I took my son to Justin's barbershop in morganville route 9 South this past Friday, January 28, 2023. We have been to Justin's before, and never had a problem. My son who is 16 showed the barber exactly what he wanted and she said she can do this. She styled his hair so we walked out it looked pretty good until we got home. He took a shower, brushed his hair and he looked like Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber. See photos. I will never be going there again. I am shocked that they actually have a person that does not know how to do hair doing hair. I am not trying to blast this company but maybe do a better job of hiring your staff and stylists/barbers. Extremely overpriced and barbers are obnoxious and horrible. Went in a few days ago for a haircut and the dude tried to make a quick buck by taking me in, even though he had an appointment 15 minutes later. Completely rushed my haircut, faded sides unevenly, cut my neck twice, and didn't even give me what I asked for. On top of that, after the horrible haircut was over, he charged a "specialty haircut" to my credit card. lmao what a waste of $35. this place is never getting my business ever again read more

I called to make two kids haircut appointments and they charged $25 per kid after spending 5 min each on their hair. I thought it was $20 for kids haircuts. I didn't request a "children's specialty" haircut and if that's all they were offering, they should've told me over the phone. We were literally in and out within 15 minutes. read more

I usually go here because of my barber, Frankie Fresh. However, the experience I had today was disappointing to say the least. Having booked an appointment on 1/27/2022 with Frankie Fresh on 2/3/2022, I arrive only to find out he no longer works here. Yet, he was on the website's database and I never was informed in the 7 days prior to my appointment that he would not be my barber. While this was upsetting, I was fine with keeping my original appointment time. The receptionist rescheduled me with the next available barber, who I believe was named, Tito. After getting in the chair and telling him what cut I wanted, I ask him to shape my beard up as well. He stated he DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME because he has another appointment in 15 minutes. More specifically he stated "my friend is the next appointment." He waited to tell me this while he was midway into my cut and I knew I was going to get a rushed job and only half of the service I had my original appointment scheduled for. The cut lasted a whole TWELVE MINUTES and now one side of my sideburns is blended in with my beard and the other isn't. The level of unprofessionalism is outstanding, beginning from no notice that Frankie Fresh was no longer working here, to being shoved into an appointment with Tito who clearly could not be bothered to give me a decent cut because he was "short on time" before his friend's appointment. Had I been told the TRUTH that there was no barber available then I would have rescheduled for a decent cut. Instead, they wanted to make a quick profit WITHOUT providing a decent level of service. Bottomline being the database needs to be updated and there is no point in making an appointment because you'll just get thrown into some haphazard cut even though the mistake was on THEM. Not worth the $25 for a half-ass cut AFTER having a standing appointment for seven days. Will never return here again. read more

Over priced and employees are very unprofessional and immature. Numerous times I have been in there and after a customer has left they proceed to talk negatively about them. I understand in that profession some people might rub you the wrong way, but at the very least try to keep that kind of talk to the break room and not in front of other customers. Constantly blasting music, can be very obnoxious and feels like a night club. I would rather avoid this place for a more reasonable and professional environment. read more

I just called the barbershop at 7:50pm Kelsey answers the phone and asks if I could hold. ( ok no problem) so I'm on hold now for over 10 minutes and the entire time she's talking to 2 gentleman about how she has 11 roommates , and is in school and so on and so on . I'm now trying to call the barbershop back on my cellphone to say hey Kelsey totally forgot about me on the phone. Terrible customer service ! I love this barbershop. It seems to be dedicated to cutting mens hair, although they do offer other services for women.Most of the clientele is men and boys. The barbers are very friendly and the guy who works at the front desk is really courteous. I have had my hair cut by two barbers over the last few months and each of them is great. The barbers are all very young, probably around early 20s, but you can tell that they all really like what they do and that they are well trained. I love that this shop opened up so close to my house and is conveniently located on route 9. You can also book your appointments online. One thing to note is that they only accept cash. There is an ATM located inside the shop. I highly recommend this place because they do a great job and run a nice business. read more

I believe the guys name is joe who cut my hair and he totally sucked and should not be a barber. It should be a crime to let that man cut hair again. I went back because the manager, John tried to make it right. He did not succeed and kept defending joe. I asked for a low skin tight fade and I received a mid skin tight fade. Terrible all around. Giving a 1 star review (which is the lowest) should be an honor since it is too high of a review for this place. In addition, they advertise "30 minutes" more like 30 seconds. First time here. Second chair on the right, think guys name was Justin. Gave me a pretty bad cut on back of my head. He didn't give a .... worst shape up I got. I wouldn't even call it a shape up. One of the worst hair cutting experiences of all time. I can't speak for all of the barbers working at this location. The person that cut my hair was a guy named Dom. Let me start by saying that at $25 a haircut, you better be able to deliver a damn good service. As to the barber, he needs to learn that he is working with a human head. Never have I been to a barber who was so aggressive with the clippers, in terms of applying repeated pressure on the same spot. You are not working with a piece of wood that you need to clap down so hard. The worst part of the haircut was cleaning up around the ears and the way he used the straight razor. He would have cleaned up around the ears if he wasn't too busy talking. Dom needs to learn something called professionalism. You might also want to get some training from a real barber. Again never have I been to a barber that didn't use shaving cream when using a straight razor. My skin is still burning. Dom, you are the worst barber I have ever dealt with. I have gotten bad haircuts in the past but never have I dealt with a barber who failed to provide the most basic services included in a haircut. As a side note, don't talk about how you got fired from another job because you weren't a competent worker. Especially when you have a customer sitting in front of you. I really didn't want to leave a tip for this guy because he was truly horrible at his job. I won't be going to this place ever again. I would recommend skipping this place just for the overpriced haircuts. The cheaper spots in the area do a better job than this place. But I would definitely recommend avoiding Dom the barber at all cost. read more

Hard to believe the 4 star ratings. First, this is the dirtiest barber shop I have ever been in. Not just hair from other customers all around, the floor looks like it hasn't been mopped since it was installed. The chairs in the lobby are ripped. The mats under several of the barbers are ripped. On top of this, the barber on tonight has been cutting hair all of 5 months. I really needed a cut and my barber for years suddenly closed. So I left it long so that I can make an appointment somewhere with skilled barbers to finish. At 18 dollars, this is not the most expensive shop but clearly not the cheapest. But the 10-12 dollar shops are cleaner and have at least 2-3 barbers per shift who know what they are doing. Overall, I went in hoping I would be pleasantly surprised. Left being more disappointed than I could have expected. 4 stars? Try negative one. read more

Great shop. When I walked in, the receptionist was quick the greet me and quick let me know how long until I could be seen. Upon walking in, you will see a pool table in the back, and see cool youthful decor around the shop. It definitely has a young atmosphere, so I can understand some people not really liking the environment, but overall I found it to be fun and upbeat. Kyle cut my hair that day. He did a fantastic job. I kinda wanted to do something new, but was very used to what I've been doing for the past couple of years. He heard my input on it, suggested a few things here and there, and my haircut ended up exactly how I wanted it. Not too far a stray away from what I would be comfrotable with, but a new refreshing take on my style. I recommend this place if you're looking for guys who seem to really know what they're doing, and if you're down to keep up with the upbeat New Jersey attitude in the shop. Great professional shop for all hair types. Clean and well managed. I previously drove to more urban areas for my son to have the latest cut.. Save your gas and the long lines and come here. They are up to date and again..do all types of hair, black, white Asian etc. The front desk attendant is friendly and all the barbers are professional. Open comfortable clean space to wait if you even need to. Nigel is our favorite but I'm sure the other barbers do a great job as well. Just GO! read more
