We came to Just Q'in on Wednesday just before noon. The place was pretty much empty. I'd say it was clean, but there was some bbq sauce on the table we picked. We didn't notice when we sat down because it was on the other side of the table. Our friends who joined us noticed it and simply wiped it up. The table should have been wiped clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The place is cute with picnic table type tables. The benches were very substantial, which was nice. No cheap benches where if one person gets up, the other slides off as the now empty side of the bench goes flying in the air. Not here. Our friends were disappointed that Just Q'in no longer serves pastrami - that's what they really wanted. Instead, we all opted for brisket. Though the menu on the screen on the wall does state there's a $10 up charge for brisket, we didn't notice until it was mentioned before they rang up our order. $35 for brisket and two sides seems like a lot. Mark and I each ordered brisket w/ two sides and added a jalapeño muffin each. With tip is was $80. That seems excessive for what you get. The brisket was good, though just a little tough. The coleslaw was unique, with a vinegar type sauce/juice reminiscent of german hot slaw. It was good. The potato salad wasn't extraordinary, but it was tasty. The muffin had a nice bite, but as others have mentioned, it was quite dry. Oh... I didn't care for the sauces. I tried Mild and Mustard. I was not interested in trying the Hot. I opted to eat the brisket au naturel. I think maybe some brisket juice in a cup would have elevated the flavor and helped moisten it up a bit. The chef-type person brought us a sample of rib tips, which was very much appreciated. These were absolutely delicious! They were nicely spiced, and tender and moist. A great addition to the College Hill area. The food is great, I love the brisket and ribs tips. There is a place for you to eat inside but some people order and take their food to brink brewery next door. Everyone is super nice when you walk in but Tiff is the greatest. They also have a space available to rent for events and private parties. The space is always clean and inviting. There is plenty of street and parking lot parking. read more

I don't think I have ever forgotten to take pictures of the food, but I had tunnel vision after tasting the pastrami! Wow. It may have ruined me. I enjoyed the brisket as well, but that pastrami. Oh and great sauces as well though not needed. The customer service was outstanding. They were very patient with my questions. The macaroni and cheese was average and the jalapeño muffin had good flavor, but was dry. Maybe the end of the night sacrifice. I will certainly be a repeat customer. read more

Food was awesome, but customer service was even better! We ordered a few pounds of pulled pork and chicken for a party. Ordering over the phone was easy. When I went to pick up the order, they have pulled pork and rib tips, instead of chicken. I called it a happy accident! They had sent the invoice weeks before, but I didn't look at it. The invoice had rib tips instead of chicken, but I clearly didn't catch it. After talking with the employees, we were perfectly fine with the accidental substitution, but they insisted we take a dozen wings incase any of our guests didn't eat pork. It was 100% my fault for not seeing the issue on the invoice weeks ago, but the team was overly accommodating. The food itself would have brought us back, but we will be ordering all of our party orders from here mostly because of the service! read more

I frequent the Walnut Hills location. So excited about this location being closer to me. This location is close to Brinks brewery. My favorite item by far is the brisket. The brisket is definitely in my top 3 for Cincinnati. They also have pastrami now. I enjoy this so much and order it every time now. They sometimes offer a pastrami sandwich which is too darn delicious. The first and only time I was able to order the pastrami sandwich, I'm not sure I even chewed the sandwich, it was good good. Rib tips are flavorful and meaty. Mac n cheese is cheesy and tastes homemade. Peach cobbler is made with like a bread pudding type cake instead of crust which I really like. Love getting complimentary pickles & onions with my order. Give it a shot, I guarantee you will find a favorite on the menu. Don't skip the jalapeño cornbread. read more

The food was okay. Coleslaw was decent and their ribs were average. My main complaints we there was way too much chili powder in their sauce, and far too much religion in their organization. I don't need my restaurant (or anyone) to pray for me, yet that was the message on my carryout bag. They also gratuitously use a cross as the "t" in their logo. Pandering and seemingly blasphemous to me, but what to I know? I'm an atheist. What I do know, is that they only seem to want Christians to be comfortable dining with them, so I'll leave it to Christians to support this business. I ordered the brisket plate; the brisket had no taste & was med well done even though I asked for well done. The greens were too salty & the Mac & cheese tasted like it was a couple days old & was reheated. The whole meal was warm. Honestly food was pretty good. Order online - drive there. Our order wasn't even being prepared yet. Say "5-10 minutes" (order was submitted at roughly 7:25 pm, it's already 7:45 pm on arrival) instead we wait for everyone else in the store for a to go order and don't receive our order until 8:15 pm. Meanwhile, they are running out of items as customers in store were prepared first. Potato salad for Mac and cheese? Not even close to the same. I only write reviews if the place is off the charts amazing or if it sucks, and this place qualifies (for the good reason :) ). Came to Brink Brewing and Just Q'in was next door...you can order food from nearby restaurants to bring in to Brink. We got the ribs and the pulled pork, the mac n cheese and the jalapeño cornbread. The food was amazing! These people know how to do BBQ and the sides were equally fantastic. Can't wait to try it again. 10/10 Highly Recommend! read more

This ain't no "Urban" BBQ. Just Q'in is legit smoke ring, overnight pit BBQ. Had the Brisket and Pulled Pork, both had solid bark, great smoke, and were properly seasoned. Sitting next to Brink Brewery, this may be the best combination in the city. read more
