Where to begin... Avoid this company at all costs. There are zero Ethics with this man Klaus. It's true he is a scammer. We booked and paid in full well before our wedding date for a ceremony + photography. Communication leading up to our day was spotty and always initiated by me. Never felt like someone was taking care of us (ie no real wedding planner) They do not email you any details or contract after you book so you have to rely on the text messages and phone conversations you had, any notes you took. Payment is via Venmo no receipt of payments sent. Just not what you would expect from a professional business. Less than 24 hours of wedding ceremony we had our time and location changed due to them double booking us. Talk about stressful as you fly in and have to juggle all that too. Ceremony itself was fortunately beautiful and I am grateful for that but give credit to those people for doing their jobs (photographer and officiant). Afterwards we never hear from wedding company asking how our day went. 2 months later we are told because of Lahaina fire (from the previous year) our photos have been lost and they are working to retrieve them??!! Found out there is a falling out between Klaus and our photographer- the photographer was never paid and doesn't want to send photos to Klaus because he wants to paid (sounds reasonable to me!) Fortunately our photographer is a wonderful and honest man and even though he has never been paid by Klaus for shooting our wedding he did gift us our photos after 2 months of not getting anywhere with Klaus. You don't want to be involved with this kind of business who is not paying their contractors and using a devastating fire from a year ago to get out of providing their clients what they paid for. Bottom line - Klaus takes the money and then he runs and hides while working on the next victim. They do not care about taking care of you after that and giving their clients a stress free experience. After all isn't that why you hire a wedding company? Klaus booked my vow renewal in August, promising an easy experience with an officiant, permits and a Hawaiian ceremony (all organized by him). I paid in full and then never heard from him again. The website is now defunct, his email bounced back and the phone number he contacted me on is also not going through. It's a big scam and he is a horrible person for doing this to people on what should be a very special day. Do NOT do business with this man! read more

My dealings with Klaus and his company cost me $1500 and brought me literally nothing in return. Based on the other reviews I'm seeing now, it seems he may be an actual fraud: we got the "his mother is dying" thing, which they've apparently been using for at least two years. I dodged a bullet here. I filled out the contact form and got a very quick response. I expressed my wishes for the ceremony and he assured me that I could have everything I wanted. Then he asked for immediate payment in full. When I didn't respond right away, he texted me to see if I changed my mind. I just wanted to talk it over with my fiance first. I asked him send over the contract listing my requests and he stated that he didn't usually do contracts. Well I don't so business like that and he said he would send me an email with everything I wanted. 2 minutes later he texted to let me know that someone else booked the date and he would not be available. Working with Just Maui Weddings was the worst decision I've made. Klaus is a fraud and if you are considering using this company, run away fast. We were married in June and still have not received our photos. He has used every excuse to avoid giving us what we paid for. He even told us he was having a hard time contacting vendors due to the wild fires! We called the photographer directly and they told us Klaus never paid them!! First the owner was sick, then his mother passed (which we showed much courtesy)...then he was stuck in Europe due to Covid. It's just been excuse after freaking excuse. We followed the directions to cancel and still have not received a penny. Now they won't even respond back to us. We spent a lot of money on this wedding and I regret ever entrusting it to them. We had an absolute blast! My husband and I decided to elope last minute and Just Maui Weddings was so accommodating. We went with the PLUMERIA package and it was great! Being able to choose the beach location of our preference made it that much more special. Kimo Kirkland was our officiant and he made everything so relaxing (which is what I needed) and fun! Our photographer Frank was exceptional. He really took the time to make sure we got every shot possible. It was such a magical and seamless process- I highly recommend! We are so happy that we went with Just Maui Weddings! I was very hesitant about preparing for our special day online but I watched the video with Richard H. marrying another couple. We know instantly this service was the one for us and we wanted him to marry us. The only thing that I wished was knowing the color of flowers to coordinate to items for wedding. Experienced Hairdresser was excellent! Took time to talk to me and went the extra way to assure that I was taken care of So the wedding pictures would be great. Richards was just as we seen in video but better! He made us feel like family and was excellent with personal touch! So blessed to have him marry us On Makena Cove Beach. The ukulele was great and made our wedding like a dream. Even our first dance as a couple on beach. The photographer was patient, skilled in his poses and The pictures went beyond my expectations. We just returned from our Wedding on Makena Cove in Maui followed by a week in Kauai for our Honeymoon. Planning a wedding is stressful on it's own, but add in the planning from a distance and you may go crazy. It is hard to look online and pic a company that you an trust. I want to say that Klaus and his entire team (Laki-officiant, Gamze-photographer, and Dibea-hair and make-up) were very helpful and attentive. He was super responsive to any questions I had along the process of planning, returning texts and calls within 20 minutes usually. Even up to the minutes before boarding the plane from Colorado to Maui, he was putting my anxious mind at ease. I was given the contact info for all of the above team, so I was able to communicate with them independently as well. I was able to send hair and make-up ideas as well as photo ideas. We upgraded to the Trash the Dress photo session. Gamze was very patient and creative in getting the perfect sunset shots and working with my new hubby who is not a fan of pictures. Dibea did not rush hair or make-up and made me look amazing. Klaus arranged our appointment to get our marriage license and that process went flawless as well. During the ceremony, the officiant, Laki made us laugh and made the ceremony very memorable. We look forward to renewing your vows in 5 years with the vow renewal ceremony that we opted in for when we booked. I would recommend Just Maui Weddings to my friends and family. We were unable to travel to Hawaii due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. After attempting to reschedule multiple times and the Quarantine continuing to get extended we were unable to have our wedding on the island. The owner of Just Maui weddings assured us we would be getting a full refund over a phone conversation. Only months later to find out we would get a partial refund as they claimed they did so much work on their end canceling a wedding. The worst experience EVER- do not use this company. My daughters wedding to be at 4:45 NO wedding planner arrived. The reverend who was suppose to give a blessing was late! Who does that...well Klaus at Maui weddings does that - you hire a wedding planner to help you stake out a spot and kind of tell you how things will go - nope not this guy. Also - day of wedding he had it scheduled for McKenna beach-which never EVER was even talked about.-the ukele player shared that with me the morning of - getting Klaus to call me after Our family arrived in Maui was like pulling teeth. When I finally spoke with him the morning of the wedding during the McKenna beach convo he than tells me he will not be at the wedding for he just had a hip replacement- so I ask who will be organizing he than says his representative and I ask who that is and he says the reverend? What? If that were so-he should of arrived 45 mins before the wedding nope not Klaus's reverend he shows up late. What were we suppose to wait...with guests. Absolutely NOT! Thank God - we had hired a private photographer who helped with the organization since our WEDDING planner did not show up - so stressful for my family...you hire someone thinking they have your back - wrong. He first told me That I was wrong - that his guy was not late...no Klaus. I have a written apology from the reverend. Klaus's only job was to organize the wedding party...I paid big bucks for nothing. For you know he did not even get "the correct permit" for the correct beach. Thank God my son married our daughter and we know positively for sure that he is licensed in the State of Hawaii. The only service that he provided that was okay was the ukele player. A reverend showing up 10 mins late is not a wedding planner. I asked for a full refund minus the ukele player fees...of course he says NO. What a flipping joke of a company. read more
