I have moved many times in my lifetime, and this was by far the worst experience EVER! I will summarize so anyone considering them, RUNS THE OTHER DIRECTION! -Broke a $3,000 tabletop, called them 5 times and after a week someone offered $120 stating that's all their insurance covers. Bull$%!+ and if that's true, that's crap since they are franchising out and don't have quality insurance coverage. -There staff took multiple smoke breaks, and we are pretty positive that they were smoking more than just cigarettes. -They lost the screws/hardware to our master bedroom frame, so we are left figuring out how to put our bed together. -longest move when we had boxed everything up and sold a lot of furniture to expedite the process. Started at 8am and ended at 330pm. They are the worst in moving companies and frankly, I will NEVER use them or recommend them. The lack of care for items not their own is insane, and customer service is nonexistent. I wouldn't recommend them at all, save your money and go with someone else. read more

Just a follow up to my prior poor review. I filed a Civil Court Complaint against Dylan Cook and Moving U and Junk U. Dylan was served and he signed and returned the papers to the Court. He even confirmed the day before with the court that he would attend the hearing. I attended the hearing with my lawyer and Dylan NEVER showed up for the hearing. Therefore, the Judge issued a Judgement against him to pay me for the broken furniture and poor service. it is a year later , Dylan Cook and Moving U & Junk U has not issued a payment. When he does, I will update my review that he make good on his judgement! I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and saw that his rating is a "C" on there as well. read more

Never sued anyone before, but these guys deserved it (we won) - they should not be in business! Nice guys, but NO CLUE how to pack a truck to avoid damage during transport. 90% of our furniture was damaged with severe scratches, dents, breaks, deep scuffs and more. The walls moving in also had a lot of damage which would explain some of the damage to our furniture. Maybe we got the Junk U team that day by accident? After our experience I would not even hire them for hauling junk away. They ran out of padding and plastic wrap 1/2 way through the packing process. Furniture collided during travel due to poor packing and padding. Never ever use this company. They will destroy your items and display the most non chalant response to the damage. I will share the letter I sent the manager as well as the pics "This was a terrible delivery. Your delivery people broke my large vase. A value of 400.00. They tore the leather on the headboard and the footboard of my bed, and punctured a hole in the box spring .The crew leader was polite, however one of the the other young men he was with shrugged his shoulders when the damage was mentioned and followed up with "that's what happens with deliveries some time. All you can do is tell our boss." He also proceeded to tell me I should have transported my vase in my car, which would have been a better decision than allowing g then to put it in the truck. I apologize for relying on the delivery service to adequately deliver service. So in short, they destroyed property and then one of them (not the light skin gentlemen, nor the crew lead) had the audacity to be smug about it." Terrible experience of course they were spotting my accent so thought that would be easy to do a less good job, i get it Welcome to the land of free!!! i won't recommended these two gentlemens that this company sent me were totally unprofessional in my opinion. First, they didn't disassemble my queen bed, were in rush, instead of evaluating the very narrow hallway, they scratch off all my pieces of my bed, doing the disassembling in the stairs. Highest possible recommendation. Getting a quote was easy and the price came in cheaper than many competitors. The movers arrived before the predetermined window, plotted out a plan, reviewed it with me and then started the clock. They worked tirelessly, all day. Packing stuff, moving stuff, disassembling and reassembling. They were friendly, pleasant, and so so good at what they were doing. It was a lot, but they did all of it. They made sure we were perfectly happy where everything went in the new place, even after we changed our minds here and there. Then we went back to the old place and they took a bunch of previously discussed junk - old patio furniture and a grill. They were awesome. Junk-U cleared out our 2 storage units, which needed to go to the dump. They sent a man to evaluate the job last week, so I expected them to send a big enough truck to do it, or 2 trucks, but no, they sent 1 small truck. Then they said the nearest dump was closed, so they'd have to drive 45 minutes to the other dump. This left us waiting an extra 2 hours. Then they told us they don't leave the unit "broom clean," which is required by the storage place, so we'll have to make arrangements to have that done too. Then I paid online by credit card, only to see that they added a whopping $16+ to the price for using a credit card, which they never said in advance. So altogether, adequate but not really professional service. read more

