When i moved out of Boulder this past year, one of my concerns was... where in the world am i going to get my hair done?! I am a government employee, so I'm not exactly rolling in the dough. And I am VERY particular about my hair. Once I find a good salon/stylist, I stick to it. Sydni at Juno is that stylist for me. She hails from Utah and began her training at Paul Mitchell. She is certified in SOCAP hair extensions, Coppola Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy, and Feather Luxe Extensions as well. Every time I come in -- which is once a month now due to the outrageously reasonable price to get a hair cut ($45) -- she has a huge smile on her face and she is ready to make my hair look amazing. I recently chopped all my hair off and opted for a new look, and I completely trusted Sydni. She offered me a glass of wine (complementary) and went straight to work, and I was, and still am, very pleased. When I come in for trims, she uses the same care that she did with the big change. All in all... I LOVE her! The salon overall is such a wonderful one. I have always been greeted by Philliip, who is a doll! He offers you a drink, a Hershey's nugget, and a little polite conversation. One thing that I have noticed is that the Food Network is on the tv every time I go in... which is odd but it's better than the hair fashion shows that most snobby salons play. One of the things that I love most about Juno is its size. It is located in the space right next to Le Central and is therefore very small. There are only four stylists and an array of assistants. It feels like a family of sorts and they welcome all of their clients in with open arms. Juno uses Bumble and Bumble, which is one of my favorite hair product lines. It can get kind of pricey if you chose to buy the products the stylists use on you, but as I am quite particular with my hair, I think it's worth it. If you are looking for a warm, friendly, knowledgeable salon, Juno is the one for you. Although I've never had any of the other stylists, I have heard they are all competent (as for the poor review re: Whitney, she does not appear to be on the stylist roster on the website, so I'm not sure that she still works there). I will say again that I LOVE Sydni and would recommend her to anyone. read more

Juno has been one of the best things that has happened to my hair and to me. After my regular hairdresser showed up to an appointment still intoxicated from a night out on the town, I decided it was time to look for another salon and "home away from home." Juno was suggested to me by a co-worker and their haircut/highlight special perked my interest. $45 for a cut and highlights? Not bad! Co-worker had gorgeous color, fab cut and impeccable taste so I made an appointment. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of parking. Snagging a meter, I pushed a few quarters in and hurried over to the salon. To my utter astonishment, they asked if I needed money for the meters! A salon that feeds your parking meters for you?!?! I must be dreaming! Nope, the staff kept my meter fed and happy and my car ticket free during my 3 hour appointment. Whitney was my stylist. She was friendly, incredibly professional and made me feel like a wealthy diva with money to throw around. For a "fun-employed" gal, that was worth more than the haircut. I was offered wine, water, magazines and chocolate; the calm ambiance and inviting decor added to the pampered feeling. Juno is a Bumble and Bumble salon and I loved the way all the products smelled and felt in my hair. My highlights/lowlights came out fantastic, enhancing my natural color. The haircut was superb and Whitney gave me the best blow out I've ever had. It lasted for a week. A week! I am an active gal and visit the gym on a daily basis. Whatever she did made my hair look amazing even after a week of sweat, bedhead and stressful workdays. I was so impressed that to date, I've had Whitney style my hair for 2 dance competitions, went ahead and had full color done (which I have NEVER done before and turned out beyond fab) and recommended Juno to 5 friends. They have all made appointments and been just as happy with their experiences with the salon and staff. read more

I am obsessed with this place. The staff is incredibly talented, and this salon was among the first to offer hair feathers before they became a fad. You can't beat the ambiance. It's cozy and elegant, and they offer you a glass of wine before your cut. Alexandra is so adorable! I had such a great conversation with her; it was almost as if we had been friends for years! I've never felt so at ease and welcomed, and the hair cut was great. Proof: I saw my boyfriend afterwards and he said "Your hair is the best I've ever seen!" Juno is like the Cheers of salons, but instead of going downstairs you walk upstairs. Then in to the front door, and you feel like you've come home. There are warm, soothing colors, an inviting decor with large ornate mirrors and free gum(who doesn't love free gum?!). There has been great attention to detail from the soothing decor, to the cool asymmetrical water glasses with refreshing COLD water, to the parking meter key in case you don't have change. Wendy cut and highlighted my hair and not only did she do a fabulous job, she's super easy to talk to. This is definitely one to add to your list! read more

