Everyone was friendly, and I was seen less than 5 minutes after completing my paperwork. The technician worked efficiently. My X-Rays were taken quickly, and I experienced no pain (only slight discomfort at times) throughout my teeth cleaning. I was never left waiting in the chair. Immediately following my cleaning, Dr. Waugh entered to examine my teeth and X-Rays. I was in and out in about a little over an hour (including time for paperwork), and my teeth and gums looked and felt great. Payments: Theses days medical practices demand an upfront payment even if the procedure will likely be covered by insurance. They would rather apply a credit to the patient account (if needed) than wait for the insurance to pay, or take the risk of not being paid. Having that been my experience I fully expected to be charged a co-pay. So I was delighted to learn Dr. Waugh practices the opposite approach. I was told they will first bill my insurance (Humana), and only if the insurance did not cover the total cost would I be expected to pay. It was a welcomed break from the new norm. The low point of yesterday's visit: they found a cavity (or three), and I can't believe I'm writing this, but I'm actually looking forward to returning in 2 weeks.

Because I wanted to go to church on Sunday, I used dental glue to put them back on the partial. I did pretty good, but they just weren't quite right. I called ThoroughDent Smiles and got an appointment with my dentist who I had seen before, Dr. Neda. She thought I had glued them back together pretty good, but I explained to her that they were really old, and I was interested in getting a new partial depending on cost and whether I had to use that goop to do the impression. She told me about a different way they do partials, where they don't use the metal, but a plastic that is not rigid. And it would be cheaper than the metal kind. And they could do the x-ray instead of the goop! I said sign me up! They did the x-ray thing, and I didn't even gag, because they told me a special tip about putting salt on the back of your tongue-and you don't gag. It works, so now I carry salt in my car, but they have some there if you need it. Special shout out to Reagan who was the assistant who was very kind and patient! Dr. Neda was so kind and told me that I would probably hate the partial at first and then I would love it. She was right in that the first time I put it in, it hurt a little and then when we tried to get it back out, I thought they were going to have to climb up on the chair with me with pliers to remove them. They worked on it a little and soon they were not a problem, and I love them! With my old partial, I was very self-conscious and felt like the teeth were a little too big and would never smile with my whole mouth. Now they are so natural looking, you would never know they are not my teeth. They did an excellent job matching the color and I can now smile with my whole mouth!!! Another shout out to Keri who helped me with my follow-up appointment. We had a great talk. And I can't stop without giving a shout out to the ladies working at the front desk who are always friendly and willing to explain everything and help you out. I have found Dr Hishmeh to be the most caring and honest doctor/dentist I have ever known and I'm 72 yrs old!! I use to ignore dentists although I was raised to know healthy teeth are very important. But it's always been about the pain. Dr. Hishmeh is the best on all accounts. He made me trust!! If he doesn't get it right the first time he will do it over until it's right. I've seen and heard Dr. Hishmeh give back to his community and it's people, always humble and caring. His staff is wonderfully kind and caring, as well!! They will work with you as much as they can. I'm so very thankful of this gentle and kind man and his wonderful staff along with his genuine care for his patients! He's my family dentist and will always be!!

Turns out they left holes in my fillings and they were completely uneven. I was supposed to get a crown done here and they said I could pay in payments over time. The day I'm supposed to get the crown fitted they ask me to pay all of it upfront and say if I wanted to pay in payments I had to sign up for care credit which was never discussed with me. I now drive an hour and a half back home so I don't have to step foot in this office. Don't waste your time.

Take 2# Unfortunately after 35 years of relationship I had to find a new dentist due to one dentist not handling a failed tooth filling by his assistant respectfully. She dropped a tool in my mouth twice, while I was totally numb and could not feel anything except getting startled each time. After numbness was gone after few hours I noticed my upper and lower teeth were hitting each other very hard, could not eat, or speak properly. Went back after calling the front desk in a few days. Dentist came in the room agitated and without apologizing said what is it. I told him about the issue and he said well you should have told us that day before leaving the office told him you numbed my mouth and I was swelling with no feeling in my mouth. After some adjustments he fixed it. Told him his not known assistant "she never introduced herself to me,"did the failed job since he left shortly after numbing and removing old fillings on the original visit. I told him mistakes happens so best is to accept and fix the problem as I do every day in my own job. He said she is my longtime assistant and she doesn't make any mistakes.
