Grabbed a chicken Caesar wrap from Legend Deli today for my lunch back in the office. Pickup only took about 20 minutes! When I went in, it was crowded in there with people who are on a business trip. I was able to go around the line and get my pickup order from beside the register which is great! I've been in here a couple times for various reasons and staff is always super nice. I love how they write funny things on the bag! UPDATE 10/13/25 after my experience last Friday I decided to come back here while doing business downtown. Once again, I was warmly greeted by their staff. Today, the background music was a side of Zoso, not too loud. This time I ordered the Reuben Bagel. It's corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss, fried egg, and "Ukrainian" dressing on an everything bagel. On my last visit I enjoyed their toasted sourdough so much that I substituted. At first I was a little unsure of this sandwich because I've never had an egg on a Reuben. Well, DO IT! The Ukrainian Sauce is their own version of Russian dressing. It has a tiny bit more tang than a regular Russian dressing. But the sauce also contains a nice little surprises in the flavor of a little heat. It creeps slowly up on the tongue until it reaches a nice plateau. At that point it stays right there, a nice compliment to the other flavors. I liked it so much I ordered a side of the Russian and dipped the second half of my sandwich in it. The owner/chef was in the house and was welcoming and told us a little about his history in the food business. My wife ordered the Reuben Bagel which was fantastic. It was served hot and cheese was melted how it should be. The Jabroni (hot tavern ham, hot sopressata, Genoa salami, whipped ricotta, tomato, red onion, hot pepper relish, "shretruce", house vinaigrette on a hoagie roll) was great! My niece, grandniece and I wanted to grab a snack for our tour of Ft Sumter. Legends was on the way to the pick up point for the ferry to Ft Sumter and had good reviews. I got the Jabroni (Italian meats on a hoagie roll). The sandwich was packed with goodies, and was the perfect meal to tide me over. The roll held up well vs the dressing, and the sandwich could feed two normal people. I didn't go inside, but my niece said the staff was nice, and the service was quick. She also said its small inside. Like most places in DT Charleston, there was a dearth of parking. I had to park around the corner, and pick my niece & grandniece up after the food was ready. I ordered and it was delivered within 30 min. Quick service and awesome note on the bag. I am typically not a fan of cold sandwiches, which means I like my protein heated. Cold meals aren't my favorite, but I decided to try the GOAT + bacon due to raving reviews with Voodoo chips. It was the BEST sandwich I have ever had. Every bit was delicious. The food came out in under 10 minutes. I split The G.O.A.T. and their vegetarian sandwich, Sweet Baby Jesus, with the fiancé, and I have no notes on the G.O.A.T. It was perfect. Perfectly toasted bread, lots of turkey, delicious goat cheese (and not too much), onion jam. 10/10. They put this roasted red pepper mayo on it, which I never would have thought up in my wildest dreams, and it majorly delivered. Please order this. Charleston has a notorious lack of vegetarian sandwiches (the reason I started eating meat again), but the SBJ was very solid. I'm from Memphis, so I'm picky about bbq sauce and thought the Cheerwine bbq sauce was a little sweet for my taste (shocker I know). But I'm really blown away by the use of shredded sweet potato as a bbq sub - really great texture and cook on it. And once again, I believe the bun was toasted which is the absolute move. I thought the prices were steep for my wallet, but they do charge a 3% non-cash fee, so BRING CASH!! It's worth it. This unassuming little deli on George Street is cranking out sandwiches which take flavor to a new level. The vibe is casual and relaxed as you are greeted with broad smiles and friendly service. You can feel the pride the employees share. They have an absolute huge amount of drink choices and plenty of chips to choose from including my favorite, Zapp's Voodoo chips. First, we started with their appropriately titled G.O.A.T. This turkey sandwich is piled high with tender black pepper turkey with whipped goat cheese, onion jam, arugula and red pepper mayo on toasty sourdough bread. The sandwich was much larger than I expected, and the flavor profiles are phenomenal. It definitely earned its name! Our next sandwich was the Jabroni. This Italian sub truly delivers on taste and portion size! It has tavern ham, sopressata, genoa salami covered in whipped ricotta and topped with tomato, red onion, pepper relish, shredded lettuce and house vinaigrette on a hoagie roll. Adding the whipped ricotta was pure genius as the creamy cheesy texture pairs perfectly with the spicy meats! Italian grandmas would be proud! Next, we tied the Legend of Shai Le Boeuf. A play on a French dip with a generous portion of roast beef topped with red wine braised onions, creamy horseradish, arugula, and melty provolone cheese with a side of garlic au jus for dipping. It had to be one of the most falvorful french dips I have ever enjoyed. That garlic au jus is definately legend. We finally finished up with the Pretty Fly for a Ribeye their take on a cheesesteak sandwich. It has of course shaved ribeye with grilled onions, peppers, and the twist of pimento cheese on an Amoroso roll. The steak was plentiful and super tender requiring little to no chew. The melted pimento cheese was so ooey gooey it just melted in your mouth. I would definately rate it as one of my go to cheesesteaks.