Jen Abel is the trifecta of hair stylests. I've been to a million (ok...maybe 8ish) hair stylists in Denver, and they ranged from "decent" to "holy shit how did anyone let this person hold a pair of scissors". Jen has done an awesome job on my color (bringing me from dark brown to strawberry blonde...and back dark). She styles/cuts it pretty. And I get to drink wine there. BOOM. Trifecta. No, I do not drink every time...but that could be a great way to make your hair look better. I've been going to her for a year and a half-, I followed her from 3 Little Birds. I don't pick a hairstylist so I can have a new BFF, so it's just a bonus (Quadfecta?) that she's super easy to talk to and the time goes by fast. Sometimes I read...sometimes I talk- not awkward at all. So happy that after 5+ years, I finally found someone in Denver that I trust to do my hair! I feel like the prices are pretty average for cut/color in Denver. Nothings cheap if you want someone good doing it. P.S. Park on Sherman b/c the meters are for 5 hours there. read more

It's hard finding a place that knows how to do a good job without you holding their hand and instructing them for every step or move. This is truly an exceptional place, they use Bumble Bee tonic to wet your hair before cutting it and I can't remember what Duane used to style it. Duane cut and styled my hair and I was more than pleased. We chatted and discussed what we were going to do the hair before he even touched my hair with a tool. After about 6 weeks living with an unfortunate haircut from an unnamed salon (seriously, not good), I knew I had to remedy the disastrous layers and haphazard bangs. I searched Yelp yet again to find something close to home, reasonably priced, and highly-reviewed. Lo and behold, Juno saved the day. As if I needed more of an incentive to make an appointment, they were running a crazy free hair color or partial highlights with a haircut deal. Seriously? Can't pass on that. I called to schedule an appointment and got the machine, no message left. No big deal, I thought, I can wait a few minutes and call back. However I didn't even need to do that; they returned my call and I scheduled an appointment for later that afternoon. To top it off, one of my girlfriends called right after me and got an appointment at the same time. Fabulous! Melissa not only salvaged the [lack of] haircut that I had but gave me one of the best cuts ever. I have never regularly colored or highlighted my hair so Melissa was great at recommending what would best match my skin tone and frame my face. I got a great all over color and she threw in partial highlights for only $20 more. My total bill was $75 for a cut, color, and highlights. Are you kidding me?! My girlfriend got a great cut too but it wasn't exactly what she wanted. She called back later that afternoon and they brought her in the next day, free of charge, to alter the cut. After finally getting sick of your basic "chop shop" haircut, I decided to give Juno a shot. Long story short - They are absolutely FABULOUS! I scheduled my appointment for after work, and Whitney, my new favorite stylist, stayed late to take care of me. I have a LOT of really fine hair, and I got the worst of both - hair that seems really thick, but gets weighed down if I use product, and has a tendency to poof if there is a hint of moisture, so I'm difficult to work with, anyway. Add to that the fact that my hair is naturally Shirley Temple curly, and I love wearing it straight at times, and you've got one tough customer to please. I chose Juno because they were a reasonably priced salon I pulled off of Google. I will stay because I received an AMAZING new hairstyle that I can wear curly or straight, and even grow out well, and because I really liked the service I got there. The salon is extremely cute and whimsical, and all of the employees are really friendly. Also, for first time users (AKA, me) they offer a coupon for a free mini hilight on their Web site. I only needed one time (this past winter) to go here to find out that this was no the new hair salon for me. After months of not maintaining my cut and color (due to my previous hair stylist at a different salon moving to the burbs) I decided to try a new place. My old place was nice, but they didn't take credit cards and I had zero relationship with any of the other stylists so I didn't feel a need to stay. I actually looked on here for guidance, and thought that this place seemed to have everything I was looking for and was just a few blocks away. I wish I had listened to the bad reviews on here! Aside from having to wait over 30 minutes for my new hair stylist to arrive because either she or the front desk woman mixed up my actual appointment time, the visit went pretty OK. My stylist (once she arrived) was friendly and together we found a really awesome new color for me. Flash forward- my color faded within LESS than a week. LESS! I understand colors don't stay vibrant forever, and I know how to maintain them to maximize their longevity, but LESS THAN A WEEK! Worse off, she used some special kind of scissors on my hair that made my cut look cute when I walked out, but my hair was a wreck for months to come. She used some kind of 'texturizing' scissors on my fine hair, so every time I washed it, it dried lopsided or frizzy (and I don't naturally have frizzy hair!) I make a point of this because when I got a trim at another place a few months later (or should I say a cut because my hair was so damaged from the first cut due to having to use a straightener everyday) I explained what had happened to my new stylist and she thought it was an idiotic and rookie move that a "professional" hair cutter would use the type of scissors on the kind of hair I had. Bottom line- They're not big on punctuality and not very good or knowledgeable at what they do. read more

