Left my outfit about a week earlier for which I prepaid, came early on the day of travel Wednesday since I was told to pick up Tuesday 5/20/26. No outfit, machines to clean had stopped working over the weekend. No one called me, messaged me to pick up. No outfit clean or dirty as they are sent out. All I got was sorry we can't predict why the cleaning machines failed. One of the most infuriating experiences, I came later in the day after calling to confirm - I called two of their stores as instructed. In a mad rush to park, not miss my flight that evening. Giant scrape to the car bumper, repair is on the order of $2-3k based off quotes all for some freaking dry cleaning and a rush I did not expect nor co-signed. I came in and requested help with 2 sweaters from the seamstress. I paid for half in cash and was provided a date they'd be completed. I came in about 2 weeks past the date they were expected to be completed and was told they weren't even started. I was told to come back in a few days. Frustrating, but I understand things happen. I came back and was told again that they weren't completed and other orders were prioritized ahead of mine for rush delivery/repeat customers. I was told they'd be ready tomorrow morning. Now I feel like my kindness is being taken advantage of. Update to add: I was able to pick up on 4/25, finally. The pricing and quality of my dry cleaning was great but the seamstress was a bit peculiar. She insisted I try the dress on and then asked me how much I was willing to pay to have my dress hemmed because the stitching was difficult. She chalked up my dress and said she didn't want me to leave since she already did that work. I just asked that she give me her price since I needed a quick turn around. The dress was not pressed afterwards either and had to go somewhere else to do that. I'd recommend Oak Park for dry cleaning but not necessarily for alterations. They are very careful about reading the wash care labels and will treat your clothes accordingly. I greatly appreciated how they wrapped the vintage buttons on one of my jackets with some foil to prevent any kind of damage during the cleaning. This attention to detail is something I sincerely appreciate. Their prices are reasonable too compared to other cleaners I've tried in the city. I was a regular customer at Oak Park Cleaners for 9 years, but a recent change in ownership has caused quality and customer service to significantly decline. With my last order, they misplaced one of my shirts and discolored another expensive one, which is now unwearable. I needed these for an important business trip the next day, which forced me to rush to a store to buy replacements. Their response over the next 3 weeks was incredibly frustrating. Employees told me only the manager could issue a refund, but they were vague about his schedule. After multiple calls and visits, they finally located the lost shirt weeks later, but I could still not get into contact with the manager. They told me a specific time the manager would be in. I showed up, but he wasn't there. Staff told me he'd arrive in 30 minutes. I waited nearby and returned on time, but was told I 'just missed him.' The staff then also tried to claim the shirt was already that color when I brought it in--despite my photo proof to the contrary. They gave me the manager's direct line but he didn't pick up. I left a message and still no callback. Very unprofessional and not worth your business. read more

I told her to let them go first but she said she needs to do mine first since it was already typed on the register. I guess she didnt want to pull it up again? So I just finishing paying and left because I did not want others to wait. And you mentioned that you never said anything about not being able to remove old stains, you just said some garments its better not to if its not that visible. Anyways I understand that some stains you cant remove. Its just that I dont know why I have to pay for shirts with stains left. Also this is not the first time. Everytime I come here I have to come back one or two more times because they missed a spot. Even today, when I went to pick up my final item from here, my dress still had dirt on the bottom. I actually didn't use the service but had a very pleasant experience. I brought in a thick winter Northface jacket that was fluffy on the outside. It was an expensive jacket so I wanted to be safe and wash it at the shop, terrified of messing up the fluffy exterior if I wash it myself. The lady was extremely kind and read the washing instructions line by line with me, and at the end recommended me to wash it myself to save money. She even suggested me to zip all the zippers and put it in a mesh bag to safely wash it. Even though I didn't use their service this time, it is so refreshing to see honest and kind people like her. (Ellen I think her name was) was really nice and offered to do it same day for me. I think it came to around $20 which for the same day wasn't bad. Prices are somewhat high relative to other places I've been for dry cleaning, but I guess there's nothing you can do during times of inflation. Welp. I gave them another shot because of the owner's response - and because I really like the lady that does the alterations - they are always perfect. But they just can't get the cleaning part right. After stressing over and over "no starch" - and pointing it out in my previous review - I just put on a shirt that feels like it's made of plastic...they not only starched it, but heavily so. I have a newborn and I don't want her exposed to the starch when I hold her, so now I'm going to have to wash this shirt several times. And find a new cleaners. Just too many screw ups. read more