Never had an issue getting in contact with them before my move, now that the move is complete and they've charged my card, they will not respond to calls or emails regarding incorrect billing or damaged items. First the guys went to the wrong location. When they got here they claimed that my couch wouldn't fit down the stairs of my new home. My husband and I had to talk them through how to get it down the stairs, tho they are supposed to be professional movers. My dining chair and a lamp shade were damaged and I was advised by one of them that it wasn't a big deal. They also sent 3 people for the move rather than 2 which I was quoted and charged me $65 per person per hour. Lastly, they did not reattach the mirror to my dresser and did not leave the screws so that I could do it myself. I've tried to call to have this issue resolved and also replied to the email that they sent me on the day after my move and haven't received a response since. I will be disputing these charges as fraudulent as i did not get the service I was quoted or promised and the company refuses to respond to my requests. read more

Worst experience ever. I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior in my life. I contacted this company months before I planned to move to Johnstown PA to start medical residency. I went to the website and filled out a interest form at which time I designated where I was moving with the appropriate zip code. I was contacted by telephone and email with a follow up estimate and spoke with several individuals including Dylan, Jordan and Olive. Each time we confirmed my moving address. I have multiple email correspondence which I have included in photos for this review with dates months in advance. TWO days before my move I get an email, no phone call, stating my move is cancelled. Please let me reiterate how many times I wrote both the city and the zip code of my moving destination when corresponding with Multiple individuals; at least 6 times both through form, on the phone and through email AND signed contract where I gave a deposit and my moving address was on the contract. We moved from KOP to Collegeville and we were impressed with the professionalism, care and quality of their services. Steve and his team disassembled what needed to be taken apart, moved a lot of heavy items and once in the new place they were very careful about taking our things out and reassemble the furniture. We were impressed with how fast they got everything back together! Nothing was broken and everything was put back perfectly. I would definitely hire them back! We hired Moving U to move us from one house to another. They had the day we needed and their prices were good compared to other companies we checked out so we went with them. They called on the morning of the move to let us know they were on their way. Three guys, Nas, Brendan, and Chuck, came and were very polite, professional and hard working. We wanted mostly just our big furniture items moved from a small rowhouse so it was not an easy job, but these guys did great! There were a few small things broken but they were not a big deal(a doorknob, a solar light). You kind of expect a few hiccups. No furniture was damaged or broken, which to me, was important. It was extremely hot that day, and these guys really worked their butts off. I would recommend Moving U to anyone looking for good movers. read more

The best! I started as a young bachelor in Philadelphia and I found myself using literally every moving company in the city. I felt that most over charged, weren't efficient, or damaged my stuff. Moving U was fabulous, the team they sent me got the damn thing done. They showed up on time and moved me from the city to the burbs by mid noon. Dylan is the first moving company manager who actually listened to me about how heavy my beloved leather sleeper sofa is! A few weeks prior to my move, Logan, another one of the managers, came out to my apartment to check out the couch. In an effort to save me money he recommended two men to start the move and offered to send over a manager when we got to my new apartment which had a precarious entrance and stairwell. Did I mention I moved from a first floor townhouse into a third floor apartment? The two gentlemen who started my move were fast and efficient. When we got to my new place, Logan and Steve, another manager, showed up to help move my couch. They communicated effectively and were able to squeeze my couch through the doorway after a few attempts using creative techniques. I am SO happy with the way the move went. Moving is so stressful - but they make it a little easier. Scheduling the service was very easy, and I got a call the day off letting me know they were on the way. Movers were definitely fast, as in they did not waste time, and confirmed that everything was going in the truck, rather than assuming. I tried to book them FOUR separate times and each time they never sent me the contract to sign. Every time I called to follow up, they didn't have record of me contacting them but promised they'd show up on the day of my move. Great experience. Caleb and Bobby were very gentle with our furniture. They moved us in a snowstorm, with no complaints. Even when they had to move a treadmill! I thought I had made their job way too easy since we moved our own boxes and some of our smaller furniture, but these guys hustled and looked after all of our furniture, even when I suggested my husband's "Bow Flex" could fall off the back of the truck! I moved a few months ago and had a horrible experience. They sent a team of 4 guys to my home without so much as a screw driver. The guys insisted my couch did not fit down our stairs (it did with legs removed which we told them repeatedly) they damaged hard wood floors in multiple rooms, put a few giant holes in the wall, broke some light fixtures and spent quite a bit of time in the truck hanging out instead of moving our stuff. My husband and I ended up bringing loads of stuff down the stairs. They ended up doing about 3200 dollars worth of damage to our old house on the way out. They does not take into account multiple pieces of furniture that ended up damaged. They comped us the cost of the move which was 2400 they won't answer my calls about the additional 800. The team that moved us in the next day was much better... however the team they sent the first day did not appear to be professional movers at all! Management has been horribly unprofessional and has not answered repeated calls. Use at your own risk/ if you want your stuff and your home damaged. read more