I've been to this salon twice. The first time was a few years ago and I really enjoyed my hair afterwards. The price was okay, about $100 for a cut and color. My experience this year was nothing like the first time. I let the girl know that I wanted red underneath, a few blonde highlights and a nice cut. My hair has been growing out a lot lately, so I wanted to get some nice layers and a good amount taken off. The red color that she picked out turned out more brown and then when she was cutting my hair, implied that I shouldn't cut it that short. I had her cut more off, but it really wasn't what I wanted. The whole ordeal was $150, which was absolutely ridiculous. I have never paid that much to get my hair done, and I think it's a rip off considering how much hair salons actually pay for the dye. Went in for a cut an color. I have a unique color scheme that I wanted touched up, and they did it well, if not a bit dark, but I was assured it was to prevent premature fading (and that HAS proven true). They like the dry cut, which I had never had, but was pretty cool. I'll go back. read more

I followed Nikki from her former salon and I have to say, I'm impressed. Juno was clean, classy and well-kept. The music selection was good and upbeat, but not frenetic. The receptionist was polite and friendly and the other stylists seemed happy, which reflects well on the establishment. Of course, I was there to see Nikki and she never disappoints. I just needed a trim this visit, but as always, Nikki was attentive, listened to what I was looking for and I walked out of there feeling like a new woman worth a million bucks. I've been coming to Juno since 2015, and my hair has never looked so good. Melissa and Brittany have both cut my hair; and Melissa gives me highlights. I also buy the Beverly Hills shampoo. Between all that, I have strangers - customers at work, nurses at the doctors' office - complimenting me on my hair. The highlights are so subtle and natural looking; the shampoo makes my hair soft and shiny and no static; and the cut is easy to maintain and flattering to my round face. I love this place! Juno is tucked away in an unassuming part of 8th street. I've gotten my hair cut here four times now, three times with Kim. She is phenomenal! Kim is incredibly personable and knows exactly how I like my hair styled. She does an awesome blowout as well. I also got a bellayage here with Brittany, and she was amazing as well. Not only was she incredibly patient, she also really took her time to understand how I wanted the color to look and flow in my hair. I absolutely love this salon and my stylist in particular, Alexandra. She is beyond talented and an amazing person as well. I have very thick naturally frizzy hair that is not easy to manage, but it is no problem for her! Not only does Alexandra do an amazing job cutting my hair but she can blow it out and make it look like I've spent hours straightening with a flat iron. I recently had the keratin smoothing treatment done per her recommendation, and it was the greatest thing that has ever happened to my hair . I could wash my hair and either blow dry it quickly or let it air dry for that effortless beachy look. Except this time it actually was effortless! I highly recommend this salon and this stylist in particular! You will not regret it. If you're are considering this treatment because you have thick frizzy hair, don't hesitate book your appointment today! It was about $300 (not including tip) and took about 3 hrs and lasts from 3-6months depending on your hair type. The only downside to this treatment is that you can't get your hair wet or sweaty for 72hrs! That was difficult but completely worth it. read more

