My family has been with dentistry for kids for over 16 years. We have always loved the practice and all of their workers. However, we came in today for an appointment and asked if we could get a toothbrush before my daughter's appointment. The young lady at the front desk told us that they don't give toothbrushes for the kind of appointment my daughter was here for. Was a bit taken back. By the answer as well as the way she said it. I felt like we were here for a free treatment that was donated not a valued paying customer/patient. I've had my children with Dentistry for kids since they took over in 2010. Never have I experienced such poor customer service as I have today. I was running a few minutes late due to extreme traffic and catching every red light. I called to let them know I was on my way. They advised me there was a 10 minute policy before a reschedule may be required. NEVER have I been late or missed an appointment. In fact, I've had to wait for an appointment anywhere from 10-25 minutes. Anyhow, I arrived 12 minutes late. 12 Minutes! 2 entire minutes passed the 10 minute limit and they refused to see my kiddos. Customer service was absolutely the worst I've ever experienced. There's no office manager on duty and the Dr did not come out to speak with me. I called the main office and spoke with a supervisor who explained that the Dr was just trying to get his day over with. Mind you I waited 6 months for this appointment. This place claims to be "for kids ". If hanging up some Star Wars decorations counts as being for kids then I guess this qualifies. We have been to both locations, and both times have been treated rudely by staff. At the southside office, the front desk staff was extremely rude. At the Saint Francis office, the front desk staff was very professional, but the hygienists that we had were miserable human beings. Didn't greet my kids at all, did not smile, were not even remotely friendly. Every single time my kids leave with mouths that are cut up from x-ray stuff that is shoved roughly in their mouths. My youngest daughter was crying because she was nervous, and the hygienist could not even bring herself to speak to her. Please don't claim to be "for kids", when you obviously don't know how to deal with children. The only positive thing I can say is that the actual dentists are at least friendly. Go elsewhere if you can! read more

My 4 year old daughter had a horrible experience at another dentist and was very scared to visit. They assured me they would explain everything o her and helped her nerves by speaking to her in a calm and soft manner. The place before had tied her down in a straight jacket...when I asked how they did things here they said they'd never force kids to do something without their permission. All-in-all, they took care of her cavity with ease and no screaming from my daughter. She gets excited now when she has an appointment here. This place is the BEST! If you have a kid please take them here. Everyone is so sweet and the dental hygienist was very patient with our son. He had a TERRIBLE experience at a dentist in Rio Rancho and is traumatized so we were weary of "kids dentists". I can't remember the dentist's name who saw our son but we met both, and they were very nice and knowledgeable. Bonus, the place is spotless and has tons of toys for your munchkin including an outdoor area so they can burn some energy. read more

These folks are wonderful! Great with kids, fun office, and really good at what they do. We have been patients for the last two years, and they went above and beyond to complete orthodontic treatment for my 9 year olds while we were moving out of the area, working with our limited schedule of when we could come back into town. Great Dental Office For Your Special Needs Family Member I have an autistic Son who is now 27 years of age physically. We've recently moved from California to the New Mexico area. Finding a dental office that can care for my son with regard to his special needs, I thought was going to be difficult. However, Dentistry for Kids was open to caring for my son's dental needs and they have done a wonderful job. The Dentist that assisted my son in office last week was caring and compassionate. My son left feeling edified with the respect he received in being treated like a normal person. Thank you for giving us a place to go for our dental care needs.
