I went to this location because I had a taste for ribs. I went in because the drive is too much trouble. I purchased a half slab and I knew they were not equal to the ribs from the Winton Rd location as soon as I looked at them. they were not smoked well. the meat was tough...not at all the fall off the bone smoky flavor I get at the other location. I had to literally tear the mat from the bone. I didn't eat them. I won't go back to that location again. read more

Confused at the negative/neutral reviews for City BBQ! I've only had positive experiences here! The crew at the pickup window is always so kind and sweet, orders have always been correct and the food is really good! I loooooove their smoked turkey. It's moist, tender and a little bit sweet?? It's fabulous. The brisket is good & juicy too but I like it with sauce. The turkey doesn't even need sauce. They have an option to get the brisket lean, I haven't done that yet though. The meats are a bit salty but I haven't had BBQ that isn't salty lol. I'm not a pulled pork/rib person so haven't had those, and haven't tried the chicken yet. Their sides are really good. They use cavatappi for the mac & cheese, and sometimes they'll give you the burnt top. The corn pudding is incredible. I like the green beans but they come with some kind of meat in them (pork?), they are very tasty though. Haven't tried the hush puppies yet. The fries are normal fries. I haven't tried a sandwich yet because I'd rather just make my own lol I have to highlight the peach cobbler - it's actually amazing and they use almond extract (?) in it and it's so good. It's addictive. I guarantee you that no one will turn down the food here if you take it to someone's house or a gathering. When I bring it for people they absolutely love it! Not the best BBQ, but somewhat acceptable for a chain. I've been carrying around a gift card in my bag for about 4 years after receiving it as a gift. No City in AZ, so waiting to use it elsewhere. Remembered I had it and made a stop. My BIG mistake was looking at the board and seeing the nacho option: bad move. This is not the place for it. Chips - Ice cold from a bag Pork - Ice cold Cheese - Didn't see much of it, not sure if there was actual cheese on it or just some squirt of cheese sauce? Overall the nachos should be a hard pass and taken off the menu. Will come back again at some point when in town to finish off the remaining balance on the gift card. I went through the drive-thru. The person that waited on me was nice. They got my order out very quickly! I just ordered a sandwich, the Lolo. No sides. No drink. They supplied the sandwich, knife, fork, three barbecue sauces, and a napkin. When I got the sandwich in my vehicle I stopped and opened it up and added barbecue and found that the sandwich was barely lukewarm. The meat had good flavor and the barbecue sauce was good I just would have liked the meat to be hot. This is a pretty decent fast food bbq joint. Their pulled pork was pretty dry but the brisket was good! The mac and cheese was a little bland but some salt helped. Coleslaw was good. All of the employees were super nice regardless of how busy it is in there. read more

I have to give a huge shoutout to Nicole (manager) and this store for taking care of their customers when a mistake happened. I had an event and a snafu with picking up the order ( I received partial order and had to drive back, though mistakes happen!) , but wow did Nicole take care of us when I called and brought it to her attention. She made sure my next event had all the fixings, was hot and delicious. The folks this fed work in healthcare and raved at how delicious and well prepared everything was! From the pulled meats, to the sides and their awesome cookies, everything was amazing. I truly thank her for her diligence and phenomenal customer service. I've been eating CB for years! It's some of the best bbq I've ever had. My absolute favorite is the chipotle bbq sandwich - it's amazing! I used to drive to Blue Ash, but thank God for this location. I called they said they bring it right away, 45 mins later nothing came; 1.5 hours later still nothing. So I called again and they offered me a 25 dollar gift card. Then they said they give us the bbq sauce and buns for free, which was insulting, if we could pick it up. We had important customers in this was really embarrassing. As the saying goes "if you keep doing the same thing over and over expecting things to change and they don't, you're either insane or don't want to drive 20 minutes out of your way to get excellent brisket. Service is always good but the food is not. At least at this location. I ordered 2 days in a row and they watered down my lemonade. I been before and got ribs. They were a little tough but just ok. I got the pull pork sandwich last week and it was good but my lemonade was weak. Barely a yellow tint to it. The next day I ordered wings, salad and lemonade. I believe they are just being cheap at this location . When I walked in I seen a bag and a cup that looked like water. I told them I ordered online and he said that was mine. I said I ordered online lemonade. He said we changed our lemonade it's much sour now. I could literally see through the cup. I then turned around to the condiment station and the lemonade looked like lemonade! So I poured whatever he gave me out and got another drink. I just visited another location and asked did they recently changed their lemonade she said no. If I pay for something I expect to get what I paid for. The wings wasn't good either. Very solid bbq. The brisket is delectable. It was soft, tender and had been smoked very well. There is plenty of space to dine in. There is also a drive thru. The service was quick. Oh and don't forget to order the peach cobbler. It is a sugar rush for sure, but delicious. read more

