It just feels like he is wanting to publicly look like he is addressing the situation properly. I did end up reaching out again today, per his request, and Elena Aleteanu, the other owner, has not changed her stance. She is telling me that they can't do anything on their end and that I need to reach out to Square. Square is telling me that they can't do anything on their end and that the business needs to initiate the refund. So, I reached out to Ronald again directly, and he did not respond. In addition, he got my Google review deleted and is trying to get this one deleted as well, but thankfully Yelp is a lot better about keeping honest reviews. I also forgot to note that the service was booked for two hours total, as a side by side massage. Elena tried to SCAM my sister and her partner by offering each a 1 hour service, one at a time (because of being understaffed), even though it is a two hour service. I paid $400 for the massages, so she's was trying to tell my sister that each service (which included a full massage and facial) of $200 was for one hour only, which is a lie. ORIGINAL POST: AVOID California Skin Care & Day Spa in Newark I prepaid for a service (it was a gift), received a confirmation reminder the day before, and made arrangements for my sister and her partner who are visiting from out of town. I even paid for an Uber to get them there. They arrived on time and the place was closed. No staff, no setup, nothing. They waited about 40 minutes, while I tried calling and messaging every available number. Eventually Ronald Aleteanu, one of the owners, responded on WhatsApp , but that did not change the situation and the service still was not provided. Between the Uber and waiting, this ended up wasting about 2 hours of their time (& money for the Uber), and they left with nothing. After all of that, Elena Aleteanu (who eventually came) claimed she had called and left a message (and at one point claimed that she talked to someone - a complete lie). I never received any call or voicemail, and I confirmed that the number I entered was correct. Their explanation just does not add up, especially since they had no problem sending a reminder the day before. What is most frustrating is that they still refused to issue a refund for a service they never provided. Instead, they only offered store credit, which is completely unreasonable. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. I also posted this on NextDoor and numerous people replied noting that the same thing happened to them. So this is not an isolated incident. Extremely Disappointed - Poor Service, Lack of Accountability, and Questionable Practices…read moreI'm not usually one to leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience with Arrive Med Spa. I've been receiving Botox for years and typically need only 30-35 units for my face (forehead, eyes, etc.). I had 79 units banked at Arrive, and because they're closing for renovations in December, I was strongly encouraged to use all remaining units in one visit -- even though I expressed that I never need that much. Trusting their expertise, I went along with their recommendation. To my disappointment, all 79 units were injected, yet entire areas were completely missed, including the right side of my forehead and part of the left. The result was lopsided and underwhelming -- I still had visible forehead movement, which should not have been the case with that dosage. When I returned to have their mistake corrected, I was told I had to pay for half of the additional units needed to fix it. I ended up paying nearly $1,000 total -- for something that usually costs me $300-$400 -- and still had to cover part of the correction for an error I did not cause. I pleaded my case to Jackie, hoping for some accountability, but she wasn't convinced they had done anything wrong. I was told management reviewed it and stood by the decision that I should still pay for part of the follow-up. What's more concerning is that, unlike most reputable med spas, Arrive rarely shows you the product being used before injection. You never see the vial or how it's being prepared. At other places I've been, they always show the Botox label and draw it up in front of you -- a simple but important step that builds trust. At Arrive, that transparency is missing, and it left me wondering whether I even received authentic Botox. I trusted this business with my care and feel completely let down -- not just by the poor administration of the Botox, but by the lack of transparency and unwillingness to take responsibility for a clear mistake. I deeply regret pre-purchasing units, and I highly doubt I will return. I wouldn't recommend this place based on my experience. Be cautious. Ask to see the product. Question recommendations that deviate from your norm. And don't assume that pre-purchasing units guarantees a good experience -- in my case, it cost me more in money, trust, and time.

I finally worked up the courage to step into Raj's salon based on the reviews I read. I waited for Raj to finish her client, I asked for a simple clean up and let her know my left brow is always raised higher than my right one, hoping she can find a way to keep them even. She was so fast, quick and painless, and made my brows look more balanced. I will definitely be coming back. She reassured me that everyone in the salon can do similar work but given my level of anxiety around this I probably wouldn't pick anyone else except her!

I went in for a Brazilian almost 2 months ago, and it was definitely the worse and most painful I've ever had. I've been on the Brazilian bandwagon for over 6 years, and never realized how good I had it with my last two ladies, until I came here. Dolly has absolutely NO technique, and repeatedly spread wax over areas she had already gone over. Seeing as my lady parts are already sensitive after the first application, you can only imagine how painful it is to have hot wax reapplied over and over to the same area. On top of that, Dolly DOUBLE-DIPS, or more accurately, uses the same stick for the entire service. Not only is this against state-board regulations, but it is completely unsanitary. Take a minute to think about this... Think about the fact that there was another client, on that same table, getting the same service as you...yep, pretty nasty. I am a part of the beauty industry, so I am familiar with State Board regulations, and I just have to say, if they ever were to pay her a visit, she'd definitely get fined up the wazoo. And to add insult to injury, I had a bunch of stray hairs left over. With all the reapplication she was doing, you'd think I'd be completely bare down there! I left, paid, and even gave what I call a "Good Riddance" tip. Sorry, I'm not sorry to my fellow Yelpers who definitely led me astray on this one. If I could give her negative stars, well...you get the gist.
