Just went to Piggly Wiggly in Watertown. Wisconsin had the first register closest to the flowers…read morevery rude young lady couldn't smile. Quint say hi couldn't answer my questions and I said wow you must be having a bad day and she just gave me a dirty look. I don't understand why people pay people like that when they can't even have a smiley face, she didn't have to carry on a conversation with me, but she could've had a smile on it on her face or address a customer very rude young lady would never go to her again. This is New Year's Eve Saturday at 9:21 in the morning.

But I decided to put the food and soda back and go to Kwik trip. I felt bad for being rude to the guy. So I might go back and apologize. That bp. Was my favorite place to go to. The store was always the perfect location. But now the food is going away. They are low on snacks. But pretty good on soda. But yeah. I might stop by sometime again.

Visited from…read moreout of town this afternoon and since we will be heading out of state, my girlfriend was taking photos of a few bottles of wine she wanted to be sent to us at a later time as we couldn't fit anything else in our luggage. Out of nowhere the old man who works here grabbed my girlfriends iPhone and proceeds to ask if that is a camera and then returns the iPhone saying there are no pictures allowed. Ok, maybe if they had a sign that mentioned this that would be something, but to just grab at a customers personal belongings is completely inappropriate!! Obviously put off by the old man, we leave the store. Old man "no photo" then proceeds to follow us in his vehicle to the other store we are shopping at nearby. When we finish up in that store, upon walking outside, Watertown PD is waiting for us to explain ourselves (great use of the police departments time!!!). The officer extremely understanding and apologetic and the ladies who work at Calico were extremely nice, but the crazy old man left us with such a bad experience, we will NEVER be back here! It's quite unfortunate actually as we were looking forward to many shipments of their wine. Maybe it's time crazy old man be put in a home for the old folks!!!!! UPDATE- After a lengthy email dialogue with the owner of Calico Cottage, I can now say that this experience has been, bar none, the worst customer service/retail experience I have ever encountered in my life!!!! In my opinion, not only were the owners unwilling to offer a sincere apology for getting physical with my girlfriend, they also basically placed the blame on us. Horrible, Horrible customer service!!! You've all been warned!!!

I hosted a wine tasting party at Calico Cottage this afternoon for several of my girlfriends. What…read morefun!! We had a blast sampling different varieties of wine and browsing through the unique gift items that Calico Cottage has to offer. Edna and her staff were so kind and very generous with the horderves that came with the party. I would very much recommend having an event like this or even just stopping in and checking it out. They don't pressure you into buying anything, just a fun relaxing place...but if you do want to shop, the prices are quite reasonable!

This is the local bottle shop that we go to most of the time and it's always fun to browse around…read morethe whiskey and bourbon sections to see what new offerings have shown up. They have all of the regular brands that you would expect, but they also have some rotating stock that comes through that is worth a look. Recently I have noticed a few offerings from Garrison Brothers as well as Widow Jane (no Black Opal yet, lol). A few of the guys that I work and ice fish with are big bourbon and whiskey snobs, so this is where I go to stock up when they are in town. The folks at the front counter are always nice and are a good source of recommendations if you are looking for something special.
