We had our wedding at Firehouse Chicago with a guest list of ~50. Since we had a smaller crowd, didn't see ourselves needing a DJ, and wanting full control over music -- JPP was the right fit for us. JPP was one of the easiest vendors to work with, reliable, and professional. During the months leading up to the wedding we worked on our playlists using Spotify. We had a playlist for pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. We also selected special songs (some with specific start times) for things like newlywed introductions and cake cutting. We initially emailed with Jeff, who always responded promptly. A couple weeks before the wedding, we got the email from JPP to fill in their document with our song details and from then on we communicated with Miguel over phone and text. We texted Miguel with last minute changes, which he confirmed promptly and executed perfectly on the wedding day. WOW! Jeff literally blew us away and was one of the nicest parts of the whole wedding (at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle). He was accommodating, helpful with timing and working around other vendor schedules, and his communication from beginning to end was SPEEDY. I literally cannot understand what other DJ's are charging for - Jeff does it ALL at a fraction of the price. The uplighting was lovely, the sound quality was superb, and his professionalism when making announcements and introductions was everything we could hope for. We played music off of my wife's laptop and had an iPod just to be safe (which we ended up using for the ceremony to avoid clutter). When we realized we had not selected quite enough music to make it through the night (word to the wise: air on the side of caution) he was able to go through the rest of our music library and pick songs that kept the crowd dancing and into it. We were able to be the music Nazis we are prior to the wedding and then relinquish just enough control the day of to be relaxed and have fun. Neither my wife nor I stressed for even a moment with Jeff in charge. I WILL TELL ALL OF MY FRIENDS, COWORKERS, FAMILY, ETC. TO USE THIS SERVICE!!! The only other alternative I would ever even consider is having a friend's live band or something play. Jeff was my DJ for my wedding last Friday, and he did a spectacular job. From our first e-mails to the late-night dance party at the reception, every interaction with him was wonderful. I would highly recommend Just Press Play for a wedding ceremony and reception, especially if you want some control over the music at your wedding. Jeff provided us with plenty of info to help us prepare for the big day. We loved Just Press Play at our wedding. My husband created the song lists, and they did a great job playing all our music at the right times. They were helpful and responsive throughout the entire booking and planning process and made sure they understood our goals for the night. My only gripe was that we were in a unique venue, where there was a dance room, and he said he was ready for our first dance. So, we went to start our first dance (which we choreographed and worked on for months!!) but no one was in the room yet!! We thought our DJ should have waited for our guests or made an announcement that he was starting the first dance. People were running to see us, and I think only 3 people saw the start of our dance. The playlist before and directly after the ceremony was mixed up so the bride didn't have the songs when she wanted them. OK stuff happens, get over it. Fine. But during the ceremony, Gymnopédie No. 1 by Eric Satie sounded like garbage because the speakers were distorting. The distortion continued throughout the night, not so bad during dance songs but still noticeable. Look, other places charge more. But you get what you pay for. read more

We rented audio equipment from Just Press Play for our wedding because we decided we didn't want to go with a DJ or band and instead we wanted to make our own playlists. We also booked an MC with them to help with starting the ceremony and announcements throughout the evening. We worked with Jeff during the whole wedding planning process, and he was very helpful and accommodating in providing us all the details and tips for making our own playlists. We were able to get a standard Bose speaker for the ceremony and reception, along with a mini speaker in the other room for cocktail hour. We also had a mic to use throughout the evening. All together, they had very competitive pricing for all the equipment we got for the night and their service was exceptional. Nick, our MC, called us the week of the wedding to go through all the details and also the pronunciation of our names (which is not easy). He showed up 3 hours early at the venue to make sure that everything was set up correctly and to do a sound check. Everything went well and according to plan, and there were no bumps whatsoever. I got married almost four years ago, and I still consider Just Press Play's services one of the highlights of my wedding. We just had him play music off our laptop, and Jeff asks that you send him a list of all the music you want played throughout the whole day, so he can have an idea of what he'll be doing. As anyone who's planned a wedding knows, those last few days before the wedding are really hectic, and I didn't get the chance to send anything to him. So, when he got to the venue, it was his first time seeing the music and when we wanted specific songs played. I had no one to blame but myself, but he handled it so professionally, and it all went smoothly. As soon as I found Just Press Play, I knew it was perfect for us and we booked right away. Jeff was very prompt in responding to my inquiry, and all of the info and pricing was laid out so clearly. We were trying to save as much money as possible, so we went with a basic sound system and one light for the dance floor. These guys are great and we got exactly what we wanted for our daughter's outdoor daytime wedding on June 29. Just Press Play provided this amazing and easy to operate sound system that gave us great sound throughout the outdoor space without overwhelming anyone with too loud music. The bride and groom wanted their OWN music -chosen by them. They put together a Spotify playlist on their phone. We plugged it right in to the system and we had awesome music all afternoon. We even got microphones for the toasts so everyone could hear all the stories and jokes. Communication was excellent. The setup and pickup, by them, was so easy and they even gave us instruction on how to use the system. It didn't take more than 5 minutes for a non-AV person to figure it all out. I would totally recommend Just Press Play! For our wedding, we used the MC service as well as the sound system. I am a bit of a control freak so I really liked that I could hand pick my music and play lists. In fact, I know many brides who have hand picked their music and then paid twice as much as we did because they use the DJ's music instead of music off their own computer. We used Just Press Play Productions for our wedding in September (2013) and it was excellent! We were not interested in paying lots of money for a DJ that would play music we weren't really interested in or one that would get offended if we gave him music to play so we looked around for alternatives. I was thinking to myself that there had to be someone out there that knew what people wanted and would just provided excellent, simple equipment, set it up for you and all you needed was an ipod or a computer and we would JPP and Jeff! He really does answer emails quickly and effectively, very nice and professional guy! We went with speaker, two mic (one on a stand and one wireless) and the lights and it was excellent! There were 95 people at our wedding and the reception hall was for 120 and volume an sound quality were perfect! Jeff is great, easy, and fun to work with and had everything set up in minutes! We used both a ipod and a laptop during the reception because some friends of ours had a mini surprise playlist they wanted to use and it worked out great, no problem whatsoever! The wireless mic definitely is a plus to have because you can use it during the toasts and one of your friends can be the MC! Jeff gave us great advice on how to put a good playlist together and was at the reception with the equipment set up early, and was arrive on time to pick it up and was helpful the whole way through! We had so much fun putting our playlists together and then having only the music we wanted at the wedding! We HIGHLY recommend Just Press Play if you want to have a say in what is played at the wedding, but you can relax and just forget the equipment is there during the reception because it will just work perfectly! read more

A friend of mine used Just Press Play last year at her wedding, which is where I first heard of Just Press Play. When I booked my date, I immediately contacted Jeff to see if he was available to do my wedding. We booked him for his sound system and MC services. I got to come up with all my own playlists on my ipod and he did the sound system, played the music and MC'd the event. Jeff was a dream to work with...he not only helped us every step of the way (choosing the right number of slow versus fast songs, making sure we had enough music, asking all the right questions about our wedding party, times, etc), but he executed the wedding ceremony and reception with ease. He was very professional throughout. He jumped around on our playlist to ensure that the dance floor was full throughout the reception, which it was. Oh, and the price...you will not find another MC service that is as affordable. His pricing is more than competative and he does a wonderful job. He uses Bose speakers, which have exceptional sound quality. Although I don't plan to have to get married again, I'd love to have another event just so I could work with Jeff again.
