If they maintained the place better than probably a 5 because their base prices and resell prices are most competitive and worth it if you cannot find product elsewhere. They are cheaper than the surrounding competition but they are also not the most welcoming. Tough place to take kids because of the lack of organization, it's overwhelming for kids. For those looking for product and singles at good prices come here before the others. Parking is good if it's not crowded for an event. Staff is so-so, some good days some not so good days. Wide variety of product and cards, but that's pretty much the end of the positive side. The store is filled with mountains of trash and random product. I bought some vintage singles from here a while back and they turned out to be resealed; the pack just fell apart. And lastly I came in today to make some deals on some singles they had, I had offered to price them out with the owner and he just grabbed the tin, slammed it shut, and told me to go f myself. Starting off, this place is an absolute mess. It's not a professional looking business and that can take this place to the next level (if they wanted to). But honestly I think they're kind of fine with how it is. And if you can't get over the mess, don't come. I didn't care, and I had a good experience here. But every place has its pros and cons. I think the prices on cards and boxes are very fair, sometimes below msrp. They have more stock than you'd expect. I've been to more popular card shops across town and they sell everything a noticeable amount higher (ex: 6.99 booster packs vs $5 packs at TCG flip). I'll come back to this place for sure, for the availability and prices. Sure, customer service can improve to be more engaging. Before the review, I would like to preface that I have not returned to the storefront in years. This trend has been going on since the move from the old location to the current one at Story Road (As of 2024). The listed hours on their listed storefront does not correspond to the actual operational hours that the store should be experiencing. This in itself is already a poor sign of customer service because the lack of timeliness is a lack of respect for the customer. I can understand the occasional tardiness and excuse an occasional absence, but this has been going on for years. This would only be a minor inconvenience for some people, but punctuality is certainly optional at Just Flip TCG. This behavior is highly unprofessional especially for those that value their time highly. Parking and accessibility in the store is minimal considering that the store is tucked away in the automotive center part of the plaza, and the plaza is already not very spacious in terms of parking. When the events happened, especially for prerelease back when the store was still active, parking was really difficult to come by as everyone just swamps the store at once. Sometimes, two events happened simultaneously. In terms of events outside of the main store (when they occurred), the owners are always constantly away at conventions, with no staff or minimal staff at the storefront. I do not mind that the owners are away, but the people that ended up working at the storefront clearly appear to not care enough about the place to keep it in a condition conducive to customer care. This also overlaps with the stench of the store as for some weird reason, the store has a musty, humid scent when in tournaments (And it clearly shows in the store). The owners would regularly not use air conditioning in the heat of summer to keep the sweat away from the players, and this would compound and soak into the carpeted floors, unfortunately. The selection of the product was pretty amazing when the store was functional before the place turned into a frat den, at least for the cards that would be put onto display, There were a pretty large range of products from Magic: The Gathering to Pokémon, from Future Card Buddyfight (Before the game was cancelled) to Yu-Gi-Oh!, card storage and sleeves, Cardfight!! Vanguard, and Digimon products too. There were even plushies and Funko Pop characters. The variety was definitely the best part about the store at least back in the day. I am unsure about the variety today considering the store is pretty much known for being (one of) the most troubled locals in our region and therefore abandoned by the majority of the people that would have loved to see the store do well. The value of the store was underwhelming considering that the only positive light I had for the store was selection. These were often unfavorably priced towards the people that wanted to grab the product, but not all of the items were like that. Sleeves and playmats were competitively priced, but not everything was that well off. Certain old stock products end up becoming overpriced considering that the store was clearly hoarding product for the purpose of scalping or secondary market resale. The actual service when I was inside of the store was to be honest underwhelming and at best middle of the road. However, when you were not being tended to as a customer, there would be people that would end up doing pack wars and leave a huge mess of card packs. Now as much as I advocate the store to open up packs to sell in the card displays, there was too much of opening up packs for chase cards and not enough of sorting out and cleaning up the face of the store and getting the act together. read more

