Joseph Narrowe came to the rescue for us with an extraordinarily last minute weeding we decided to plan in Maui. With literally 10 days notice, Rev. Joseph turned our stress-fest into arguably one of the easiest things we have done in a 3 month period, that is including moving and having a child. From the first phone call, we could tell that this was someone that we were going to be comfortable with and would fit our somewhat specific needs of having elements of a Jewish wedding without being overly religious. We all spoke on the phone for a while, applied for the Wedding License on-line (which was easy), and off to Hawaii we went. Upon arriving in Hawaii, we picked up our wedding license from the local office (again, very easy) and went to go meet Rev. Joseph Narrowe for a get-to-know-you coffee. We found him to be as personable and welcoming in person as he was on the phone. We were immediately looking at each other with smiles as we know it was going to be a special evening the next day with and we were in good hands. That evening we also did a quick visit to the Beach that he had picked for the location which was stunning. We arrived at about 5:00 PM the evening. We quickly began the ceremony (which we hadn't seen in advance due to the the quick time constraints) and thoroughly enjoyed the writing he did specifically for our wedding including our vows. The ceremony lasted the perfect amount of time, spoke to our ideals and values and truly made us feel both in love as we committed ourselves to each other. Victoria and I were fortunate enough to have Joseph Narrowe be the officiant on our special day. Joseph wasn't just doing this as his job, he truly cared to meet and spend time getting to know us prior to performing the ceremony. After spending a couple pleasurable hours talking with him over coffee, we left feeling that we now had a "friend" officiating our wedding as opposed to a stranger. Reviewing the websites of wedding officiants on Maui, we discovered quite a list; many who provided templates for the order of the ceremony and templates for the vows. Looking at Joseph Narrowe's site we could immediately tell that he offered something different. On first contact (by phone from the mainland) he was quite gracious, listening to our thoughts, getting a feel for who and what we were about. He made things fun and we knew as we ended that first call that we had found our officiant. Via email and an occasional phone call we got things finalized beyond what we had hoped to achieve from home. Joseph not only created a wonderful set of vows, but he offered suggestions for possible ceremony locations and recommended other ways to make the event special. My husband Jamie & I were looking to get married in Maui, but had no idea how we were going to plan it or how to find a reliable person to marry us, until I ran across Joseph Narrowe. Being from Brooklyn, NY, when my (now) wife and I decided to get married with just a few close friends and family on Maui, finding the right wedding vendors became very important, and extremely difficult. And for a wedding with 12 guests, finding the perfect officiant seemed like the most important task that we had. Joseph performed as the officiant in our ceremony, and I couldn't have been happier to have chosen him for our special day. He responded to all emails promptly, which takes a lot of stress off you when you're planning an elopement from afar. He spent 15 minutes on the phone with me, answering my questions and getting to know me. He immediately made me feel at ease, and I knew immediately that I had chosen the right person. We were seeking a destination wedding in Maui, no family, just us. So we searched and searched for the right person of officiate our wedding. We then we stumbled upon Joseph. Joseph was able to help us with this and ensured that all of the our traditions were included. He was very knowledgeable about Judaism, the traditions and even taught us a lot! Joseph personalized the ceremony as we never thought it would be possible. The moment i spoke to him on the phone as we were organizing everything from Germany, it felt like we knew him and he knew us since forever.
