We hired DJ Paul Simpson from Toast and Jam to DJ our wedding and we could not be happier with how it went! The planning before the wedding was very easy. We met with Paul initially to talk about what we wanted to do and he gave us access to the planning site where we could list what we did and didn't want him to play. We met with him again a few weeks before the wedding to go over the plan and he executed everything we asked for perfectly! We didn't use a wedding planner so Paul was instrumental in helping us figure out how the day would go. We had the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at the same venue but at different locations around the venue. Paul set us up with music and microphones for the ceremony. When that ended, he quickly moved to the cocktail hour to provide the music. After that, he moved to the reception area to announce us and get the music started. It all happened seamlessly! We also got a photo booth from Toast and Jam and were very happy with how that worked as well. Overall, this company really took care of us and made our big day run as smooth as we were hoping it would. Do not hesitate to book Toast and Jam and Paul Simpson for your event. If you're looking for a stress free wedding day, avoid them. Background: I helped my best friend plan her wedding pre-covid and Toast and Jam would not refund her $800+ deposit when we had to cancel due to the pandemic lockdown. She even worked with them to reschedule to try to avoid losing the money but they would only play a venue of 50 people and her wedding was 100. My friend had strict regulations for her wedding: vaccine cards were checked and the few people that weren't able to get vaccinated due to medical reasons were all covid tested 2-days prior to the wedding and asked to quarantine. She also followed all guidelines from the city and the venue, which was an extremely large space with very high ceilings. We were only at 25% capacity. At the end of the day, Toast and Jam would not reschedule for the amount of people that were coming and would not budge on refunding or even offer a partial refund. After reading this and you still want to proceed. I get it but please be careful. Proceed with caution and read the entire contract before you sign, specifically the sections that cover unforeseeable circumstances and public health crisis. Ask to amend those, so if you do want some flexibility for changes you have a fail safe. And with the rise of delta variant cases you may need some flexibility. Read and amend the contract and save yourself from losing the money you saved planning your dream wedding. read more
