On October 20th I had a flight from Newark airport at 5 am in the morning. I called a few local car services earlier (I live in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn) to compare prices. Jupiter asked 55$ for their services and 30$ for tolls. I agreed. We agreed that if car picks me up at 2.45 I will have plenty of time not to worry about missing the flight. Over all everything was pleasant. At 2.30 I noticed a car stopped by my house and realized it was my taxi. Driver called my cell around 2.40. I got inside car, we had a small talk and then I started surfing web while he drove and listened to his very quiet radio. What a nice way to start my trip. Now on google maps it says it takes 30 minutes to get to the airport but you have to take Verrazano bridge. When we passed it by, I asked him where are we going and he replied that Verrazano is not that fast and that he knew a faster way. And this is when I realized how fast he was going. I understand it was only 3 am but he was by passing every car on the highway in a matter of seconds. We finally reached Manhattan and then got in a traffic after crossing the tunnel in New Jersey. There was some kind of accident. When we finally got to the airport at 3.44 I realized that he didn't pay a single toll and understood why he drove all the way to Manhattan like a maniac. Obviously he asked for 30$ that I didn't want to give him. When I reasoned that he didn't pay one toll he responded that "I didn't see him do it" (my eyes where glued to the road in fear that we will crash or get stuck in the traffic and running late). I ended up not fighting since I was running late to my flight and paid 85$. Everything started so nice and ended up with speeding up on the highway,worrying about missing a flight, hating every car in the traffic and with bitter taste in my mouth for overpaying. read more

I called this morning at 6:15am for a 6:45am pick up and they said sure, no problem. 6:51 rolls around and no sign of my ride... I called back, they said he'll be there in three minutes so I said ok... 6:58 rolls around and nothing, so I called and they put me on hold to look for my ride. They get back to me saying one minute, one minute. Then it's after 7am and still no sign of my ride. I call back for a third time, they put me on hold again. While I'm on hold a car pulls up and I ask if he's from Jupiter, he says no but they sent him here anyway? I'm not sure what that meant but I hopped in and gave him my destination because Jupiter was over 20 minutes late - I didn't get in a car until 7:08. I often need a car service for work so I would've been a regular customer but I need a company I can count on. I know that today was rough with the snow, but if they were having difficulties with timing, I wish they would've been honest with me. I will be looking elsewhere, unfortunately. read more

I am writing this review from my Uber ride to the airport. Why am I in an Uber at 5 a.m.? Because Jupiter didn't show up! When I called the dispatcher said that they put my reservation down for 6 a.m.? Hmm that's funny. BECAUSE I BOOKED ONLINE FOR 5 a.m.! And even went through the confirmation process. Icalled again later in day to see what went wrong, did I make a mistake, again no answer. I wanted to give them a high score as price and close proximity to where I live are great. I've been trying to find a reliable car service in Brooklyn, (ever since Pratt failed me multiple times in one appointment - and lost me forever) so I tried Jupiter the other week from Clinton Hill to LGA. The driver was on time, helped me with my luggage, drove responsibly, and got me to LGA on time, no complaints. I used to live in Gowanus and searched for the closest car service at the time and Jupiter came up on Yelp. The reviews seemed great so I gave them a chance. I have NEVER used another car service or rideshare to go tot he airport again and it's been over 4 years. They are always on time for pick up. The cars are clean and the drivers are friendly (also not too talkative which is helpful for early morning travels). The price is excellent and consistent. I couldn't ask for more! read more

I was excited when a new car service opened around the corner from my apartment. I was also cautious as I've had mixed experiences with car services. My inlaws were coming in and needed a car from LaGuardia. My husband called and made a reservation and the female owner could not have been nicer. He even received a text message confirmation. Unfortunately, my inlaws missed their early morning flight and were now coming in the evening. My husband called to cancel. They were completely understanding and told my husband to call and reschedule whenever he was ready with the flight info, which we did. Jupiter monitored my inlaws' flight and sent my husband a text and called when it was delayed an hour. The driver was 35 minutes early and when my inlaws were having difficulty telling us where they were, the driver found them. We used Jupiter again to take my inlaws back to the airport. The driver sent a text letting us know he had arrived and we could come down whenever we were ready. The driver helped with our bags and didn't rush us while we were saying our goodbyes. Everyone was emotional because goodbyes stink. As the driver closed the trunk and was heading to his seat, he turned to my husband and said "Don't worry, I'll get them there safe." After dropping my car off at Meineke, I walked over to Jupiter to get a cab home. A driver was available immediately and I felt safe during the ride. When his phone rang, he hit ignore, which I thought was very nice. A lot of drivers will have phone conversations using Bluetooth and, while I don't generally have a problem with this, it was nice not having to listen to one side of a conversation. The volume of the radio was loud enough that I could hear and enjoy the music, but not so loud that it was bothersome. The price of my ride was great; Jupiter charged me a few dollars less than other cab services in the immediate vicinity. Four stars instead of five because of the route the driver chose. It wasn't a huge deal, but the way he took was slower than the one I usually take (more traffic, stop lights, etc.). I'd definitely use Jupiter again. read more