The store was dark with a single lamp on (no I'm not exaggerating) and he motioned for me to use my phone light to see around the shop. I honestly felt like they were closed, then another customer came. He had the same look I had and I told him to just leave. The place is massive yet hardly any room to walk comfortably. The sign on the door ALWAYS says "closed" when they're open. The customer service is equivalent to that of a teenage kid who gives their parents passive aggressive remarks, the parent being the customer in this analogy and the attitude being poor attentiveness. The single card selection in their glass counters was atrocious. I don't even have OCD and my skin was crawling from how sad these cards were just thrown around and stacked from the floor to ceiling. The floor is riddled with empty booster packs, and I mean RIDDLED (easily a few thousand or more) despite there being about 3 garbage cans within 2 feet reaching distance from each and every one of the guys inside (about 6 of them) Their supply is AMAZINGLY abundant but it's just an absolute mess. Like a hoarder's dream house. If they clean the place up, fix their staff, and make the place approachable even in the slightest from the outside, the place is definitely worthy of 5 stars. But until the 2 workers (God knows their names, I sure as hell never got them) can somehow find the time in their "busy" day to just answer the phone during their hours of operation, this place will remain 1 star at best. Side note: Don't sell your cards to these guys. They don't grade, they don't look at quality, they'll only buy at "market price." In other words, they're cheap. read more

Just Flip TCG Team, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience I had at your facility on Saturday, August 10, 2024. To say it was one of the worst experiences I've had with Just Flip TCG would be an understatement. This facility should not even be called a business, let alone a card store. The wait time was unbearably long just for the store to open, which was frustrating enough. What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of communication from your staff, particularly Bruce and another larger gentleman. There was no information provided about what was happening or when we could expect any service, which only added to the frustration. Given this experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend your services to anyone seeking a playable event, let alone merchant buying or selling. I sincerely hope you will take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements in service and communication for future customers--or consider dissolving your business altogether if these issues cannot be resolved. P.S. The fact that these individuals were eating Burger King and didn't even greet the customers was an insult since your establishment clearly states no outside food or drinks. read more

I went there with my brother, in hopes of finding some cards for the game we are trying to learn how to play. The cashier try to take advantage of us with pricing. I understand that this is a business, but to charge 50% more for a product is just ridiculous. Everything was extremely overpriced, and the cards I was looking for I literally had to search for since they didn't have it organized. The product was not sitting in sleeves, and was not being protected, when I asked for the call on the price, he gave me a quote that was more than what they sad they were quoting. They used tcgplayer, and the cards I was looking for were supposed to be 67 cents a piece, he quoted me a dollar per despite saying he was using TCGplayer to obtain his pricing. For one of the current sets, there was a box they can easily be found online for 40 to 45 dollars per, and he quoted me $75. I'm only giving a two-star, because my younger brother was able to actually still make a purchase, in that they had the cards that we could purchase. I would not recommend this business simply because I do not trust them taking care of the product they are trying to sell you. 1. They hiked up the prices, and 2. they were not even properly protected. When looking for the cards, they were literally underneath boxes, and mixed in with other card games. If you are going to sell cards at mint or near mint prices, they should be sleeves the instant they are opened. To top it all off, they considerably undervalued my cards. They offered to buy my cards for $15. I know the prices of the cards I was trading in, I then went to legends, and traded in the same set of three cards and got $40. When I say they were seriously trying to take advantage of my brother and i, I really mean it. I would not recommend doing business with them here. They're just an inherent lack of respect, and shady business practices. read more

Oh my gosh, this place is a pigsty. The person behind the counter, can't even walk around, the prices are crazy high, I don't know how they pull pricing but it's not anywhere near market price! Pricing: I was looking at a LP Rishadan Port.... Should be worth right around $50 according to the time of posting this (went in today), the shop wants $90 lol. I was taken back by the blatant gauging. Condition/cleanliness: This place I'd say needs to be shut down for a week and heavily clean, I mean heavily. There's stuff all over the floor, on the cases so you can't even see in, the guy behind the counter can't walk 5-10ft without tripping over stuff. The shelves are just crazy disorganized, the cases have cards just thrown in them randomly, like I said earlier, there's stuff all over the cases so you can't really see in them! I'm not going to get into the strange smells filling the place, no Fans going and no AC that I could see or hear, stuffy and smelly. Staff: staff was good I guess, although it did feel like he was trying to pull a fast one with all the prices he was giving me... I ended up buying a blood crypt, it was still $1 over TCG player NM market value but $1 isn't a horrible mark up on a $20 card, but the nearly 100% markup on the port is shameful! I don't understand how this place has business???? It was busy when I went in, maybe because it seems to be more of a Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh store. This place is one of the only place in San Jose where you play yugioh card, you would think they would use it as an opportunity and re model their place to be more friendly but no you have a very messy place with terrible sell price. One time I went in and sell "Destiny HERO - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer" and "Lord of the Heavenly Prison" keep in mind I was selling these right on the release day of the set which mean those two card combine would go for more than 100 dollars but apparently I was wrong because I only get 70 dollars back in store credit. Overall avoid this store at any cost unless you want to get some card immediately and don't want to wait for TCG player shipping. read more

