Excellent dental practice. Dr. Prishkulnik and her staff are skillful, kind, and patient. They explain things clearly and are always happy to answer questions. Moreover, the office is run very efficiently. The administrative staff are consistently pleasant and communicate well. The environment is also very attractive and child-friendly. I gave a four-star review only because the wait time can be quite long, but otherwise, I have only good things to say about Just For Grins. read more

My family has been coming to this office for years, but ever since the practice changed ownership about a year ago the quality of care and customer service has declined significantly. Appointments are consistently running far behind schedule. On multiple occasions, I've had to wait over 30 minutes before my daughters were even called back. The customer service has also become very disappointing. The biggest issue, however, is the repeated last-minute cancellations. Three different times, I arrived at the office for my daughter's scheduled appointments only to be told that the doctor was not there and the appointments had to be canceled. There was no advance notice, which meant I wasted my time driving to the office, taking time away from work, and rearranging my schedule for nothing. After these repeated experiences, I've decided to transfer my daughters to another dental practice. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this office to other families. read more

They were so rude to my autistic daughter. They refused to explain what they were doing and when I asked them to give her a break they said no. They screamed at my daughter to open her mouth and then claimed that they had "tried every method" and refused further service. I will NEVER come here again and my daughter won't be able to trust a dentist for a long while. I do not recommend this dentist for anyone read more

This place traumatized my autistic child. They left bruises on her jaw from squeezing it with their hands. They placed a device in her mouth that prevented her from breathing. I wish I could leave zero stars. We are going to take our business elsewhere.DO NOT COME HERE! read more

Unfortunately we did not have a pleasant experience here... now I understand that going to the dentist isn't always gonna be fun, but you would think a pediatric dentist would at least be friendly. The male dentist did not make my 5 year old comfortable, he actually terrified her and myself honestly. Looks at her teeth and immediately talked about pulling a tooth and drilling.. making comments about other dentist not being able to see cavities that he sees, when I told him we were gonna get a second opinion. Odd thing to say, he actually said lots of odd things but I won't get into that. We ended up going somewhere that thought pulling and drilling the teeth was absolutely unnecessary and treated us with kindness and respect the way a dentistry should. My advice is follow your gut and always get a second opinion if you don't feel comfortable with what someone's telling you needs to be done. I'm speaking from my interaction with the male dentist, I can't speak for the other women dentist that works there.. The 2 stars are for front desk lady's, they were very sweet. read more

I took my son to Just for Grins, and what a rip off. They wanted to do root canals and cap my 6 year old son's teeth. After what our insurance covers they still wanted over $200 to fix 2 of his teeth, and they offer no kind of payment arrangements. Getting his xrays so we could get a second opinion was huge hassle. The second opinion we got was much more reasonable. Only fillings were needed, and our insurance covers that 100%. We will not be back to Just for Grins. read more

The dental hygienist was very rude and impatient with my daughter wouldn't let her father go back with her so she could treat her badly. I had to work otherwise I would have gone back with her and I know this person would not have treated my child like this. Worst service we have ever gotten usually have a good experience it was just this dental hygienist. read more

My children have been patients of Dr. Prishkulnick for 10+years. Whether it's been for routine check ups, restoration, or emergency care, we've always received the utmost professional services. Dr. Prishkulnick is very thorough and has a detailed eye. She goes above and beyond, especially when we had an emergency. I was so grateful to her and all who were involved for their compassion and eagerness to remediate the situation.We've also gotten to know and really appreciate Dr. Humberson. Experience my granddaughter received for a FILLING visit to this facility, was so extreme, that she will no longer receive care at this facility!! Her eyes were so puffy from crying & her upper lip was so swollen from being pricked constantly to numb her with the NEEDLE!! The Hygienist & Dentist who provided care on this day, seemed to work hurriedly without any concern for the child, just wanting to get the job done & move unto another patient. Her mother was asked to stand behind the Dentist while this was being done, who was & still in such disbelief. Treatment was so horrible, that it'll be a long while before my granddaughter will be able to regain trust, comfort & reassurance for her any future dental care. She too young to have gone through this situation & I hope the Dental Staff get more training on Comfort Measure on their young patients!! read more

This happened several years back and I have been meaning to write a review because I was really upset with their approach cavities. I don't understand this new approach of wanting to crown a cavity on a baby tooth!? I took my 5 year old daughter here and she had two cavities- that were very tiny. Dr Prishkulnik recommended that we take her to the hospital to sedate her for two cavities to have it all done at one time?! I had two cavities as a child and they would fill it- done- easy. What is going on in dentistry - unnecessary surgeries for children is not healthy! Pease, beware and do not crown your child's baby teeth- filling a cavity does work. I feel this is a racket and we are being taken advantage- especially the trauma involved in crowning! read more

If you have an entire day to spend at the Dentist's office then Just for grins is the place for you. On my first visit there 11/19/08, my wait to see the dentist was 2 1/2 hours. My second visit on 11/26/08 was over 1 hour and still no sign of the dentist. It would have been a bit easier to deal with the delay if the receptionist would let folks know they are running behind but don't count on that happening. On a good note, the hygienists were fabulous. The kids felt very comfortable with them. read more

Our dental visit went well, however, I voiced a concern about my daughters dental health and it was not addressed. I am disappointed that my concerns were not talked about with the dentist. I voiced my concern to the assistant and she told the dentist, but nothing mentioned. I am very disappointed with the office staff, as we were given a referral to another office who didn't take my daughters insurance. I called Just for Grins and was told I had to call around to make an appointment with an office that took her insurance. I knew I should not be the one making many calls to find an office, but I did. The office we found I had one option in Santa Fe and 2 in Albuquerque. I was not about to drive an hour and half (from where we live) to Albuquerque. I scheduled in Santa Fe only to find out from my daughter's dentist that this referral visit was invalid! So here I am scheduling a visit with a dentist Just for Grins referred us to again, let's see how this goes. I was not a happy parent after dental visit! read more

STAY AWAY! This pediatric dentistry is NOT customer oriented and is only interested in money, not the well being of children's teeth! They are "willing" to take xrays and "brush" your childs teeth in order to bill the insurance or rather the parents. Unfortunately, they are NOT willing to clean the child's teeth at the 6 month checkup unless the child has had a wellness check with a physician. My husband and I changed ownership of insurance policies on 1/1/15. My daughter's appointment was scheduled for 1/20/15. Unfortunately, our place of employment (National Laboratory) had not sent the file of policy owners to Delta Dental by this date. Just for Grins refused to bill the insurance and I had to pay everything out of pocket for this appointment. They finally billed the insurance in the February 2015 timeframe but did not issue me a refund check for the overpayment until July 2015. By this time, it was time for my daughter's 6 month check-up for a routine cleaning and they are refusing to see her unless I take her to a pediatric physician for a check-up. I am extremely disappointed with their priorities and am looking for dentists who actually want to practice dentistry! read more
