A few more booths are in the back beyond the bar. You go to the bar to place your orders. The food was simple and delicious. We tried the bee sting (specialty pulled pork sandwich) and the sliced brisket sandwich, as well as the fresh bbq beans, light and flaky cornbread muffins, and the crisp sidewinder fries. Hmmm. First...great location and great bartenders and staff... some of the nicest people I have ever met. They were attentive and all had great energy. The decor and energy in the room was great! The food was slightly above average. My sis had two different types of ribs. My niece had the jack fruit sandwich. I had the brisket Philly. My Philly was okay. There was nothing crazy good about it. I would not go back for it. The ribs were meaty and tasty but, again, not anything to write home about. My niece did not like her sandwich. All in all, I would g g I back to the bar because of the wonderful bartender. But I would order something other than what we ordered. The portions were ample. My wife and I were in Cincinnati for a long weekend and we headed out from our hotel and after about a fifteen minute walk we entered the bar and sat down to order a beer. They had Sierra Nevada on special, yes please. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with chips and a salad on the side. The sandwich was brought out by our fantastic server while we sat on the outside porch and watched the world go by. The pork was piled high and juicy and went well with the pale ale. Stopped in on a Friday about 3:30pm for a quick cocktail and sat at the nearly empty bar. The good news is that the full menu was available. The bad news is that the hubby and I went out to lunch earlier so we weren't very hungry but the delicious smells emanating from the back were just too hard to resist! We were in Cincinnati for a weekend and anytime I travel, I look for the best BBQ spots to hit. I heard a lot about Bee's and we gave it a try on a busy Saturday afternoon. My order consisted of two meats: brisket and sausage, as well as collard greens, and their creamy mac and cheese. At $24, the meal was priced about where you'd expect compared to other BBQ joints. I always sample the sides first. If a restaurant puts time into creating delicious-tasting sides, the meat is usually even better. The collard greens were satisfactory, although I like mine with a bit more pepper. The mac and cheese was very tasty. Both the brisket and sausage hit the spot. The bark on the brisket contained a lot of flavor, and the sausage had a bit of a snap to it with each tasty bite. All in all, it was a great visit to a new BBQ spot and one I'll revisit when I'm in town. read more

Had an awesome visit to Bee's Barbecue! We tried both specials of the weekend: first, the smoked spam bites with jalapeños. They were flavorful, but came out a bit cold. Next up were the cheddar poblano sausage links -- these might have been my favorite bite of the day. Perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. We also ordered a two-meat, two-side plate: brisket, turkey, cornbread, and collard greens. The turkey was absolutely incredible -- honestly, it might be the best smoked turkey I've ever had. The brisket was solid too, had a bit too much fat but next time I will order it lean if possible. Special shoutout to the cornbread, which came with an amazing butter that took it to the next level. Absolutely loved this spot! Not a lot of spots you can get a legit brisket sandwich at 10pm. We stopped in after a University Cincy baseball game and this spot is perfect for a bbq and sports fan. The fried deviled eggs are some of the best things I've had all year and the Coors Banquet on draft which is pretty good pair with some tasty bbq. Bee's Barbecue has a second location, now in OTR! As of today, 9/28/2023, Bee's is open and slinging that Cue, with quite a few upgrades. For instance, they are open for many more hours per week (should have noted the hour while I was there--oops). There is a full bar with a variety of bourbons, quite a few taps of beer (mostly light pilsners and lagers). They have all the same smoked meats that you've come to expect from Bee's. Brisket, pulled pork, smoked Turkey, sausage, all by the pound or half-pound. All the sides are there too, collard green, Mac & Cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, corn bread, etc. some new stuff they have are French fries(sidewinder style), OTRcuterie board, pickle dip(which I've heard is bomb.com, but haven't yet tried). They do have a few of their own cocktails to try as well. So if you're like me and can't get to the original during their pre-sell-out hours, now you have a second option with a virtually guaranteed in-stock assortment of smoked meats and sides, plus booze. Pretty solid BBQ for being in Cincy. I ordered the 2 meat plate with brisket and Lockhart (TX) sausage along with bbq beans and cornbread. Everything was pretty good, brisket was juicy even though lean, the rub wasn't mesquite like it would be in Texas but still good. Cornbread was delicious especially with the butter they have. The only complaint I have is that I know Lockhart sausage living in San Antonio, TX and the sausage is not even remotely close to what you get in Lockhart. It wasn't bad per se it's just advertised wrong. Now the highlight of the meal was the additional 6 wings I got which they smoke and then fry to order! Bee's Barbecue looks like your average sports bar inside. Nice booths and bar. Only downside is that you have to go up to the bar to order instead of ordering with a server. I got the 2 meat combo. The Cincinnati Hot Links were AMAZING! If they weren't so pricey for the single link, I would absolutely come by just for the links! Fries were also phenomenal! They were well seasoned and almost likely potato wedges. They are some of the best fries I've had! Now... for what everyone actually wants to know about. The mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was tasty but wasn't very large for a side. The pasta in the MC was lacking in quantity. It felt like there was only a handful of corkscrew pasta in it. Service(apart from bar ordering) was good! All staff were nice and courteous. Took a little longer than expected to pay at the end. The restaurant in its entirety was very nice! Planned outing to check out Bee's BBQ in OTR. Just Back from Tennessee BBQ tour. When you first enter a pleasingly light Smokey aroma wafts through the restaurant! We decided to sit at the bar and met with a wonderful young lady named Melissa. We had reviewed the online menu and I thought I knew what I was ordering, but Melissa informed us of a rib special on Wednesday. I decided to go for the half rack rib lunch special and added a half pound of brisket along with the greens and baked beans. My BBQ colleague went with the pulled pork and the brisket with Mac and cheese and twisted potatoes. Let's start with the brisket. Great black bark with a beautiful smoke ring crazy moist and tender with the fat rendered yes still in tact. Probably our top 5 briskets ever. The ribs. Dry rubbed with a house blend. Smoked to perfection. Meaty and tender yet attached to the bone and did NOT disintegrate as if overcooked. Pulled pork classically smoked and shredded and not too dry. Greens were not too mushy with plenty of brisket. Our only criticism was that it needed a little bit more heat. The BEANS.Wow, a little heat, three beans and brisket. Definitely a winner. Mac and cheese had rotini noodle which is a little bit unusual but surprisingly delicious as the noodles trapped the velvety texture of the cheese. Twisted potatoes, cool French fried in a spiral shape and very meaty. Let's talk about Bee's BBQ sauces. Carolina gold mustard bbq was very classic with a sweet background of the mustard. House red sweet was definitely sweet but we found to be thin and just ok. Sting Hot BBQ was not very spicy and we found to be somewhat thin with a heavy lean towards a mild hot sauce like franks. I have to mention Bee's ice tea. Made in house it has a peach and fruity hint yet not overpowering. I had three and one to go! After eating at nearby Lucius Q BBQ and getting sick there because of food poisoning, was so glad I found this place. Stopped in here today and had a great experience. Love the Cincinnati hot link, very cool take on bbq for the area. It doesn't hurt that this establishment isn't Lucius Q which is owned by a butt-hurt liberal psychopath who celebrated the assassination of an innocent man. They blocked the ability to do reviews because good people were telling the truth about this tool, and tanking the ratings(super weak, by the way, and the reason why we get into these situations in the first place. These guys are protected and they think they can do or say whatever they want without consequence).