Picture this...On a day you have to be out by a certain time, pre arranged moving company "A" shows up with 3 gentlemen easily in their late 50's to move a 3000 sq foot house. Again, this job was not a surprise as details were pre arranged. We only needed the large stuff and some boxes as we'd already moved most things. Clearly overwhelmed, undermanned, and full of "I wish we hadn't taken this job" comments, company "A" was sent on their way. Here comes company "B", THE MOVING U/JUNK U guys, who saved the MF'n day! On a busy Saturday with no openings, two managers, went over and beyond to rent a truck and show up within 40 minutes of our call! They then called around for some of their staff who finished smaller jobs in the AM to join in on the help. These young gentlemen came, devised a well thought out plan of attack, and emptied our house professionally and quickly. They even took the trash/junk I planned on having to return and move myself. In my Billy Mays voice, "But wait! There's more!" At the new house, a 1700's/1800's era home of narrow stairwells and questionable doorjams, these cherubs of efficiency were able to move large objects with matrix-like-rubiks-cube dimensional rotations to their final resting spots. They even corrected previous mistakes laid forth by poopbutt moving company "A". At the conclusion of the job, they offered to come back at any time to move heavy items if need be to which I actually utilized 2 weeks later. These gentlemen get a huge stamp of approval and my recommendation for all things moving, removal, and/ or heavy lifting. TL/DR: Professional, efficient, priced accordingly. I contacted this company a month ago to coordinate a move scheduled for last weekend. I received numerous emails and phone calls prior to confirming the details. Once the contract was signed and deposit ($100) obtained we were told our arrival window would be 8am-10am. On the Wednesday before the move scheduled for Saturday, my husband received a phone call stating our arrival time changed to 10am-12pm. On the day of the move, we didn't receive any calls between 10am -12pm. We called the number listed on the site and in the email only to find out the number was only functional M-F. We also sent numerous emails that day just in case. We ended up calling UHaul to set up a move for the following day because we assumed Moving U and Junk wasn't showing up. 3 hours later we received a phone call from them stating they were 30 mins out. The three young men that showed up didn't acknowledge the time discrepancy and we weren't quite sure they were even aware. They were professional, quick, and placed items in the designated places. The movers did a great job and were very efficient. The Monday after the move my husband called the main number to inquire about our inconvenience and he was told that he would be receiving a follow up call and email. Thursday arrived without a call from the company so we called them. Initially we were told they didn't have our move on file and that they needed us to reply to the last email was sent. After some clarification we were transferred to the manager (Steve). Although Steve apologized for the inconvenience, he stated that this was the first he had heard of this incident. My husband asked if we could be compensated for the $700 move with return of our deposit. Steve stated that was a hefty amount to return and offered $30. With more prompting, then offered $75 in return.