I'd really hate to write a bad review but I cannot help myself. The first time I went to Juno, I had a fabulous time. My hairdresser was Brooke and she worked so well with me to figure out what I wanted and she did so well with my crazy thick hair. The second time I went I decided to get my hair colored in an ombre style (with a different hairdresser because Brooke was unavailable that weekend). When I had called to make an appointment I made sure that they knew that I always take a little bit longer than most clients due to my thick hair...& this is what i did once again so they could prepare to have extra time allocated for my appointment. Not only did they not allocate time, the whole time I felt rushed and bad for having too much hair. The color was horrible, and she didn't not offer to fix it because she was in a rush (it was orange and NOT blonde) and then she proceeded to cut my hair even though the color was wrong...so many things were terrible that I couldn't even talk. SO that horrible experience really put a bad taste in my mouth, but i really enjoyed going there so i was willing to give it a second try with my original hairdresser but when I booked the appointment I found out she no longer worked there but still proceeded to give it a try. So on tuesday I booked an appointment for a haircut for saturday afternoon (a couple days before my birthday) and once I arrived I was told that I had NO APPOINTMENT and was told in a condescending way that I should have made sure I had an appointment because they typically call the day before to confirm. Well, excuse me that I have to double check and make sure you do your work. How incredibly rude. I am just so fed up that I just can't bring myself to go there again especially if they can't make sure that they put appointments in their books and treat their customs with an once of respect. Now they places I have tried to book cannot get me in before my birthday on tuesday and I'm stuck without getting a haircut. Not the end of the world, but I am very pissed. read more

I moved here from Dallas and am pretty particular about my hairstylist. Prior to moving to Dallas, I had the same stylist for about 15 years - from graduate school through marriage and two kids. I trusted her implicitly and had trouble finding a new stylist in Dallas (went through three in two years). So, I was a little nervous when we moved to Denver. However, after some on-line searching, I found a great stylist in Alexandra at Juno Salon. Aside from a lack of convenient parking in a busy location, the salon itself is really fabulous and cozy. I was greeted by a friendly assistant and didn't have to wait long for my appointment. They use Bumble and Bumble products exclusively, which I happen to like, but if you are particular about product you should know this going in. Alexandra listened intently to what I wanted - which wasn't too specific and more of a general dissatisfaction with what I had. She offered suggestions, took my feedback, and provided a fantastic cut and style based on our conversation. Not only did she provide a cut that framed my face better but she also styled it in a way that was easy to recreate at home. She knows what she is doing! So far I've only gotten cuts and styles but this fall will venture into color, which I currently do myself since I'm not doing highlights or other more complicated things. The price is also great - $45 for a cut and style. Definitely give Juno and Alexandra a try! read more

Brittany was supposed to die my hair blonde. What she did to my hair was ruin it. After I left the salon, my hair was brassy and orange. She performed a high lift which I was told me another hair dresser (the one I went to to fix it) that that procedure should have never been done. After having two different stylists give me two different bad haircuts when I asked for a new style of sideswept angled bangs in my long thick hair and a disastrous experience with Ergun Tercan salon regarding my Livingsocial coupon, I ended up here. I had read some very positive Yelp reviews and decided to take a chance, and I'm SO glad I did. I called to set up an appointment yesterday and they were able to get me in this morning...super fast! The moment I walked in, I knew it was going to be a great experience. My dog was waiting out front for me, and the guy at the desk offered to get me a big water bowl for him and a coffee and cream for me-- from a fresh pot! My stylist, Audrey, was incredibly friendly and really dedicated to getting me the exact style I wanted. And it turns out, she used to be a stylist at Ergun Tercan, so I ended up getting the haircut I would've paid more for there with none of the hassle they gave me. I normally hate salons and getting haircuts (I often feel like trendy salons turn their noses up at "certain kinds of customers"), but everyone at Juno was so warm and friendly, and you can't beat the price. I walked out with awesome bangs and relief at finally having found a regular salon. I'll definitely be back to see Sydney for my next haircut...and the coffee wasn't half bad either! :-) read more
