(Dinner can also be ordered for an additional fee but again, king sized portions and so delicious! ) The Inn is located in Chatsworth, close to Fort Mountain and the cute town of Ellijay is on the other side of the mountain. There are so many outdoorsy places to visit near by, a long weekend is not nearly enough time to visit! We really enjoy our time visiting with Bill and Nicole and highly recommend a stay here!

I wasn't sure about our private bathroom being across the hall, but it was honestly great. Bathroom was very large & somehow also cozy [I think it was the warm heat coming out of the floorboard vents each time I stepped out of the shower lol]. Breakfast each morning was a 10/10! Bill is a boss in the kitchen. The homemade granola and lavender peach 2nd course were our two favorite things! If you plan to take it easy at the b&b one evening, go grab takeout brisket from Trinity in Dalton or truffle shiitake pizza from Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza and bring it back up the mountain. One of the best nights we had was eating pizza and playing giant Uno in the common room. [the giant Uno is in the basket to the left of the common room's fireplace!] Be sure to take a left when leaving the b&b so that you can see the INSANE views!! The road down the mountain to the left is SO beautiful! Things to Consider: -A more size inclusive option for the robe. My husband looked so cozy in his robe and I was disappointed that the size large was a bit too small for me. Having a few plus size robes on hand might be something to consider. Having a spot in the room's notebook that mentions larger robes are available upon request would help curvier guests feel that much more welcome & included :) -A way to text or send a message to Bill or Nicole when we have a quick question :) Thanks so much for having us Bill & Nicole! I have genuinely NEVER experienced anything like this at a golf course. We had six people and specifically booked two tee times with three people each. We called ahead, explained everything, and they knew our plan. Yet from the second we got to the first tee, one of the male employees stood there staring at us, questioning everything we were doing, and treating us like we were already a problem. He complained about our coolers, so we complied. Meanwhile, the group directly behind us had a cooler sitting completely out in the open and he said nothing to them. Then when I went to get drinks, this guy accused us of "plotting and scheming" and even started trying to tell me how to back up and turn a golf cart like I'm not a grown man who knows how to drive. Just unbelievably rude, annoying, and clearly looking for something to complain about. We then let two faster groups play through and had nobody waiting behind us. We weren't holding anyone up. Still, they messaged our carts telling us to split up. I took a photo of it because I thought it was so ridiculous and funny. These losers have nothing better to do but sit in the clubhouse and track our every move. Then another male employee drove out onto the course and immediately came at us with a terrible attitude before we had even said anything to him. We tried to be nice but he quickly made it a hostile argument. He threatened to LOCK OUR CARTS if we continued playing together and literally told us that a different course was where we "needed to be." This is what sent me over the edge. Then, instead of leaving, he stood there watching us tee off on the next hole. At that point it was honestly ridiculous. We paid $70 each to play golf, not to be followed around and treated like a group of criminals. I understand golf courses have rules. What I don't understand is the hostility, selective enforcement, smart comments, threats, staring us down, and treating paying customers like they're a problem from the second they arrive. And the course itself? Extremely mediocre for $70. Take away the mountain views and there is absolutely nothing special enough to justify that price. The woman up front and cart return guy were nice, but the two male employees completely ruined the experience. Awful customer service, overpriced mediocre golf, and easily the worst experience I've ever had at a golf course. Should've spent our $70 somewhere else. According to their own employee, that's where we "needed to be" anyway.

There are at least 8 lanes, maybe 10. The wooden targets were in good shape, the lanes included holders for the axes, and erase boards for scoring. There's a second room that had corn hole games but I didn't see any information regarding it. My group consisted of just myself and one other. There was no one else in the establishment while we were there on a Saturday evening. The guy manning the counter was friendly and took the time to show us a few different ways to throw the axe after we signed a waiver and read over the venue rules. An hour was a bit long for just two people to throw and our arms hurt a bit by the end but we had a good time. It cost $20 a person to throw for an hour which is a bit steep but was okay for an occasional splurge. I've since been to a place that charges $50 an hour for a lane with up to five people. If the price were closer to $15 a person I would be more likely to visit regularly when in town.