We visited here today at SacAnime and we had THE BEST experience trading cards today. Thomas was so honest and nice. He was making sure we received a beyond fair trade... so my son could get his dream card. We were also helped by a younger gentleman in a yellow shirt and he was so helpful and kind. Visited to pick up some Pokémon booster packs and a deck box. The two guys in front were friendly, greeted me and gave me information that they were moving locations soon. Everything was in its place, but I guess it was just disorganized because of the move. Idk if the people playing games there or the store had a bad smell, I had to hold my breath to make it around the store. But if you want to find gold, you're gonna have to dig for it. There are mounds of dusty unorganized pop dolls ready for you to start your hunt. Huge selection of pops, but as others have mentioned, very unorganized and covered in a thick layer of dust that you can expect to get all over your hands if you decide to look through them. Even if you find a pop you're looking for, you'll find that every one of the boxes will have some kind of damage. Bring them up to the counter, and the worker will check eBay to price each of them out individually. You'll stand there and wait until they finally give you a price WAY ABOVE what a mint version of the pop is going for and let you know it's already considering the damage. Huge waste of everyone's time. If you're a serious collector, do yourself a favor and avoid this place altogether. read more

Terrible experience. The two twins / owners never really want to help. I came here last two times and each time I asked to see something they respond not right now. At one point, they said not right now they are cleaning up. Why open the store at that point if you cannot even help the customer buy something.. That leads me to my next point. This place is super messy and unorganized. There are cards on the ground behind the counter. Boxes are all over the place. The twins also do not wear masks in store which is a bit concerning considering how messy the place is. Because of all the boxes and mess. The place seems super tight. You have to walk sideways to really get through the aisles on the right with the funko and figurine. Overall I would not recommend this place. It is too messy/unorganized with no mask wearing as well as possible fire hazard, brothers do not want to help you with anything and are very unprofessional. Also never try to call them as they never pick up. Also they never open on the time they say. They open 30 minutes to an hour past their posted hours quite a few times. Their pricing is also way off of what is MSRP. I am not sure how they get their pricing. Avoid this place and save yourself the time and trouble. read more

I've been coming to Just Flip and their multiple locations, on and off, for around a decade and I will say that the place fallen into ruin due to 2 major factors. 1. The physical state of the store. The current location used to be an automotive garage and its DISGUSTING and unwelcoming to the eyes. Their previous locations were much better. The tables and floor are covered in dust & grime, cards and packaging are thrown everywhere, the bathroom is near un-useable, and the smell is awful. The stench is due to a combination of poor ventilation and hygiene of the clientele (its TCG players, poor hygiene is to be expected). 2. A lack of PROFESSIONALISM. Their inventory is cluttered and disorganized. They never pick up the phone. I've seen friends of the owners walk behind the show case and just grab anything they want at times during tournament time. This isn't a business. This is a hangout spot that happens to sell and buy things. Multiple times I've heard a select few of the clientele/regulars say awful things in conversation (what ever you can imagine, it was probably said here) as if it was a frat house for nerds that lack any sense of civility and decorum. I have no problem with the owners, but a select few of the regulars makes this place an extremely uninviting experience for both return and new customers. read more

Been here a total of three times. They have a great selection of card games card and plushy's. When you walk in the door there is like no greeting you basically stand there and look for what you what or wait and ask about stuff when it should be can I help you with anything. The inside is pretty cramped with tables for people to play card games so there really not lot of room to walk and stuff is piled on top of each other all over. Today I came here at 12:00pm and there where people waiting outside for the place to open which was 12 pm and the place did not open till 12:15 pm ,so there was a line at register when I walked in. I thought I found a place closer to my house for cards but it better to just take the little drive to Colman and get better customer service. read more

Best TCG shop in the bay. Excellent selection of Yugioh cards. Staff is extremely friendly and I have also met a good amount of new friends here. If you're interested in finding a cool place to hangout and play card games, this is the place! They also buy cards which is really cool. The store is messy, but their pokemon selection was amazing. I got a few cards at around Troll and Toad price range and they let me pick my card from the multiple copies they have on hand. I got there just in time for their shipment arrival as well. Overall this is your typical table top game store, so don't expect services to be top notch, but if you're looking for certain sealed products or single cards, this is the place to go in the south bay. read more