Took mom and dad out today to treat them to some barbecue. Nicely priced clean and delicious. Everything taste fresh and you can watch them cut your meat right there in front of ya. Seasoned just right not to excessive in my opinion. Price wise for good barbecue is of average cost. Sorry for not getting any pictures crew it was a fast meal due to family dynamics today. The cashier was very nice but all the other staff seemed to just chilling talking to each other, on their phones, and eating. The food itself was okay. They were out of ribs hours before close and I ended getting raw chicken on my sandwich. My 4th time hear at the Fairfield location, each time has been less of a good experience. This time I stood for a long time at the cash register to place my order while 7-8 employees seemed to make eye contact with me but nobody came over. It's not like I'm hard to see as I'm about the size of a Sasquatch and they weren't busy, nobody else waiting to order, only 3 tables occupied and one car in the drive thru. It was 12:15 on a weekday so it was a lack of good management as I'm pretty sure one of the ones that ignored me first was the manager. This was the first time the service was subpar but the food quality is sliding each time a bit more too which isn't good. Cold Mac-n-cheese from the kitchen to my table? Lukewarm baked beans and even cooler meat? That's not Texas style! I've only been to one other City BBQ on Miller Lane in Dayton and never had these issues there. On the upside this location was at least clean though one of violations listed on Yelp was improper food storage, that's a big one for me. I'll check the reviews and their violations before giving them another try. It's a newer location so I'm sure it's experiencing new employees learning curve issues but they should have that addressed by the end of February or it's probably going to slowly go downhill. Still no further contact from this establishment which really goes to show you that they don't give a crap about their customers. I gave them a copy of my receipt which they asked for because they said they couldn't find my transaction. What a farce and what a joke of a business this is! Stay away from this so called overpriced restaurant! Lousy food and even worst customer care. It really upsets me that a restaurant can put a reply on here responding to a complaint from an Employee who just reply's with the same statement to every other customer complaint giving the impression to others that they really do care and are doing something about it! Disappointed with the barbeque ribs were VERY tough, didn't finish them, brisket was dry and VERY tough, the flavor was great but I'm looking for a meat I can bite into and enjoy. The sausage was tough and didn't have that snap to it. The only thing salvagable was the GREAT pull pork, like butter in your mouth and the turkey, the potato salad, beans, coleslaw and cornbread was EXCELLENT. Would I go there again? Over the years my husband and I have been fans of City Barbeque and have visited many time and different locations. I had been to the Dixie Hwy location and didn't have a good experience but he wanted to go and go we did. We had to stop the cashier from talking to a co-worker in order to ask a question. When the food came it was barley warm almost cold. We had ordered a city sampler, he said the brisket was cold and went to inform the staff they brought out more brisket but I said to the young man the entire meal is cold. He had the manager to come over. She said she would replace everything, somehow my water got tipped over in the process of giving her the unwanted meal. The big heavy man that brought out the replacement meal which looked like scraps looked at me and said "is someone cleaning that up for you" very sarcastically. The spill had been there at least 10-15 minutes, finally the manager came and cleaned the spill with paper towels. We packed up the meal which we knew we were going to throw away.
