I asked about the fish and chips (I'm weirdly particular about my fish), and was very pleased with the response. They said I didn't have to get chips but can choose any two sides. I had greens and yams. Pimp had the grilled chicken salad. We waited a good bit (about 15 minutes). But as we waited, we got to watch them prepare our orders as well as the many others that were constantly coming in. This is a neighborhood hot spot, indeed. Everything coming out of that kitchen was looking like fire!!! (We made notes of things to try next time, like the Salmon Croquettes). No disrespect nor disparagement to the reviewer who said the greens tasted like they were from a can. I am a connoisseur of greens. I grew up in a house where canned greens were better than no greens at all. I know canned greens. The greens I got today were cooked from fresh (the texture is the tell-tale). The seasoning was spot on. No stems. Tender, yet with enough bite to let you know they were fresh (no matter how you doctor them, canned greens have a slickness to them that can't be masked.) That's not to say they don't or haven't served canned greens before (I know that in a pinch, I will get a can of "Glory" myself when I run short on a holiday). So my opinion is that the greens were fresh or someone has one helluva gift for hooking up canned greens! We're here for three days for a bowling tournament. Having seen that they do DoorDash, definitely gonna hit them again before we head back to D-town. BTW .... them yams. OMG. I could eat the greens, yams, and cornbread as a whole meal. I think that's what I'll have when we hit the road.