My first review. I use yelp all the time so it's time I actually share. I don't often have to use car service, but Jupiter is now at the top of the list. Use to call castle and have a favorite driver there, but a few bum rides led me to Jupiter. Clear on the phone, quick to my doorstep, clean cars and a safe ride. Nice music on the radio but I'd feel comfortable telling them to change it if they start playing something not appealing. Minus one star for that driver a couple months ago who went 80mph on the BQE. read more

However when it came around time for my pick up, the guy arrives 10 mins early - fantastic - except he park 3 long blocks away waits 15 mins and leaves without even informing me! We relied on a competitor car service on our last day of New York to take us to the airport - they let us down (didn't have a car avail). We panicked, didn't want to catch a cab and couldn't take the subway. What other choices did we have?!? After we calmed ourselves down, and thanks to Yelp, we stumbled upon Jupiter. So quick as a flash, we called and made a reservation to go to JFK airport from Manhattan on the same day. The phone conversation was flawless, they were keen as mustard with taking our booking, giving an exact quote including toll. This was a great impression and paved the way with service equal to their phone manner (quick, efficient, relaxing). The driver texted us when he arrived (on time - punctuality is a great trait!) and did not try to hustle us for extra money (yet another great trait!). We were simply happy to tip. After three disappointing car rides with Arecibo (didn't take my cc, lost reservation, late) I tried Jupiter. Made a reservation the night before for a 7am pick up. Driver was on time, texted to let me know he was there and was friendly. Car was clean and the drive was pleasant. $38 from South Slope to JFK. Accepted credit card. Quick, convenient and more fairly priced than most car services I've used in Brooklyn. The drivers are generally professional and willing to take whatever route is suggested. Only thing: Whenever you ask "How long?" they typically say "5 minutes" and that is often not the case, so plan accordingly- more like 10-15. read more

Incredibly hard to find a car good service in Brooklyn, in my experience. Lyft is great but for airport trips, transporting seniors to airports ;), I like to plan well ahead. Jupiter has for several years been my go-to. Always prompt, good drivers, good communication pre- and post-trip, and some women drivers, which I think is great. read more

Terrible service. I had to go to an appointment on a Tuesday afternoon. I called for a car and they said it would be 10 minutes. I waited for 20 minutes and then called them. They were still trying to find a driver which would take some time. They didn't bother to call and let me know. I cancelled the car since there was no way to know when a car would ever show up. I didn't have time to look for another car service, call them and wait for a car to get there so I ended up missing my very important appointment. Who knows how long I would have been waiting if I hadn't called them. I will never use them again. read more

Like earlier reviewers, I also live in South Slope, and on a recent Sunday night was getting a busy signal from Arecibo. I decided to try Jupiter based on positive Yelp reviews. My call went through on the first try, and I was told the car would be there in 5 minutes. Thirty minutes of standing on the curb later, no car had come, and my multiple return calls to inquire about the status of my car weren't being answered. Finally, at about the 35 minute mark, someone called me back and said the car was on its way. By that point, I had moved two blocks down the street to try to hail a cab. I asked for the car to meet me at the new location. After the dispatcher said yes, she quickly hung up on me. The car arrived 5 minutes later and delivered me to my destination. This waiting, and the lack of clear communication, is enough to convince me that Jupiter doesn't deserve my business. One thing all you Arecibo-haters should know though...look at the TLC decal in the backseat window, and you just might see that at least some of Jupiter's cars are operated by...you guessed it! No wonder Uber and Lyft after putting places like this out of business. I used them only because they confirmed they had the proper car seats. Our pickup was late, which was not a big deal at the time, but his explanation was that he had just received the request from Jupiter minutes before. On our return I called Jupiter as we landed at JFK, as I was instructed when I made the reservation. The dispatcher said I would receive a call in a few. 20 minutes later I called back and asked a status. It was at this point that things turned bad. After being put on an extended hold I was told that it would be 12 minutes. As I inquired a bit more I realized they didn't have a car ready or available. Getting annoyed at the dispatcher, I was told that this is how car services work, and to "calm down, on my God what is the big deal". The dispatcher was beyond rude for no reason. 5 star because they don't charge $130 for a rear facing car seat from jfk to queens. Also they were responsive and punctual.