Cartecay River Experience has a really good tubing experience because they have several options for…read moreyou when you go to the first location for the business. You can sign up there (where the pizza shop is) to go on the regular lazy river or you can sign up to go on the "Extreme" river. If it's a weekend, you're definitely looking at a line, so plan ahead. They allow you to bring your own tubes and just pay the shuttle fee. That's fantastic! The extreme river experience is several miles up the road, which makes it a longer trip, but also puts you above a bunch of rapids. DO NOT TIE YOUR TUBES TOGETHER IF YOU ARE IN BIG GROUPS!!!! Two is OK, but more than that runs the risk of one of your tubes going the wrong direction and then tearing holes in your tube. There is NO ONE COMING. Your best bet, if your tube pops/rips/deflates is to just keep going down the river the best you can. We made the mistake of tying the 4 of us together....my mom and sister went down one side of the rapids while her boyfriend and I went down the other. There wasn't any choice in this- it was just where the current led our tubes. Since we were connected, the rope stopped us from passing through the rapids easily. We got stuck! My sister managed to get untied and floated on down. My mom had to get out of her tube. I got out of mine and had to help my mom and her boyfriend, and by the time I got to him, his tube was shredded open. I ended up giving him my tube and I just rolled across all the rocks on my way down the rest (more than half) of the river. It kinda sucked for me. I don't know if it's allowed or if it costs more, but you should ask for an extra tube if you're going thru any rapid sections. It may sound like my experience was terrible, but it was fun for everyone else. We brought our own tubes too- so we saved some money on rentals! If you're going on the "extreme" run, and you're renting tubes, you'll need to wait for the shuttle- which could take up to an hour and a half- depending on the lines. Bring water- stay hydrated. If you bring your own tubes, the only shuttle you'll be using is the one at the bottom of the run to bring you back to your car(s). If you plan on going tubing regularly- I highly recommend getting your own tubes. We were able to park, fill up our tubes, and get in the water in like 30min. Same thing for the return trip in the shuttle and packing up. The people are very nice and everything seems sets up with ease. I DO have to take a star away for the changing rooms. They only have 2 and they are AWFUL. I must recommend that you bring a changing pop-up tent with you. It'd be a much more hygienic option. Would I go back! Absolutely! It was fun! We learned a few things and our next trip on the Cartecay will be perfect! I guarantee that if you follow our tips, things will go swimmingly.

My horse came directly off the track to this facility. She was anxious as she just moved across the country and was in a new place. She was turned out in their quarantine lot that was a small but safe area with white vinyl fencing, and she was doing well all things considered. I had requested to one of the managers to please let her stay in the quarantine lot to decompress for a couple of days until I could get her feet done. I figured this would not turn into an issue as a typical quarantine period when bringing in new horses is at least 2 weeks, and this manager assured me she would make sure she stayed put. I also requested that I be included with introducing her to a pasture as she has never been turned out in a pasture before with wire fencing, which is all this property has besides 1 or 2 pastures that have different fencing. The next morning, not even 12 hours later, I received a phone call stating that my horse had been turned out with a herd, against my wishes, and had gone through multiple fences and sustained a large laceration to her leg. At the time, it appeared to be just a laceration which would heal with time. But a year later, I am still receiving veterinary care due to bone involvement and my horse is still lame, with a poor prognosis. This is not the only major injury a horse sustained in my very short time at this facility. Another horse shattered her cannon bone due to her being turned with a horse she was known to not get along with, per the barn owner's instructions. Keep in mind, I was at this boarding facility for less than 2 months. In addition to multiple major ending injuries, the quality of care is very poor. The horses are often lacking hay and water even in the winter months. I was always the one providing hay and water to my own horse when I was paying for her to be cared for. Barn staff will skip feedings if the farm equipment fails and they have to walk to the upper pastures to feed. Gates to pastures are often left unlatched. Many of the horses are underweight and unhealthy. Water buckets and troughs rarely get cleaned out, resulting in algae and nasty black water they expect the horses to drink. Horses also are often getting moved around into various pastures depending on the day, which is just asking for more accidents to happen. The facility is in a flood zone, resulting in very wet conditions. A majority of the horses here deal with hoof abscesses and lameness due to the fact their feet can never dry out. Lastly, management talks very poorly about their boarders. As a horse owner, I know these boarders just want quality care for their horses and are getting upset that they are not receiving said care. The barn owner, her mother, and various management would often complain and do things against owners wishes. They complain when owners request round bales be put in the pastures because their horses are hungry and there is not food in the pastures. They complain when owners are upset that their horses are shivering because they are wet and cold and not being blanketed appropriately. They do not like their boarders and make it very clear to those around them. I have given them over a year to make things right with me which they have been unable to do. They keep beating around the bush and will not just own up and take responsibility. Do not come here if you care about your horses.
