On my first visit the salesman was extremely helpful in taking me to the boats I had found on their website and wanted to see. He pointed out things wrong with two of the boats. One boat had some severe scape marks along a corner weld that I could not see from the photos. He advised me to keep looking and keep checking their inventory as it is updated daily, if needed, and usually they had additions to their pre-owned inventory weekly. But after two months of checking I'm not seeing much new inventory. On one of those two boats we opened the bow storage compartments and the stench of cat urine was overwhelming. The sales person said there was a family of cats living in it. Combined with a nasty scrape on the hull's corner weld the salesman said the boat would probably never sell. However, it did sell about a month later. I wanted to buy that boat and I was going to suggest they rip out the carpet to get rid of the smell. But I was too late, I guess. They should have offered to do it the day I was there looking at the boat. But really; how hard would it have been to fix that before we ever looked at the boat? I did a "Request Info" from their website for the towing weight of one of the used boats for sale from their pre-owned inventory. They did not answer my question, only invited me to come in to the showroom. Since it is an hour drive for me that was not an option to get the answer to my one question. I've since given up trying to purchase a boat. I'll just continue to rent them. read more

We visited Just Add Water a couple times as during covid they were open first- we would have much rather purchased from another in Cincinnati but while out of town for a funeral the Yamaha model we wanted sold out everywhere but Just Add Water- we reluctantly bought from them keeping our eye on the prize- when we took the boat out for a trial spin with salesman and brought it home only to find an empty tank and the wake board accessories we're not installed by the dealer either. So we had to do all of that the following days. Also upon closer inspection we found a small tear in the bow of our boat. Now days later still have not heard back from any of the guys at the dealership that we contacted by phone text and also email. Let me start by saying that I don't like leaving bad reviews. I have tried to avoid this and have spent almost two years giving them a chance to make things right with no resolution. We bought a boat at the boat show from JAWB in 2022. We looked around and found a lot of boats in the same price range that met our needs but chose them because of convenience and what I thought was a good reputation. Our salesperson was knowledgeable and they were able to get us a boat within the timeframe we wanted. It wasn't the most expensive boat but still more than the first house I bought, so it was a major purchase for us. Everything went smoothly until we took delivery of the boat. We were supposed to have a gate and surround on our boat that wasn't provided by the factory. The service manager said they would get with the manufacturer and make sure it got corrected. They took the boat back and added the gate and surround and then returned it to us. Everything to this point was excellent other than inconvenience and time lost on the lake. I immediately tested the back gate and it broke the first time I tried to close it. They left the old gate installed and installed the new surround up to the old gate. The rubber piece that is supposed to hold the gate when driving immediately pulled out of the deck and allows the gate to swing and bang around. The traffic pattern is dangerous as you get tripped up trying to get through the 2 gates that are right next to each other. I showed the kid who delivered the boat but he said we needed to call the service department. I then went to put the cover on and found it doesn't work correctly as it was made for the other configuration and doesn't snap closed correctly. I called and talked with the service manager and he said he would send someone out to look at it. Then nothing. I called back. We had fallen through the cracks and the service manager said he wanted me to take pictures and he wanted me to upload them to a portal that he was going to send me. Nothing was sent so I called back. Every time I called after that I asked for the service person I had spoken to (I was told it was the service manager) and was put into voicemail with no return call. I don't know what else to do as it doesn't seem like we'll ever get resolution with them. This purchase was something we were very excited about and we enjoy the time on the water, but every time we get on the boat we have to try to navigate the maze and then use a bungee cord to keep it from banging around while on the water. If you're looking for a boat, I'd recommend NOT buying from JAWB. read more