I am super impressed with their service. I have used them for 3 airport pickups so far and they are always on time and drivers are super friendly. The cost to Laguardia is about 33 and JFK is about 38. (from Brooklyn). They have an online booking service that works well. I highly recommend giving them a try. read more

I was very impressed by my experience with Jupiter. After hanging out with a friend in Bay Ridge, we decided it would be a little too stressful to chance the trains due to the hour. We tried to get an uber first, but they wanted almost $40 to go to Mill Basin (you've never heard of it; yes, it's far). But still that's extremely unreasonable. And on top of that the wait would've been upwards of 30mins. Cue Jupiter, who was willing to take the trip for about $20. The dispatcher was very polite and agreed to let me pay with a card. The driver arrived around 10 minutes later. The car was spacious and well-kept and the driver was pretty funny. He even offered to drop my friend nearby so she wouldn't have to walk at no additional charge. What I really appreciated though was that he didn't try to alter the quoted price once we reached the destination. Value for money for car service! :) The booking process was a breeze - I did it all online and chose the cash option. I got a mail and text that night for my booking the next day. In the morning, I got a call from the driver who was already outside my front door 10 minutes before my pickup time. He had no problem waiting as we hustled 4 of our baggages into the car and also helped us loading them. I'm glad I picked this service after checking Yelp. Hired the Car Service to go to Newark airport from Brooklyn on a weekday; they were on-time (although the driver did call because he couldn't see the front door of my house :s ), got me there no trouble. Telephone service is good if you call during daytime, night time they wont answer the phone unless you call several times and stay at it for several min. We requested a spanish speaking driver and we got one which was awesome. Biggest plus: their rates are super cheap and the cars are nice. read more

DO NOT EVER USE! They are late, they don't give refunds and they lie! My flight left at 9:00. I paid in advance and reserved 3 days prior for them to pick me up from Suffren to LGA (Ober $130 date) It was scheduled for 6:30am. It is 7:15 and I'm just not in the guys car. They told me they would not refund for an Uber, they would not refund for my missed flight. And whenever I called they said he was "5min" away. These people are my saviors! Sometimes you have to call a few times on a busy night to get an operator, but once you do, I swear they are at my house within 5 minutes of the time I requested. FAIR pricing, accepts credit cards, and will take you anywhere! Think $20 to get from South Slope to Williamsburg, which would cost likely $30/$35 depending on traffic in a regular metered cab. Jupiter is a horror. I should have seen it coming. I have used them for years wanting to avoid Uber and Lyft. Their service has been deteriorating for quite awhile , with late arrivals and uneven pricing. I ordered a car for an urgent appointment with pick up this morning. When the car was 10 minutes late I called and learned that the car was sent to the wrong address, nowhere near where I live. I asked if there was anything that they could do or was I just screwed and she (dispatcher) said yes you're screwed. Avoid at all costs. read more

I always use uber never car service but for airport runs it's cheaper. 10am pickup he arrived at 935a and called me to let me know he had arrived but didn't rush me to leave early. My wife told me to book with Jupiter from the airport because she's used them in the past. I booked a car online around 11am that day for a 5 pm pick up. I called them when I got off the plane to confirm. They said they were 10 minutes away (that was at 5:02pm). I waited until 5:30 and didn't receive a call until 5:40pm. By that time I had already gotten into a yellow cab. I can understand being late, but not to call your customer when you're 40 minutes late is rude. The driver did apologize, but it was very irritating to have been left hanging. With all the choices for rides in NYC you've got to be better than this. read more
