it great , if not no big deal. That is the best way to get an accurate quote. Don't waist your time sending photos to other companies for a quote. On the morning of my appointment a service tech named Mike contacted me and said that he could come sooner than planed. Mike was awesome! I had underestimated the size of my pile. After some friendly negotiations he took a 590.00 load for 350.00! He respected my mother in law's budget and still got the job done. Junk King insisted on coming on-site before providing a bid for a spa removal. That said, they were good with their communications on setting the appointment and providing updates on the timing of their arrival. Unfortunately, we were unable to come to an arrangement as their liability insurance does not cover disconnecting electrical for the spa and I was advised to have an electrician come out in order to cap it or that I cut the wire myself which I declined to do. I have to say that I was surprised as they specifically list spa removals; so I had assumed that they would have the expertise necessary to manage it from start to finish - but you know what they say when you make assumptions. My review is not intended to knock Junk King, just providing constructive criticism and I'm glad that their employees chose not to risk their safety. Instead, I went with another servicer who can turn off the breaker, cut the main wire and secure the line when they've finished removing the spa. read more

Worked with the new owner Steve and he was great! I was worried because of the reviews written of the previous owner and how he quoted low and changed the price when they arrived, but I thought I'd give them a try because they were the only company that could come out quickly. Steve was quick to respond, gave me a fair price quote and was on time. Customer service is so important to me and they were 5 star customer service all the way! I ended up paying more than I was quoted, but in their defense I just gave an estimate of how many garbage bags I needed them to haul. It was a lot less than I ended up having. I would be shocked if Junk King ever responded. I received a quote in writing and then confirmed everything over the phone. Junk King quoted $116-$168. The actual cost came in at $368. I don't blame the private contractor - I blame Junk King. They bait you with a low estimate and then you get nailed with the truth. The guys who picked up the furniture were friendly. Although I submitted an email request on the website, an estimate was never provided nor did they apply the discount stated on the site for pickups over $99. The time I scheduled was specifically to fit around my work activities for the day of the pickup, but they called twice to move the time up and I ended up sacrificing my lunch meeting just to get their pickup over with so they'd quit calling. The website and people who answer the phone clearly said that part of their business is to donate, reuse, recycle items when possible. The guys literally threw everything crashing into the back of a truck destroying any possible future use. They are prompt and professional. Driver called and was on time as scheduled. My biggest complaint is the cost. I did not have that much stuff to move and the guy quoted me a charge of $338. I let him know that was a complete ripoff and pointed out the few items I had and was expecting a price of $100 tops. He dropped the price to $268. I am desperate as I need to get my house up for sale soon, so I reluctantly agreed to pay. If you decide to use them, expect to be overcharged. Make sure you get a quote before they show up. I needed a mattress, box springs and metal frame hauled away. For whatever reason I didn't lock down the price beforehand, I was somewhat anxious to get rid of it and I figured there would be standard pricing. In other words, I was dumb. Anyway the guys show up, spend 3 minutes taking the junk to the vehicle, then come back for payment. The guy asks if I have a quote (wouldn't he know that already?), I say no, he whips out some official looking chart and suddenly it's north of $200.