I just bought a pre-owned boat from Just Add Water Boats in Indianapolis and the experience couldn't have been any better. The staff there is amazing. JB, the owner is hands on and there to answer any questions. His door is always open. My salesman, Troy was a super great guy. Not pushy at all and very honest. In fact, he found a discrepancy on some paperwork for the reported hours on the motor of a boat I was looking at. He brought it to JB's attention and not only did they steer me away from that boat, but JB immediately had it taken it off the sales floor saying he would not sell that boat to any customer. I thought that was really impressive. Shows their high level of integrity. Most salesmen just want to sell you something. I felt like Troy and JB were really there to help me find the right boat for me. And it didn't stop there.... it just felt like the entire staff was there to make purchasing my boat a great experience. From Sydney at reception, to Steve in finance, Rowdy in parts and Joe, Ryan & Kyle in service, everyone just went that extra mile to make sure I got the right boat at a fair price. This is the worst boat dealer in terms of parts and service. If you need something ordered, order it offline. The staff is not attentive and does not follow up, even for customers who have purchased brand new boats. They simply don't have the resources or care! Need a call back, an update on parts coming in - don't make me laugh. Could you imagine driving there and getting the same answer in person and wasting all your time - why not call right? No, they either won't answer the phone or will give you some bs answer about its not in yet and they'll call but they never do. I have been told on a couple follow ups that "they're too busy to talk to me right now and need to call back" just to continue the conversation of ordering some simple parts!! I would be extremely careful if you are planning on buying a used boat from them. We saw a few that had holes, scratches or damage on the hull of the boat. The salesman was nice but, there was never oh is there we can fix that before you buy it. They will just sell you anything without a care. I recommended a boat to my husband that "Just Add Water Boats" had listed on Boat Trader. Although it was a bank repo, it appeared to be in good condition and ran well during our pre-purchase evaluation. My husband's only real concerns with this boat were about proper winterization. Our sales person Troy, assured us that it had been properly winterized by the dealership. When we got the boat home, we learned the engine had a cracked block. After discussions with Troy and the dealership manager the only recourse offered by the dealer was to "glue" the cracks with Marine Tex. We consider this option completely unacceptable. Zero Integrity, Dishonest and Horrible Customer Service pretty much summarizes by experience with Just Add Water. I went in yesterday by appointment as i was instructed was required during the IN Covid Shutdown. Looked at a camper and wound up at a number slightly higher than my wife and I were initially thinking. I asked if we could put down a deposit to hold the camper while we went home and talked about it that night as per their policy and was told specifically by Matt that it wasn't necessary and that nobody was looking at it for 2 days and to call or text in the morning. So the next morning (less than an hour after they opened) I text Matt and told him my wife and I had decided to pull the trigger and could be there today only to find out he didn't know if he could sell it to me and that another salesman had to tell him because they showed it to a random person who walked off the street which I was specifically told wasn't allowed during the Covid situation and that showings were by appointment only. He told me at 9:57 he had to see if it was available. I reached back out repeatedly from 10:00 through 1:16 when we were finally told somebody else put down a deposit and we were out of luck. Not so much as a call or a heads up. Then if that wasn't bad enough Matt tried to sell me a different camper that was 7' shorter, had no slides and was no where close to the same specs as the camper we wanted to buy. Overall a terrible experience. One that reminds me to rarely take a salesman's word and one that will likely ensure I'll never be back to Just Add Water again. read more

Just purchased a 2013 used boat from Just Add Water of Indianapolis and I must say that I would never purchase or recommend any water craft from this business. I work at a auto dealership and understand the importance of customer service and how it can create new customers and retain current customers. I paid $42,000.00 for my boat and felt like the salesman did not care because he may not make as much commission as with a new boat. Once I made the decision we wanted this boat he said he needed a week to prep for our pick up and finalize sale. The boat had 75 hours on the engine and there was stuff we agreed on that needed fixing. (radio, center window catch, seat grommet, etc.) The next weekend my wife and I returned to pick up our boat and discovered they just stuck a rubber bumper for the center window. Factory part is a magnetic catch that will hold the window in the open position while operating the boat. They also failed to replace the seat grommet. When I confronted the salesman about these issues he said I never said anything about the seat grommet and he would order and replace the window catch with the proper part. I said I would bring the boat back when the new radio is in to have the catch installed at that time. I had to order my own part and install it myself because they never ordered the part. I also never got reimbursed for my purchase of the part. When leaving with our new boat we noticed that only a couple side lights were working on the trailer. My wife wasn't too happy to sit in the truck for 1 1/2 hours while they fixed the trailer lights that should of been checked and repaired during the week prior to pickup. The final "icing on the cake" was when I was prepping the boat for its maiden voyage, I checked the oil and gas and noticed the tank was empty and the oil was black as night. They did not even give the engine a basic service. I hope my write up helps someone else in deciding on their next watercraft purchase. Would give these guys 0 Stars for Service if at all possible. Purchased a boat from them two weeks ago and all the photos on the internet showed the boats with a cover (torn but still possibly usable). When we were ready to leave with the boat I asked about it and the salesman tells us that they got rid of it but he would get me a new one. When inspecting the boat we discovered one tail light wasn't working on the trailer and that the prop was I bad shape. We ordered a new prop and the salesman told us no problem call me we will schedule the service work and the custom fitting appointment for the top. My wife did "EXACTLY" what they said to do....she drove the boat back up to them on Monday morning and they said and I quote "The boat will be ready Thursday afternoon or Friday midday". Well we waited until this evening to call and thought we would pick it up first thing in the AM. When we called and spoke with the Service Department "Rowdy" was perhaps as rude as anyone has ever been to me. I would not hire this person to work for one of my dealerships if my life depended on it. He treated me as if I was a liar and not worth his time. First he told me the boat wouldn't be ready Saturday and that they did not have a prop for it even though it was suppose to be ordered two weeks ago. Well then mysteriously as if a Unicorn landed a prop on their building they had a prop and maybe he could have it done Saturday but "I'm not making you any promises, bud". Well here I sit, no boat, it is Father's Day weekend, my kids and my family are suppose to be on the lake all weekend and they could give two shakes because why....they have their money so screw us! Unbelievable....to add insult to injury this guy in the Service Department raises his voice at me and tells me that the Salesman doesn't work in his department and he doesn't really care what he told us....So Happy Father's Day to me.....I should have listened to my guy and bout the boat at The Boat Place on US 36 East of Rockville....they at least do what is right by there customers.....Buyer Beware!!!! read more
